West Puente Valley (pronunciation) is an unincorporated community and census-designated place in Los Angeles County, California, USA, northwest of La Puente. The population was 22,636 at the 2010 census, up from 22,589 at the 2000 census. The community is probably named for its location related to the city of La Puente.

Bassett Senior High School is the only comprehensive high school for the Bassett Unified School District and is located at 755 N Ardilla Ave, La Puente, California 91746. The school mascot is The Olympian, a Greek god. The school colors are Black and Gold. The school coat of arms features three interlocked Olympic rings with the profile of an Olympian and feathers. The campus opened in 1965 and celebrated 50 years in 2015. The principal is Hector Vasquez.The Bassett Olympian Stadium went through an extensive modernization which included a rubberized running track, artificial football field and cooling system, electric score board, drainage, replaced wood steps and seats of existing bleachers with aluminum panels; the BHS Football team, Track and Cross-country team and both boys and girls Soccer teams use the stadium. BHS Commencement ceremonies and Torch Middle School Promotion ceremonies are performed in the stadium. The BHS Gymnasium also went through an extensive renovation after the passing of Bond measure "E" in the district. The BHS boys and girls basketball team, the BHS volleyball team, and the BHS badminton team play in the Gym. Student Body sports rallies and renaissances rallies are usually done in the Gym. The school library is also currently going through renovations. The campus is two stories and has three quads and an amphitheater. The school has its own Theater equipped with a Band room. The campus also has a full swimming pool, and four fields used for its Baseball and Softball teams. Bassett has many clubs from Drama, Band, Choir, Color Guard, Ecology, Spanish, French, H.O.S.A., Interact, AVID, Renaissance and Academic Decathlon and many more. There is a chapter of the National Honor Society (NHS) at Bassett High. The Associated Student Body (ASB) is the student government of Bassett High and has authority over all clubs. The ASB is composed of an executive board (president, vice-president, secretary, treasurer and chief justice) and a general assembly of about 25–35 students of Bassett. The government is also divided into four classes (senior, junior, sophomore and freshmen) who have their own presidents and advisers.

Edgewood High School is a secondary school located in West Covina, California and is serviced by West Covina Unified School District. Previously a high school and now once again one, it shares its campus with Edgewood Middle School. The newly started high school's first graduating class was the class of 2014, which was the only class on campus when the school first opened in 2010.

The Donut Hole is a bakery and landmark in La Puente, California. An example of programmatic architecture, the building is shaped like two giant donuts through which customers drive to place their orders. The bakery is one of the most photographed donut shops in the United States.

North-West College is a private for-profit system of colleges in California. North-West College offers diploma, associate degree and certification programs at each of its seven campuses throughout the Los Angeles and Riverside areas. North-West College was established in 1966 by Marsha Fuerst. Fuerst's family has been involved in the allied health field since the early 1950s. North-West College continues to be owned and operated by the Fuerst family.

La Puente (Spanish for "The Bridge") is a city in Los Angeles County, California, United States. The city had a population of 39,816 at the 2010 census and is approximately 20 miles (32 km) east of downtown Los Angeles.

Rancho La Puente was a ranch in the southern San Gabriel Valley that measured just under 49,000 acres (200 km2), and remained intact from its establishment in the late 1700s as an outpost of Mission San Gabriel until about 1870. By modern landmarks, the ranch extended from San Gabriel River on the west to just west of the 57 Freeway on the east and from Ramona Boulevard/San Bernardino Road on the north to the Puente Hills on the south. All but 40 acres (160,000 m2), which fall within Orange County, are within Los Angeles County. Today, the present communities of Avocado Heights, Bassett, Baldwin Park, San Dimas, Rowland Heights, Hacienda Heights, City of Industry, La Puente, Walnut, Covina, West Covina, and small sections of South El Monte and Irwindale are contained within the old boundaries of Rancho La Puente.

Sierra Vista High School (SVHS) is a four-year comprehensive high school located in Baldwin Park, California. It opened in 1961 and is part of the Baldwin Park Unified School District. It is one of three high schools in the city, Baldwin Park High School and North Park Continuation School being the other two. Feeder schools include Sierra Vista Junior High School (7–8), Olive Middle School (6–8), and Jones Junior High (7–8) and Santa Fe (3–8). The school colors are Red and Black. The school mascot is a Don. The Dons are part of the Montview League for most sports. The top sports are Wrestling, Baseball, Boys' and Girls' soccer, Boys' and Girls' Track & Field, and Football . Students can join over 50 academic and social clubs.School Mission: SVHS provides a 21st-century education that emphasizes critical thinking, communication, and respect for diversity, in a safe and positive environment, supported by collaborative community involvement, in order to create successful, college-prepared and career ready citizens. In the 2012-2013 school year, a new three-story building was completed and opened for classes to be held. In late 2017, H. Vincent Pratt became the interim principal.

KTNQ (1020 AM) is a radio station licensed to Los Angeles, California, with a Spanish news/talk format. It is owned by Latino Media Network; under a local marketing agreement, it is programmed by former owner TelevisaUnivision's Uforia Audio Network. From its original licensing on March 13, 1925 until 1955 it was called KFVD. The station has studios on the Univision Broadcast Center building located on 5999 Center Drive (near I-405) in West Los Angeles, and the transmitter is located in the City of Industry. The station was originally restricted in its broadcast hours, signing off at local sunset to protect 1020 KDKA Pittsburgh from nighttime sky wave interference. Later, the FCC allowed geographically spread daytime stations to operate at night with a directional pattern away from the previously protected station. 1020 kHz in Los Angeles was then allowed to operate as a 24 hour station.

KEIB (1150 AM) is a commercial radio station in Los Angeles, California. Owned by iHeartMedia, the station brands itself as The Patriot, and broadcasts a talk radio format. The station's studios are on West Olive Avenue in Burbank. By day, KEIB is powered at 50,000 watts, the maximum for commercial AM stations in the U.S. At night, to minimize interference to other stations on 1150 AM, it reduces power to 44,000 watts. The transmitter uses a directional antenna with a four-tower array, located in the City of Industry.

La Puente High School is a public high school in La Puente, California, located in the San Gabriel Valley, serving grades 9–12. It was established in 1915. It is one of six high schools (including two alternative schools) in the Hacienda La Puente Unified School District. It is a California Distinguished School and about 80% of seniors graduate every year.The school has a number of small learning communities known as "academies," including the University Academy, Law Enforcement Academy, Business Academy, Multimedia Academy, Science and Engineering Academy, and Performing Arts Academy. The Law Enforcement Academy works in partnership with the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department to educate students interested in a career in public service. La Puente High School currently has 1425 students and 63 teachers.

Latin American Bible Institute, California (LABI) is a private coed Bible college in the Avocado Heights district of La Puente, California. It was founded in 1926. In 1950 the institute moved to its current location in La Puente.The institute was granted an exception to Title IX in 2016 which allows it to legally discriminate against LGBT students for religious reasons. It is ranked among the "Absolute Worst Campuses for LGBTQ Youth" by Campus Pride.
