Lagos University Teaching Hospital

College of Medicine, University of Lagos (CMUL) also known as Medilag is the medical school affiliated with the University of Lagos in Nigeria. It is located in Idi-Araba, Lagos beside its sister institution, the Lagos University Teaching Hospital. The college has a total staff of 1,850 in 32 departments.

Randle General Hospital is a state general hospital in the Surulere district of Lagos, Nigeria. It was established for community use in 1964 by Chief Majekodunmi and it was one of the first health care clinics in Surulere. The hospital is extremely busy, particularly in the accident and emergency department. This hospital was established to offer maternal and child health care, dental services, medical and surgical services etc. It is sometimes referred to as the Surulere General Hospital. The medical director of the hospital is Dr. Aduke Odutayo.The hospital recorded a total of 6929 patients visiting the dental section for the period of January to December in the year 2020.

The word "Mushin" in the western part of Nigeria, originates from the picking of 'Ishin fruit' which is a portmanteau of two words: "mu", meaning "pick" and "Ishin", which is a fruit. The Great King of Mushin is Oba Fatai Ayinla Aileru II (JP), Permanent Member of the Council of Obas in Lagos State.

Oba Fatai Ayinla Aileru (born 11 March 1938) The Great Monarch, is the current Oba (king) of Mushinland and the Chairman of Obas and Chiefs of Mushin Local Government. He is a First Class Oba (King) which qualifies him to be a Permanent Member of Council of Obas in Lagos State, Nigeria. Lagos State Council of Obas and Chiefs is one body, which has the capacity to contribute phenomenally to good governance in the State by constantly availing government of its wisdom and sound advice: using its tremendous influence to mobilize popular support for public policy as well as being an important source of communication and feedback between the government and the grassroots. The Institution of the Council of Obas and Chiefs is a critical building block that every government must engage seriously if development and orderly societal growth is at the core of its vision. As an Institution, the Council of Obas and Chiefs is as old as Lagos state itself. It was established following the creation of Lagos State through the Council of Obas and Chiefs of Lagos State, Edict 1969 which came into force in April, 1969. The erstwhile Council of Obas and Chiefs, which was constituted in December 1995 with Thirty-One members, was dissolved by the immediate past State executive Council at its 11th meeting held on Monday 28 May 2007. The new Council has a total of Fifty-one members drawn from the five divisions of the State namely Lagos Island, Ikeja, Epe, Ikorodu and Badagry.

Surulere is a residential and commercial Local Government Area located on the mainland of Lagos in Lagos State, Nigeria, with an area of 23 km2 (8.9 sq mi). At the last census in the year 2006, there were 503,975 inhabitants, with a population density of 21,864 inhabitants per square kilometer. The local government area is bordered by Yaba, Mushin and Ebute-Metta.

Yaba is a suburb which is located on the mainland in Lagos state. It has become a commercial, transportation, educational and entertainment hub. Yaba became a hub for various commercial activities, which has made it become a part of Lagos State Transportation Master Plan. It was inaugurated in 2021 and was built by the Lagos Metropolitan Area Transport Authority (LAMATA), and publicly opened by the Lagos State Governor, Mr.Babajide Sanwo-Olu as part of a major transportation initiative. The bus terminal has been described as an "ultra-modern" structure.

The Teslim Balogun Stadium is a multi-use stadium in Surulere, Lagos, Nigeria. It is used mostly for football matches and serves as a home ground of First Bank FC. The Nigeria national rugby league team also use the venue. The stadium has a capacity of 24,325 people, and is sometimes used for international football matches. It once served as the venue for the Nigerian FA Cup final, just before it hosted some matches in the 2009 FIFA U-17 World Cup youth tournament held in Nigeria. It sits adjacent to the Lagos National Stadium.

Yaba Higher College was founded in 1932 in Yaba, now a suburb of Lagos in Nigeria to provide tertiary education to Africans, mostly in vocational subjects and teaching. The college staff were transferred to start the University of Ibadan in 1948 and the college premises were used for the new Yaba College of Technology.

Igbobi College is a college established by the Methodist and Anglican Churches in 1932, in the Yaba suburb of Lagos, Lagos State, South-western Nigeria. It is still on its original site and most of the original buildings are intact. It is one of the oldest colleges in Nigeria, and has been the alma mater of a number of well-known Nigerians. In 2001 the school was returned to its original owners by the Bola Tinubu led Lagos state government.

The Federal Neuro Psychiatric Hospital, also known as Yaba Psychiatric Hospital or Yaba Left, is a Nigerian Federal psychiatric hospital in Yaba, a suburb of Lagos.

The Lagos National Stadium is a multi-purpose stadium in Surulere, Lagos State, Nigeria, which comprises an Olympic-size swimming arena and a multipurpose arena used for athletics, rugby, basketball, volleyball, table tennis, wrestling and boxing matches. It was used mostly for football matches until 2004. It hosted several international competitions including the 1980 African Cup of Nations final, the 2000 African Cup of Nations final, and FIFA World Cup qualifying matches. It also served as the main stadium for the 1973 All-Africa Games.
