Sendagaya (千駄ヶ谷) is an area within Shibuya ward, one of the 23 special wards of Tokyo.

The Tokyo Metropolitan Indoor Swimming Pool is an aquatics venue located in Tokyo. It hosted the water polo tournament during the 1964 Summer Olympics. It was constructed initially as the swimming venue for the 1958 Asian Games.

The National Noh Theatre (国立能楽堂, Kokuritsu Nōgaku Dō) opened in Sendagaya, Shibuya, Tokyo, Japan in September 1983. The auditorium seats 591 for performances of Noh and Kyōgen, and there is also a rehearsal stage, exhibition area, lecture room, and reference library. In 2007, the National Noh Theatre began to annually present regular programs by female performers.

It has churches located in Tokyo, Tachikawa, Yokohama, Atsugi, Yokosuka, Osaka, Kobe, Sendai, Sapporo Fukuoka, Hiroshima, Bali, Hong Kong, Taipei, Honolulu, and more The Churches senior pastors, Rod and Viv Plummer, began the church in 2002 in Tokyo with a team of 10 Australians and one Japanese couple.The Church's latest album "No Limit" reached number 1 in the iTunes "Gospel" category in Japan.

Water polo at the 1964 Summer Olympics was held at the Yoyogi National Gymnasium in Shibuya, Tokyo. The gymnasium was built in 1961-1964 as the first indoor pool for Olympic water polo; it also hosted all swimming and diving events and could accommodate over 13,000 people. In the water polo tournament, two teams from each of the four preliminary groups advanced to two semi-finals, and their four winners competed for the medals. The scores from preliminary rounds were taken into account in the semifinals, and the scores from the semifinals were taken into account in the finals.

Tokyo Metropolitan Gymnasium (東京体育館, Tōkyō Taiikukan) is a sporting complex in Sendagaya, Shibuya, Tokyo, Japan. Built in 1954 for the World Wrestling Championship, it was also used as the venue for gymnastics at the 1964 Summer Olympics, and hosted the table tennis competition at the 2020 Summer Olympics. The gymnasium was rebuilt to a futuristic design created by Pritzker Prize winner Fumihiko Maki from 1986 to 1990. The gymnasium is a one-minute walk from Sendagaya Station on the Chūō-Sōbu Line and Kokuritsu Kyogijo Station on the Toei Oedo Line.

At the 1964 Summer Olympics, fourteen different artistic gymnastics events were contested, eight for men and six for women. All events were held at the Tokyo Metropolitan Gymnasium in Tokyo from 18 October through 23 October.The scoring in all the events was the same, as for gymnastics events at the previous Olympics. The six best gymnasts on the apparatus in the team competition (by sum of two scores - for compulsory and optional routine) qualified for that apparatus finals. Each of the women's events was judged by five judges. The highest and lowest marks were dropped and an average of three remaining ones constituted the score. Each of the men's events were judged by four judges. The highest and lowest marks were dropped and an average of two remaining ones constituted the score.

The Embassy of Turkey in Tokyo (Japanese: 駐日トルコ共和国大使館; Turkish: Türkiye'nin Tokyo Büyükelçiliği) is the diplomatic mission of Turkey in Japan. It was established in 1925. The Japan National Stadium, officially named National Stadium (国立競技場, Kokuritsu Kyōgijō) and formerly known as New National Stadium (新国立競技場, Shin Kokuritsu Kyōgijō) or Olympic Stadium (オリンピックスタジアム, Orinpikku Sutajiamu, during 2020 Summer Olympics and Paralympics), is a multi-purpose stadium used mostly for association football in Kasumigaoka, Shinjuku, Tokyo, Japan. The facility served as the main stadium for the opening and closing ceremonies, as well as the venue for track and field athletics events at the 2020 Summer Olympics and 2020 Summer Paralympics in 2021. Demolition of the old National Stadium was completed in May 2015, allowing for the construction of the new stadium to begin on 11 December 2016. The original plans for the new stadium were scrapped in July 2015 by Japanese prime minister Shinzo Abe, who announced a rebid after a public outcry prompted by increased building costs. As a result, the new design was not ready for the 2019 Rugby World Cup, as originally intended. A new design created by architect Kengo Kuma was chosen in December 2015 to replace the original design, which was completed on 30 November 2019.

Brazil competed at the 1964 Summer Olympics in Tokyo, Japan. 61 competitors, 60 men and 1 woman, took part in 17 events in 11 sports. The country single medal in 1964 was the bronze obtained by the men's basketball team.
