Glasgow is an unincorporated community in Coos County, Oregon, United States. For statistical purposes, the United States Census Bureau has defined Glasgow as a census-designated place (CDP). The census definition of the area may not precisely correspond to local understanding of the area with the same name. As of the 2010 census the Glasgow CDP had a population of 763. The place name for Glasgow in the Coos language is Kdet.Glasgow is located on the north side of Coos Bay, about 6 miles (10 km) north of the city of Coos Bay, just east of U.S. Route 101.The community was founded by real estate speculators in the 1890s, including Henry L. Pittock, Phil Metschan, and Admiral Schley of the Pacific Coal & Transportation Company. The community did not flourish until 30 years after its founding, when construction of Route 101 made Glasgow the northern terminus of the ferry from North Bend, which was used to cross the bay prior to the completion of the Coos Bay Bridge. The place was supposedly named by a Scot because it reminded him of Glasgow, Scotland, but the authors of Oregon Geographic Names were unable to verify this.Glasgow has a store and a Grange hall, the North Bayside Grange, also known as the Glasgow Grange, that was built in 1928. A humorous sign at the store states that the community's population is "275.5", the .5 for store owner and "self-proclaimed mayor", Jack S. Stevens.

Haynes Inlet Bridge (or Haynes Inlet Slough Bridge) is a bridge that carries U.S. Route 101 (US 101) over Haynes Inlet. The arches are cast in place and post-tensioned.

The Conde B. McCullough Memorial Bridge, is a cantilever bridge that spans the Coos Bay on U.S. Route 101 near North Bend, Oregon. When completed in 1936 it was named the North Bend Bridge. In 1947 it was renamed in honor of Conde B. McCullough who died May 5, 1946. This and 10 other major bridges on the Oregon Coast Highway were designed under his supervision. The Conde B. McCullough Memorial Bridge replaced ferries that had formerly crossed the bay. The bridge is outstanding for its attention to form and detail, and has been placed on the National Register of Historic Places in recognition of its design and cultural and economic importance.

The Oregon International Port of Coos Bay is a port of the Pacific coast of the United States, located in Coos Bay near the city of Coos Bay, Oregon. It is the largest deep-draft coastal harbor between San Francisco Bay and Puget Sound, and is Oregon's second busiest maritime commerce center after the Port of Portland. The port operates the 134-mile Coos Bay Rail Link which connects the port to Eugene, Oregon and the national rail network.In the mid-1900s, the Port of Coos Bay held the title of "world's largest lumber shipping port". Lumber ships loaded with whole-log loads of the region's prized Douglas fir, Western hemlock, and Port Orford cedar timber were a common sight at the docks.

It serves students in grades 6-12; middle school students (grades 6-8) attend classes at North Bend Middle School, while students in grades 9-12 attend classes at North Bend High School.

North Bend is a city in Coos County, Oregon, United States with a population of 9,695 as of the 2010 census. North Bend is surrounded on three sides by Coos Bay, an S-shaped water inlet and estuary where the Coos River enters Coos Bay and borders the city of Coos Bay to the south. North Bend became an incorporated city in 1903.

Coast Guard Air Station North Bend (CGAS North Bend) was established September 28, 1974 at Southwest Oregon Regional Airport in North Bend, Oregon, United States. The unit houses 153 active duty, nine reserve duty and five civilian personnel. The unit operates five Eurocopter HH-65 Dolphin helicopters. CGAS North Bend received its first upgraded HH-65C Dolphin in 2007 The unit functions include search and rescue, law enforcement, marine environmental protection, aids to navigation, and enforcement of federal treaties.

Cooston is an unincorporated community in Coos County, Oregon, United States. It is located on the east shore of Coos Bay across from North Bend, about eight miles from the city of Coos Bay.The origin of the name Cooston is the same of that of Coos County, after the Coos people. Cooston post office was established in 1908 and closed in 1939. The post office was named by town founder William E. Homme, who was also the first postmaster. Homme's father was the founder of Wittenberg, Wisconsin. The post office was in Homme's store. Before moving to Cooston, Homme published the Glendale News in Glendale.

North Bend High School is a public high school in North Bend, Oregon, United States.

Southwest Oregon Regional Airport (IATA: OTH, ICAO: KOTH, FAA LID: OTH), formerly North Bend Municipal Airport, is a public airport in North Bend, Coos County, Oregon, United States. It is operated by the Coos County Airport District. OTH covers 619 acres (251 ha) of land.The airport changed its name in April 2006 to avoid confusion with Bend, in central Oregon. It is the only airport on the Oregon Coast with passenger service. North Bend/Coos Bay is served by United Express (SkyWest) which flies nonstop to San Francisco International Airport (since about July 2008); before the SFO flights, United Express flew OTH to Portland International Airport non-stop. This ended on February 16, 2012. United Express also has a seasonal nonstop flight to Denver. In January 2012 now defunct SeaPort Airlines began daily flights to Portland; by early 2016 SeaPort announced that they were ending their service to North Bend/Coos Bay. On the heels of the announcement by SeaPort, PenAir announced they would begin non-stop Saab 340 service between Portland and North Bend beginning March 21, 2016. SeaPort ceased operations at North Bend on March 20, 2016. The federally subsidized air service provided by PenAir proved to be short-lived and on August 4, 2017, PenAir announced the North Bend/Coos Bay service was terminated effective as of August 7, 2017.OTH had airline service on Horizon Air, direct to Portland International Airport beginning in 1982. Horizon Air ended the OTH-PDX flight on October 11, 2008. The airport is seeing more private and corporate jets bringing golfers to Bandon Dunes Golf Resort; the resort is a 20-minute drive from the OTH airport. The Coos County Airport District designed and opened a new terminal facility in July 2008; in February 2009 a new air traffic control tower opened.

Saunders Lake is an unincorporated community and census-designated place (CDP) in Coos County, Oregon, United States. It was first listed as a CDP prior to the 2020 census.The CDP is in northwestern Coos County, along U.S. Route 101, 11 miles (18 km) north of Coos Bay and 16 miles (26 km) south of Reedsport. Saunders Lake, a small water body, is in the northern part of the CDP, draining north through Clear Lake to Saunders Creek, which flows north to Tenmile Creek between Lakeside and the Pacific Ocean. The Saunders Lake CDP is bordered to the west by the Oregon Dunes National Recreation Area.
