Bernal/Singleton Transfer Location is a bus-only station located along Bernal Drive and Singleton Blvd. in Dallas, Texas (USA). Unlike many transit centers, Bernal/Singleton Transfer Location does not provide parking, however it does provide an air conditioned/heating facility available on weekday rush hours. It was intended to become a future rail station on the west rail line towards Grand Prairie as part of DART's 2030 Transit System Plan, though the line was removed from subsequent plans.

Chester W. Nimitz High School is a public high school in the Irving Independent School District, Irving, Texas. It was named for U.S. Navy Admiral Chester W. Nimitz. Nimitz faculty totals approximately 179 with approximately 39% having advanced degrees.Nimitz High School's Academic Decathlon team won the state championship in 2004 and has placed in the top 5 since the school's establishment. The JROTC Team competes at the state and national level in many categories. The JROTC Team won the state championship in 2020, most notable are the Black Knights and the Instructors: LT Smalls (USN Retired), First Sergeant Carbajal (USMC Retired). Nimitz received a B (80) for its scaled score on the Texas Education Agency's 2019 Accountability overall rating, and received a distinction designation for comparative academic growth.

The Joy and Ralph Ellis Stadium is a stadium at 600 East 6th Street, Irving, Texas, United States. It is used for American football and association football (soccer) matches, and also sometimes for athletics. The stadium opened in 1956 and has a capacity of 12,500.Up until October 28, 2016, it was named Irving Schools Stadium. KMNY (1360 kHz) is a commercial AM radio station licensed to Hurst, Texas, and serving the Dallas Fort Worth Metroplex. It is owned by Multicultural Broadcasting and broadcasts a Spanish-language Christian radio format known as "La Voz 1360." KMNY uses a brokered programming approach, where preachers buy blocks of time on the station and can ask for donations during their shows to support their ministries. By day, it is powered at 50,000 watts, the maximum for AM radio stations licensed by the Federal Communications Commission. But at night, to protect other stations on 1360 AM, it reduces power to 890 watts. While the daytime signal covers the Metroplex, the nighttime signal is limited to a smaller area west of Dallas. KMNY uses a directional antenna at all times, employing a six-tower array after sunset. The transmitter is off MacArthur Boulevard in Grand Prairie, Texas.

The 1971 shooting of Dallas County and Ellis County Sheriff's Deputies (also known as the Trinity River Massacre) occurred on February 15, 1971, when Rene Guzman and Leonardo Lopez abducted five law enforcement officers in West Dallas, Texas, killing three officers and injuring one at a site near the Trinity River. One deputy was able to escape the shooting and call for help. Guzman and Lopez were suspects in a burglary in Ellis County, Texas, and the officers were obtaining consent-to-search forms when they were abducted. Guzman and Lopez were able to escape after the shootings, beginning a manhunt that led to their arrest in East Dallas. Guzman and Lopez were tried, found guilty, and sentenced to death. However, following issues in the court case and the death penalty being declared unconstitutional, they were given a retrial. Both were given four life sentences. Lopez was paroled in 1991, but was incarcerated again for a separate case.

Downtown Irving/Heritage Crossing station (formerly South Irving Transit Center and later South Irving station) is a Trinity Railway Express commuter rail and bus station in Irving, Texas. It is located on Rock Island Road, east of O'Connor Road. It opened on December 30, 1996, and serves downtown Irving, including the Irving Heritage District and the Irving Civic Center (city offices), which is two blocks west of the station. This station is also served by Dallas Area Rapid Transit (DART). On July 30, 2012, South Irving station was renamed Downtown Irving/Heritage Crossing station as part of the service changes effective for that date to better reflect new identities created by their evolving neighborhoods or surrounding developments.

Irving High School is a public high school in Irving, Texas. It was the first high school established in the Irving Independent School District. Irving High School includes, like all the other Irving ISD high schools, wireless internet in the classrooms, Chromebooks in every classroom, and a Distance Learning Lab. In 2009, the school was rated "academically acceptable" by the Texas Education Agency.

Cockrell Hill is a city in Dallas County, Texas, United States. The population was 4,193 at the 2010 census, and 3,18 in 2020. It is completely surrounded by the city of Dallas.

The Bagdad Supper Club was a theater and entertainment venue located on north side of what then was U.S. Route 80, but now is Texas State Highway 180, east of Grand Prairie, Texas, at the corner of Bagdad Road and Main Street. It opened Thanksgiving Day 1928, eleven months before the Great Crash of 1929. It was an opulent palatial facility that offered dining, dancing, and music. The venue was featured in the 1947 comedy Juke Joint, starring Spencer Williams. J. Wiley Day was the inaugural managing director. The club was constructed by the Bagdad Enterprises, Inc., a Texas corporation, controlled by Eastern capital. The corporation was a subsidiary of a large Eastern company that confined itself to various theatrical lines. The architect was W. Scott Dunne (1886–1937), a well-known designer of theaters in Texas.
