Chester W. Nimitz High School is a public high school in the Irving Independent School District, Irving, Texas. It was named for U.S. Navy Admiral Chester W. Nimitz. Nimitz High School is one of five public high schools in the Irving Independent School District. As of 2018, the school ethnicity was 1% Native American, 2.1% Asian, 7.7% African American, 8.7% White, and 79.5% Hispanic. Approximately 69% are considered economically disadvantaged. Nimitz faculty totals approximately 179 with approximately 39% having advanced degrees.Nimitz High School's Academic Decathlon team won the state championship in 2004 and has placed in the top 5 since the school's establishment. The JROTC Team competes at the state and national level in many categories. The JROTC Team won the state championship in 2020, most notable are the Black Knights and the Instructors: LT Smalls (USN Retired), First Sergeant Carbajal (USMC Retired). Nimitz received a B (80) for its scaled score on the Texas Education Agency's 2019 Accountability overall rating, and received a distinction designation for comparative academic growth.

The Joy and Ralph Ellis Stadium is a stadium at 600 East 6th Street, Irving, Texas, United States. It is used for American football and association football (soccer) matches, and also sometimes for athletics. The stadium opened in 1956 and has a capacity of 12,500.Up until October 28, 2016, it was named Irving Schools Stadium. Downtown Irving/Heritage Crossing station (formerly South Irving Transit Center and later South Irving station) is a Trinity Railway Express commuter rail and bus station in Irving, Texas. It is located on Rock Island Road, east of O'Connor Road. It opened on December 30, 1996, and serves downtown Irving, including the Irving Heritage District and the Irving Civic Center (city offices), which is two blocks west of the station. This station is also served by Dallas Area Rapid Transit (DART). On July 30, 2012, South Irving station was renamed Downtown Irving/Heritage Crossing station as part of the service changes effective for that date to better reflect new identities created by their evolving neighborhoods or surrounding developments.

KLIF-FM (93.3 MHz, "Newstalk WBAP") is a commercial radio station licensed to Haltom City, Texas, and serving the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex. The station is owned by Cumulus Media, and the broadcast license is held by Radio License Holding SRC LLC. It broadcasts a news/talk radio format, as a simulcast of WBAP in Fort Worth. The studios and offices are in the Victory Park district in Dallas just north of downtown. The KLIF call sign has a long history of being associated with CHR/Top 40 music; the original KLIF (at 1190 AM) was Dallas/Fort Worth's most popular Top 40 music station in the 1960s and 1970s. KLIF-FM's transmitter site is on Singleton Boulevard in West Dallas near the I-30/Loop 12 interchange. It has an effective radiated power (ERP) of 50,000 watts, with its tower at 120 meters (394 ft) in height above average terrain (HAAT). This gives KLIF-FM a limited signal, with most Dallas FM stations powered at 100,000 watts, and with towers four times taller than KLIF-FM. It is licensed by iBiquity to broadcast a digital HD Radio signal. KLIF-FM stopped transmitting its digital signals in late November 2011 and resumed in early January 2012 before ceasing again in 2014. In May 2022, KLIF-FM resumed its digital broadcasts again.

Texas Trust CU Theatre is an American concert hall located in Grand Prairie, Texas, 16 miles west of Dallas and 24 miles east of Fort Worth. It is near Lone Star Park and AirHogs Stadium. The theatre is currently operated by AEG and owned by the City of Grand Prairie.

Lone Star Park is a horse racing track and entertainment destination located 1⁄2 mile north of Interstate 30 on Belt Line Road in Grand Prairie, Texas. Lone Star Park has two live racing seasons every year; the spring Thoroughbred season generally runs from early April through mid-July, and the Fall Meeting of Champions generally runs from early September through mid-November.

StoneGate Christian Academy (SGCA) is a private Christian school educating students entering high school, elementary and pre-school. It opened as a ministry of the Shady Grove Church in 1976 and became an independent 503(c) organization in April 2005. They are located near Highways 183 and 161 in Irving, Texas.

The Ruth Paine Home at 2515 W. 5th Street in Irving, Texas, United States, is the location where Lee Harvey Oswald spent the night before he assassinated United States President John F. Kennedy on November 22, 1963, at Dealey Plaza. It was from the house's garage that he removed the rifle he used for the assassination, which he had previously concealed there. The house was placed on the National Register of Historic Places (NRHP) in November 2014.

Grand Prairie Stadium (formerly QuikTrip Park and The Ballpark in Grand Prairie) is a cricket ground and former ballpark in Grand Prairie, Texas. Opened in May 2008, it served as the home stadium of the Texas AirHogs of the American Association of Professional Baseball from 2008 through 2019, and of the USL League Two soccer team Texas United from 2017 to 2019. After the AirHogs folded in October 2020, it was announced that American Cricket Enterprises—the commercial partner of USA Cricket—had acquired the lease to AirHogs Stadium, and planned to redevelop the ballpark as a cricket ground. The $20 million redevelopment began in April 2022, after which the stadium hosted the Texas Super Kings in the domestic Twenty20 league Major League Cricket. The stadium also serves as a home and training facility for the United States national team.

Irving High School is a public high school in Irving, Texas. It was the first high school established in the Irving Independent School District. Irving High School includes, like all the other Irving ISD high schools, wireless internet in the classrooms, Chromebooks in every classroom, and a Distance Learning Lab. In 2009, the school was rated "academically acceptable" by the Texas Education Agency.

The Bagdad Supper Club was a theater and entertainment venue located on north side of what then was U.S. Route 80, but now is Texas State Highway 180, east of Grand Prairie, Texas, at the corner of Bagdad Road and Main Street. It opened Thanksgiving Day 1928, eleven months before the Great Crash of 1929. It was an opulent palatial facility that offered dining, dancing, and music. The venue was featured in the 1947 comedy Juke Joint, starring Spencer Williams. J. Wiley Day was the inaugural managing director. The club was constructed by the Bagdad Enterprises, Inc., a Texas corporation, controlled by Eastern capital. The corporation was a subsidiary of a large Eastern company that confined itself to various theatrical lines. The architect was W. Scott Dunne (1886–1937), a well-known designer of theaters in Texas.
