Bristol Technology and Engineering Academy (or BTE Academy) was a University Technical College (UTC) that opened in September 2013 in Stoke Gifford, just north of Bristol, England. The University of the West of England and City of Bristol College were the lead academic sponsors of the UTC, and Airbus and GKN were the lead business sponsors of the UTC.

Stoke Gifford Stadium is an association football stadium based in Filton, in South Gloucestershire, England. Until August 2020 it was the home of FA Women's Super League team Bristol City W.F.C. and the Bristol Aztecs american football team. It is part of the South Gloucestershire and Stroud College and was opened in 2011 under the name of Kip Keino Athletic Stadium as it has an athletics track around it.The cost of the development was £875,000 with £450,000 coming from Bristol City Council. Bristol City moved into the stadium in 2011 at the same time as the Aztecs and the Kenyan athletics team used it as a training venue for the 2012 Summer Olympics. The stadium has a capacity of 1,500, the main stand seating 300. The nearest railway stations are Bristol Parkway and Filton Abbey Wood.

Stoke Gifford depot (or the Filton Triangle depot) is a railway depot built for AT300 units from the Hitachi A-train procured under the Intercity Express Programme. The depot is situated between Filton and Stoke Gifford at a junction intersection of the Cross Country Route, South Wales Main Line and the Filton to Avonmouth Docks line. It is operated by Agility Trains as part of its contract to maintain the Class 800 fleet operated by Great Western Railway.

Stoke Gifford is a village and parish in South Gloucestershire, England. It had around 11,000 residents at the 2001 census, increasing to 15,494 at the 2011 census and then to 19,794 in the 2021 Census. It is served by Bristol Parkway railway station and is home to Stoke Gifford depot, on the London-South Wales railway line. As well as the Bristol offices of Aviva which took over Friends Life in 2015, Hewlett Packard and the University of the West of England. The parish includes neighbouring Little Stoke, Harry Stoke and Stoke Park. The parish borders Filton, to the south-west, Patchway to the north west, Bradley Stoke to the north and Winterbourne and Hambrook to the east. To the south Stoke Gifford is served by the Bristol Ring Road, south of this a large green area known as the 'Green Lung' stretches to the inner city area of St Werburghs.

Harry Stoke is a village in the parish of Stoke Gifford, South Gloucestershire, England.

Bristol Parkway, on the South Wales Main Line, is in the Stoke Gifford area in the northern suburbs of the Bristol conurbation. It is 112 miles (180 km) from London Paddington. The station was opened in 1972 by British Rail, and was the first in a new generation of park and ride/parkway stations. It is the third-most heavily used station in the West of England local authority area, after Bristol Temple Meads and Bath Spa. There are four platforms, and a well-equipped waiting area. The station is managed by Great Western Railway, who provide most of the trains at the station, with CrossCountry providing the rest. Electrification using 25 kV 50 Hz AC overhead system reached Bristol Parkway in late 2018, and electric trains in the Swindon and London direction commenced passenger service on 30 December 2018. This is part of the 21st-century modernisation of the Great Western Main Line.

The Military Aviation Authority (MAA) is an organisation within the United Kingdom (UK) Ministry of Defence (MOD), and is the single regulatory authority responsible for regulating all aspects of air safety across all service branches of the British Armed Forces. The MAA has full oversight of all defence aviation activity within the United Kingdom, and overseas locations where British military aircraft are permanently based or deployed on a temporary basis. The MAA is also responsible for the allocation and assignment of the United Kingdom military aircraft registration number to all military aircraft on the United Kingdom Military Aircraft Register (UK MAR). The Military Aviation Authority is part of the MoD, but operates independently, via a Charter signed by the Secretary of State for Defence.

MOD Abbey Wood is a Ministry of Defence establishment at Filton, Bristol, United Kingdom. The purpose-built site houses the MOD's Defence Equipment and Support and Submarine Delivery Agency procurement organisations. It was opened by Queen Elizabeth II in July 1996, after which 15 government departments employing some 13,400 people relocated to the site.

The Defence Procurement Agency (DPA), was an Executive Agency of the United Kingdom Ministry of Defence responsible for the acquisition of materiel, equipment and services, for the British armed forces. Led by the Chief of Defence Procurement, the Agency sourced equipment and services from its headquarters in Bristol.

Defence Equipment and Support (DE&S) is a trading entity and joint-defence organisation within the UK Ministry of Defence. It began operating on 2 April 2007, following the merger of the MoD's Defence Procurement Agency and the Defence Logistics Organisation, under the Chief Executive Officer of Defence Equipment and Support.DE&S initially had a civilian and military workforce of around 29,000 (77 per cent civilian and 23 per cent military) in the UK and abroad. As of 2022 the DE&S workforce had reduced to around 11,500 with the majority based at MoD Abbey Wood in Bristol.

Filton Abbey Wood railway station serves the town of Filton in South Gloucestershire, England. It is 4.4 miles (7.1 km) from Bristol Temple Meads. There are four platforms but minimal facilities. The station is managed by Great Western Railway that operates all services. The general service level is eight trains per hour - two to South Wales, two to Bristol Parkway, two toward Weston-super-Mare and two toward Westbury. Filton Abbey Wood is the third station on the site. The first station, Filton, was opened in 1863 by the Bristol and South Wales Union Railway. The station had a single platform, with a second added in 1886 to cope with traffic from the Severn Tunnel. The station was closed in 1903, replaced by a new station, Filton Junction, 0.15 miles (0.24 km) further north, which was built at the junction with the newly constructed Badminton Line from Wootton Bassett Junction. The new station had four platforms, each with waiting rooms and large canopies. Services at Filton Junction declined in the second half of the twentieth century, with the station buildings and Badminton Line platforms demolished in 1976. The station was closed completely in September 1996, replaced by the current station, Filton Abbey Wood. This was built 0.3 miles (0.48 km) south of the original station, adjacent to the new Ministry of Defence office development of MoD Abbey Wood, which was opened in 1996. The station was built with two platforms, but a third was added in 2004 and a fourth in 2018. The line through Filton Abbey Wood is not electrified. Platform 4 was completed in 2018 as part of the Filton Bank four-tracking project, allowing increased services between Bristol Parkway and Bristol Temple Meads.
