Candover Brook

The Old Church of St Mary the Virgin is a redundant Anglican church in the village of Preston Candover, Hampshire, England. It is recorded in the National Heritage List for England as a designated Grade II* listed building, and is under the care of the Churches Conservation Trust. Only the chancel of the church has survived. It is situated towards the south of the village, on the northwest side of the B3046 road.

Preston Candover is a village and large civil parish in Hampshire, England. It has two churches, only one of which is still in use. Its nearest town is Basingstoke, approximately 4.5 miles (7.2 km) away. It has an acreage of 3,457 acres (13.99 km2), which lies on comparatively low ground, south of the high country round the surrounding villages of Farleigh Wallop and Nutley, and north-west of that which rises to Wield and beyond to Bentworth. The village itself lies on the lowest ground towards the west of the parish on the road which comes northeast from Northington and the two other Candovers, and runs across the parish to enter Nutley at Axford and continues uphill to Farleigh Wallop and then to Basingstoke. The village was home to the late Lord Sainsbury of Preston Candover and his wife Anya Linden, of the supermarket Sainsbury family.

Preston Candover Long Barrow is an unchambered long barrow located near to the village of Preston Candover in the south-eastern English county of Hampshire. The archaeologist Ian Kinnes classed the Preston Candover example alongside the Badshot Lea Long Barrow in Surrey as the two known examples located on the North Downs.

Chilton Candover is a village and former civil parish, now in the parish of Candovers, in the Basingstoke and Deane district, in the county of Hampshire, England. It has an acreage of 1,451 acres (5.87 km2) and sits in the valley of the River Alre. The village is situated on the main road from Basingstoke to Winchester, and consists of a few scattered houses built of brick and roofed with slate, thatch and tiles. To the north lies an underground churchyard enclosed by a flint stone wall, now abandoned and overgrown with weeds. In 1931 the parish had a population of 68.Its nearest town is New Alresford, 5.5 miles (8.9 km) away from the village. Its nearest railway station is the restored Watercress Line, at New Alresford.

It is located approximately 5.6 miles (9.0 km) south-west from Basingstoke, just off the B3046 road. The parish has an acreage of 1,524 acres (617 ha) with 74 acres (30 ha) made up of permanent grass and 386 acres (156 ha) of woodland.

Bradley is a small village and civil parish in the Basingstoke and Deane district of Hampshire, England. Its nearest town is Alton, which lies 5.4 miles (8.7 km) southeast from the village, although Basingstoke lies 6.6 miles (10.6 km) to the north. According to the 2011 census, the village had a population of 202 people. The parish covers an area of 975 acres (395 ha), of which 149 acres (60 ha) is woodland and its highest point is 170 metres (560 ft) above sea level. It contains no hamlets. The village was first mentioned in a charter made by Edward the Elder in 909, and was confirmed to be part of Overton at the time of the Domesday Survey. Bradley later became a separate manor and passed through several families throughout the centuries. The village contains a total of seven Grade II listed buildings, and one Grade II* listed building—the Church of All Saints. Other listed buildings include three large farmhouses and a K6 telephone box which sits beside the village pond. Its nearest railway station is at Alton, approximately 5 miles (8.0 km) away.

At one time, Lower Wield came under the large parish of Bentworth until its decline in the mid-19th century. Although today, Wield's parish borders the parish of Bentworth.The village has one public house, The Yew Tree.

In 2021 the parish had a population of 237.The parish council meets quarterly at the parish hall in Upper Wield.Wield as a civil parish is separate from the church parish. The parish church, dedicated to St James, is also in Upper Wield. It is mainly Norman, and is a Grade I listed building.

Dummer is a parish and village in Hampshire, England. It is 6 miles south-west of Basingstoke and half a mile south of Junction 7 on the M3 motorway. In the 2001 census, it had a population of 643, with 127 dwellings, reducing to a population of 466 in 201 households at the 2011 Census.
