Krka (Sava)

Čatež ob Savi (pronounced [ˈtʃaːtɛʃ ɔp ˈsaːʋi]; German: Tschatesch) is a village on the right bank of the Sava River at its confluence with the Krka River in the Municipality of Brežice in eastern Slovenia. The area is part of the traditional region of Lower Carniola. It is now included with the rest of the municipality in the Lower Sava Statistical Region.

Brežice Castle (Slovene: Grad Brežice, German: Schloss Rann) is a 16th-century castle in the town of Brežice, in southeastern Slovenia, at the street address Cesta prvih borcev 1.As with the town, the castle's name derives from the diminutive plural of the Slovene word breg, 'riverbank', in reference to the nearby Sava and Krka rivers.

The Brežice Water Tower was built in 1914, together with a city sewage system and electrification. It used to serve as the water supply for Brežice until the new water house was built below Šentvid Hill above the town. It is 46 meters (151 ft) high and it is one of the most prominent buildings in town. Today the water tower houses a pub.

Dvorce (pronounced [ˈdʋoːɾtsɛ]; in older sources also Dvorice, German: Dworichdorf) is a settlement southeast of Čatež ob Savi in the Municipality of Brežice in eastern Slovenia. The area is part of the traditional region of Lower Carniola. It is now included with the rest of the municipality in the Lower Sava Statistical Region.An Ancient Roman era burial ground has been found in the settlement. Mound burials, Latobici-type graves, and shallow skeletal burials of infants dating to the 2nd and 3rd centuries AD have been uncovered.

Brežice (pronounced [ˈbɾèːʒitsɛ] (listen); German: Rann [ʁan]) is a town in eastern Slovenia in the Lower Sava Valley, near the Croatian border. It is the seat of the Municipality of Brežice. It lies in the center of the Brežice Plain (Slovene: Brežiško polje), which is part of the larger Krka Flat (Slovene: Krška ravan). The area was traditionally divided between Lower Styria (territory on the left bank of the Sava River) and Lower Carniola (territory on the right bank of the Sava River). It is one of the largest regional museums in the country. A more recent landmark addition to the town is its water tower, as well as the double arches of the 527 m long iron bridge, which spans the Sava and Krka rivers.

The Brežice Grammar School (Slovene: Gimnazija Brežice) is located in Brežice, Slovenia. It is a coeducational nondenominational state secondary general education school for students aged between 15 and 19. It prepares them for university, which they can enroll at after passing the matura (leaving exam).

Cerina (pronounced [tsɛˈɾiːna]; German: Zerina) is a settlement south of Čatež ob Savi in the Municipality of Brežice in eastern Slovenia. It is now included with the rest of the municipality in the Lower Sava Statistical Region.A 17th-century mansion in the settlement was originally the estate of the Kostanjevica Monastery. Three sides around the central courtyard are living quarters and the fourth side is closed off with a chapel dedicated to Saint Michael.
