La Cure

The Hotel Arbez, also called the Hôtel Arbez Franco-Suisse or l’Arbézie, is a hotel that straddles the international border between France and Switzerland in the tiny village of La Cure, which is itself divided by the boundary. Built by a private landowner and businessman specially to take advantage of an impending border adjustment between the two countries, the structure was originally used as a grocery store (its Swiss portion) and a pub (the French half). Today, the entire building houses a hotel, whose dining room, kitchen and several rooms are bisected by the boundary.

Les Rousses (French pronunciation: [le ʁus]) is a commune in the Canton of Hauts de Bienne of Jura department in the Bourgogne-Franche-Comté region in eastern France, on the Swiss border. The Lac des Rousses is located northeast of the village of Les Rousses beside the road to the village of Bois d'Amont. The Lac de Lamoura is located southwest of the village of Les Rousses beside the road to the village of Lamoura. Other places include the village of Prémanon, and La Cure, the transit point across the Swiss border towards Saint-Cergue.

Col de la Givrine (el. 1228 m.) is a high mountain pass in the Jura Mountains in the canton of Vaud in Switzerland, near the border with France. It connects Nyon in Switzerland and Morez in France. The maximum grade of the pass road is 8 percent. The pass is crossed by the Nyon–St-Cergue–La Cure railway, although the railway stops at the French border. It is the highest railway in the Jura Mountains.

Prémanon (French pronunciation: [pʁemanɔ̃]) is a commune in the Jura department in Bourgogne-Franche-Comté in eastern France.

Lac des Rousses is a lake in Les Rousses, Jura department, Franche-Comté, France, close to the Vallée de Joux in Switzerland. The lake drains through the Orbe (river) into Lac de Joux.

Le Noirmont is a mountain of the Jura, located north of Saint-Cergue in the canton of Vaud. At 1,567 metres, it is the highest mountain between the Col de la Givrine and Mont Tendre. Although Le Noirmont is wholly in Switzerland, the border with France runs on the western base of the mountain. The closest localities are La Cure and Les Rousses.

La Dôle is a mountain of the Jura, overlooking Lake Geneva in the westernmost part of the canton of Vaud. Rising to an altitude of 1677 meters, it is the second highest peak in the Swiss portion of the Jura, after Mont Tendre. Administratively, the summit is split between the municipalities of Gingins, Chéserex and La Rippe. The mountain is also close to and easily accessible from Saint-Cergue and the Col de la Givrine to the north, both above 1000 meters and connected to Nyon on Lake Geneva by road and by the Nyon–St-Cergue–Morez Railway. A paved road also climbs to the Chalet de la Dôle below the summit (1439 m) from Gingins.La Dôle overlooks to south-east the summit of La Barillette, the town of Nyon, Lake Geneva and across the lake the Alps, including the Bernese Alps the Chablais Alps and the Mont Blanc massif. To the south are views of the City of Geneva and the Canton of Geneva; to the north the village of Les Rousses. The Dôle massif has a second peak to the northeast, the Pointe de Poêle Chaud, accessible via the col between them which drops to 1557 m. La Dôle massif is the northwesternmost part of the Swiss Plateau. To the southwest it ends at the Col de la Faucille, and to the northwest at the Valserine valley, a Rhône tributary. To the north it ends at the Col de la Givrine, and towards the southeast merges into the Swiss Plateau. The northwestern side of La Dôle is equipped with ski-lifts and is traversed by alpine ski paths. There is a restricted-access cable car which provides service to the various electronic facilities on the top, including a ball containing aviation radar, a Swiss weather station, television, radio and EBU telecommunications.

Hauts de Bienne (before 2021: Morez) is a canton in the département of Jura, France. It belongs to the Arrondissement of Saint-Claude. La Barillette (1,525 m) is one of the highest points of Canton Vaud's Jura mountains in Switzerland.

Hauts de Bienne (French pronunciation: [o də bjɛn]) is a commune in the Jura department of eastern France. The municipality was established on 1 January 2016 by merger of the former communes of Morez, Lézat and La Mouille. The commune was named after the river Bienne, that passes through it.

The Musée de la Lunette is a museum of eyeglasses located in Morez (Jura - Franche-Comté), France. It was formerly located in Paris, with the name Musée Pierre Marly - Lunettes et Lorgnettes.The museum was created by Pierre Marly, optician to crowned heads, public figures and celebrities. It contains almost 3,000 objects, ranging from spectacles dating from the 13th century to wooden Inuit snow goggles, with a permanent exhibition of lorgnettes, glasses, telescopes, and binoculars of all shapes and sizes. Items of interest include glasses made for cats and dogs, Maria Callas' contact lens, and glasses belonging to Princess Victoire of France (daughter of Louis XV), the Dalai Lama, Marlene Dietrich, Sammy Davis, Jr., Elton John, and lorgnettes belonging to Sarah Bernhardt.

Morez (French pronunciation: [mɔʁe]) is a former commune of the Jura department in Bourgogne-Franche-Comté in eastern France. On 1 January 2016, it was merged into the new commune of Hauts de Bienne.The town is mostly known for the manufacture of spectacles. From 1680 to 1920, Morez was with Morbier the center of Comtoise clock production.
