Morez

Hauts de Bienne (French pronunciation: [o də bjɛn]) is a commune in the Jura department of eastern France. The municipality was established on 1 January 2016 by merger of the former communes of Morez, Lézat and La Mouille. The commune was named after the river Bienne, that passes through it.

The Musée de la Lunette is a museum of eyeglasses located in Morez (Jura - Franche-Comté), France. It was formerly located in Paris, with the name Musée Pierre Marly - Lunettes et Lorgnettes.The museum was created by Pierre Marly, optician to crowned heads, public figures and celebrities. It contains almost 3,000 objects, ranging from spectacles dating from the 13th century to wooden Inuit snow goggles, with a permanent exhibition of lorgnettes, glasses, telescopes, and binoculars of all shapes and sizes. Items of interest include glasses made for cats and dogs, Maria Callas' contact lens, and glasses belonging to Princess Victoire of France (daughter of Louis XV), the Dalai Lama, Marlene Dietrich, Sammy Davis, Jr., Elton John, and lorgnettes belonging to Sarah Bernhardt.

Morbier (French pronunciation: [mɔʁbje] ) is a commune in the Jura department in the Bourgogne-Franche-Comté region in Eastern France. From 1680 to 1920, Morbier was, with Morez, the centre of Comtoise clock production. It gave its name to the Morbier cheese, which is produced in a larger area in the Jura Mountains. It is part of Haut-Jura Regional Natural Park.

Hauts de Bienne (before 2021: Morez) is a canton in the département of Jura, France. It belongs to the Arrondissement of Saint-Claude. Tancua is a village in the department of Jura in the region of Bourgogne-Franche-Comté, France. Formerly a separate municipality, it was merged with Morbier on 1 January 2007. Its inhabitants are known as Quewans.Tancua was, until well into the 20th century, mainly agricultural, especially for livestock breeding and dairy farming, with somewhat of a logging industry.

La Mouille (French pronunciation: [la muj]) is a former commune in the Jura department in Bourgogne-Franche-Comté in eastern France. On 1 January 2016, it was merged into the new commune of Hauts de Bienne.

Les Rousses (French pronunciation: [le ʁus]) is a commune in the Canton of Hauts de Bienne of Jura department in the Bourgogne-Franche-Comté region in eastern France, on the Swiss border. The Lac des Rousses is located northeast of the village of Les Rousses beside the road to the village of Bois d'Amont. The Lac de Lamoura is located southwest of the village of Les Rousses beside the road to the village of Lamoura. Other places include the village of Prémanon, and La Cure, the transit point across the Swiss border towards Saint-Cergue.

Lézat (French pronunciation: [leza]) is a former commune in the Jura department in Bourgogne-Franche-Comté in eastern France. On 1 January 2016, it was merged into the new commune of Hauts de Bienne.

Lac des Rousses is a lake in Les Rousses, Jura department, Franche-Comté, France, close to the Vallée de Joux in Switzerland. The lake drains through the Orbe (river) into Lac de Joux.

La Cure is a village located some 20 kilometres (15 mi) northwest of Lake Geneva, straddling the Franco-Swiss border. Administratively, the Swiss half of La Cure is part of the municipality of Saint-Cergue, while the French half is part of the municipality of Les Rousses. The international border bisects at least four buildings, notably the Hotel Arbez, in which the dining hall and other rooms are bisected by the border.
