Miklavž na Dravskem Polju

The Municipality of Miklavž na Dravskem Polju (Slovene: Občina Miklavž na Dravskem polju) is a small municipality in northeastern Slovenia. It lies on the right bank of the Drava River southeast of Maribor. The seat of the municipality is the settlement of Miklavž na Dravskem Polju. The area is part of the traditional region of Lower Styria. It is now included in the Drava Statistical Region.

The Tezno massacre (Croatian: Pokolj u Teznom) was the mass killing of POWs and civilians of the Independent State of Croatia (NDH) that took place in Tezno near Maribor, after the end of World War II in Yugoslavia. The killings were perpetrated by units of the Yugoslav Partisans in May 1945, in the Bleiburg repatriations. Summary executions began on 19 May when first prisoners arrived to the Tezno forest from nearby prison camps and continued until 26 May. Most of the bodies were buried in a several kilometers long antitank trench, which the Yugoslav authorities concealed and kept secret. It is estimated that around 15,000 soldiers and civilians were killed in the massacre. The graves were discovered in 1999 during a highway construction. Additional research of the burial sites was conducted in 2007 by the Commission on Concealed Mass Graves in Slovenia. In 2012, the Slovenian Government unveiled a memorial park at Tezno, where an annual commemoration is held.

Rogoza (pronounced [ɾɔˈɡoːza]) is a settlement in the Municipality of Hoče-Slivnica in northeastern Slovenia. It lies on the flatlands on the right bank of the Drava River between Spodnje Hoče and Miklavž na Dravskem Polju. The area is part of the traditional region of Styria. The municipality is now included in the Drava Statistical Region.After the Second World War, a Yugoslav labor camp for political prisoners operated in Rogoza.In 1998 and 1999, during the preparations for the construction of the Maribor eastern bypass section of the A1 Motorway that runs just west of the settlement, Bronze Age and Iron Age sites were identified near the settlement.

The municipality is now included in the Drava Statistical Region.The village chapel-shrine, built at the crossroads at the centre of the settlement, dates to the second half of the 19th century.

Dobrovce (pronounced [ˈdoːbɾɔu̯tsɛ]) is a village in the Municipality of Miklavž na Dravskem Polju in northeastern Slovenia. It lies on the right bank of the Drava River southeast of Maribor. The area is part of the traditional region of Styria. The municipality is now included in the Drava Statistical Region.The local church is dedicated to the Assumption of Mary and belongs to the Parish of Slivnica pri Mariboru. It was built in 1934.

Maribor Edvard Rusjan Airport (Slovene: Letališče Edvarda Rusjana Maribor) (IATA: MBX, ICAO: LJMB) is an international airport in Maribor, Slovenia. The second biggest and second most important Slovenian airport, it is the only other airport besides the airport in Ljubljana suitable for international commercial aviation, equipped with ILS. At this location, the airport Skoke has been for sports purposes since 1953, and in 1976 it was complemented for international traffic. It is located in Hoče–Slivnica which is about 5 km (3.1 mi) south from Maribor. In 2008 it was renamed after the Slovene pioneer aviator Edvard Rusjan. The oldest Slovene aeroclub: Letalski center Maribor establish in 1927 also operates as one of the founders at the airport. In recent years this airport has become a popular place for training for many European airlines.

The municipality is now included in the Drava Statistical Region.An 8th- to 9th-century Slavic burial ground with signs of pre-Christian burial rituals has been identified near the settlement.
