Teltow (region)

Großbeeren is a municipality in the district of Teltow-Fläming in the German state of Brandenburg.

Teltow station is located in the town of Teltow on the Anhalt Railway south of Berlin and was opened in 1901. Since then, the station has been repeatedly remodelled. The station served regional passenger and freight traffic and was the terminus of a Berlin S-Bahn service from 1950 to 1961. The direct connection to Berlin was lost with the construction of the Berlin Wall in 1961. It was restored in 2006. Teltow Station should not be confused with Teltow Stadt (town) station, which opened in 2005 and is near the centre of the town at the end of a branch line of the S-Bahn and about 2 kilometres to the north-west of Teltow station.

Berlin-Lichterfelde Süd station is a Berlin S-Bahn station on the Anhalt Suburban Line in Lichterfelde in the Berlin borough of Steglitz-Zehlendorf. The station was the southern terminus for S-Bahn trains on the Anhalt Suburban Line between 1943 and 1951, between 1961 and 1984 and between 1998 and 2005. From 1951 until the building of the Berlin Wall, services continued past the city limits to nearby Teltow. The station was closed between 1984 and 1998. Since 2005, the trains have run to Teltow Stadt. Together with Osdorfer Straße station, this connects the Thermometersiedlung high-rise housing estate to the Berlin S-Bahn network.

Großbeeren station is a station in the town of Großbeeren on the Anhalt Railway south of Berlin. The station, which was inaugurated in 1841, is one of the oldest railway stations in the state of Brandenburg. The now disused station building is a listed building.

Berlin Osdorfer Straße station is a Berlin S-Bahn station on the Anhalt Suburban Line in Lichterfelde in the Berlin borough of Steglitz-Zehlendorf, which is served by S-Bahn line S25 and S-Bahn line S26. It was put into operation in 1998 and is thus one of the newest Berlin S-Bahn stations.

The Stiftung Mater Dolorosa Berlin-Lankwitz (Mater Dolorosa Berlin-Lankwitz Foundation) is an independent nonprofit foundation under the civil law of Germany and Berlin based in Lankwitz in the borough Steglitz-Zehlendorf of Berlin. The foundation was founded by the parish Mater Dolorosa (Berlin-Lankwitz) in 2006, and it was the first independent foundation of a parish within the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Berlin. The foundation took into consideration the strong cut of financial grants by the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Berlin which came along with the decline of church taxes and the consequential financial crisis of the archdiocese in 2003.

Mater Dolorosa is a Roman Catholic parish and church in Berlin-Lankwitz in Germany. Mater Dolorosa belongs to the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Berlin. It is named after Our Lady of Sorrows (Latin: mater dolorosa).

Marienfelde (German pronunciation: [maˈʁiːənˌfɛldə] (listen)) is a locality in southwest Berlin, Germany, part of the Tempelhof-Schöneberg borough. The former village, incorporated according to the Greater Berlin Act of 1920, today is a mixed industrial and residential area.

The Gross Lichterfelde Tramway was one of the world's first electric tramways (Miller's line was electrified in 1875). It was built by the Siemens & Halske company in Lichterfelde, a suburb of Berlin, and went in service on 16 May 1881.

Marienfelde refugee transit camp (German: Notaufnahmelager Marienfelde) was one of three camps operated by West Germany and West Berlin during the cold war for dealing with the great waves of immigration from East Germany, especially between 1950 and 1961. Refugees arriving in West Berlin were sent to the reception centre located in the Marienfelde district, where they received medical treatment, food, identification papers, and housing until they could be permanently re-settled in the West.
