Brandywine Village

Brandywine Village Historic District is a national historic district located along Brandywine Creek at Wilmington, New Castle County, Delaware. It encompasses 12 contributing buildings, 7 contributing sites, and 2 contributing structures. Brandywine Village developed in the late-18th century as a group of flour mills, the homes of prosperous millers, mill workers, shop keepers and artisans. Located in the district are a set of mill owner built homes of granite. Notable buildings include the Gothic Revival style St. John's Episcopal Church (1857-1858) designed by noted Philadelphia architect John Notman, Brandywine Methodist Episcopal Church (1857), and Brandywine Academy (1798). In 1788, Brandywine Village was the site of the first mechanized mill designed by Oliver Evans.It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1971 and expanded in 1976.

The Episcopal Church in Delaware, formerly known as the Episcopal Diocese of Delaware, is one of 108 dioceses making up the Episcopal Church in the United States of America. It consists of 33 congregations or parishes in an area the same as the State of Delaware. The diocese is led by a bishop and staff and provides episcopal supervision and some administrative assistance for its parishes. The current bishop, the eleventh Bishop of Delaware, is Kevin Scott Brown, who was consecrated bishop December 9, 2017, and succeeded Wayne P. Wright upon the latter's retirement. The diocesan offices were located for many years at the campus of the Cathedral Church of Saint John, in Wilmington, Delaware. When the cathedral closed in 2012, the offices moved, in 2014, to 913 Wilson Road, Wilmington, DE the site of the former Saint Alban's Church.

East Brandywine Historic District is a national historic district located at Wilmington, New Castle County, Delaware. It encompasses 189 contributing buildings located east of the central business district of Wilmington dating from the late-18th to the early-20th century. The buildings reflect a mix of architectural types and styles include industrial buildings, churches, schools, semi-detached houses, rowhouses, apartment houses, restaurants, and stores. Notable non-residential buildings include St. Patrick's Church, Diamond Match Company complex, Security Storage Warehouse, Francis Apartments, Winkler's Restaurant, Delaware Hosiery Manufacturing Company building, F.F. Slocomb Company building. The Howard High School, Kaumagraph Building, and Starr House are located in the district and separately listed.It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1985.

New Castle Leather Raw Stock Warehouse, also known as the Kaumagraph Building, is a historic warehouse building located at Wilmington, New Castle County, Delaware. It was built in 1917, and is a three-story, rectangular steel, concrete, and brick building measuring 100 feet by 200 feet and featuring a projecting roof cornice, flat roof, and large window areas. It is characterized as a fireproof industrial building in the commercial style of the early 1900s. It was originally built as a warehouse to store goatskins for a Wilmington kid leather manufacturer and later housed the plant and offices of a specialty printing firm.It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1983. It is located in the East Brandywine Historic District.

Starr House, also known as the Michael VanKirk House, is a historic home located at Wilmington, New Castle County, Delaware. It was built between 1801 and 1806, and is 2+1⁄2-story, brick dwelling with a gable roof. The house was restored in 1946 and considered the last example of colonial architecture in the city of Wilmington. Adjacent to the house is a mid-19th century frame summer kitchen, which contains a beehive oven, has been encased in brick.It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1970. It is located in the East Brandywine Historic District. Situated on a two-block section of King Street known historically as Wilmington's "Lawyers Row," Starr House is one of a complex of six buildings that serve as the offices of Prickett, Jones & Elliott, P.A., one of Delaware's oldest law firms.

Howard High School of Technology is a vocational-technical high school in Wilmington, Delaware and is the oldest of four high schools within the New Castle County Vocational-Technical School District, which includes Delcastle Technical High School in Newport, Hodgson Vo-Tech High School in Glasgow, and St. Georges Technical High School in St. Georges.In 2022 it was designated an affiliated area of Brown v. Board of Education National Historical Park.

On April 21, 2016, Amy Inita Joyner-Francis, a female 16-year-old student at Howard High School of Technology in Wilmington, Delaware, was assaulted and killed by another student, Trinity Carr in a school bathroom while two other students allegedly assisted. The incident was widely publicized and started controversy about the appropriate charges of teenagers involved in situations of school violence and assault. Two of the students were convicted of conspiracy and one of the two was also convicted of negligent homicide. The latter conviction was later overturned in a ruling that has faced some criticism. A third student was acquitted of a conspiracy charge.

The African-American Medal of Honor Recipients Memorial is a monument dedicated to African-American recipients of the Medal of Honor since 1861.

Old First Presbyterian Church of Wilmington is a historic Presbyterian church located on West Street on Brandywine Park Drive in Wilmington, New Castle County, Delaware. Built in 1740, the one-story brick structure measures 30 feet by 40 feet and has a gambrel roof. Originally located on the east side of Wilmington's Market Street between 9th and 10th Streets, the building was used during the American Revolution by British troops as a prison and hospital during the occupation of Wilmington after the Battle of Brandywine, September 12, 1777. It remained a house of worship until 1840. A cemetery on the site was the final resting place of many noted Wilmingtonians which were reinterred to Wilmington and Brandywine Cemetery.It was moved to its present site in 1916. In order to move it, it was dismantled and rebuilt with its re-dedication in 1918. It was given to the National Society of the Colonial Dames of America in the State of Delaware to maintain and restore. They currently use it as their headquarters and have it open to the public on 2nd Sundays, April–October, 2-4pm. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1972. The National Society of the Colonial Dames of America restored the interior to its original condition in 1981.

The Baynard Boulevard Historic District is a national historic district located at Wilmington, New Castle County, Delaware. It encompasses 77 contributing buildings with examples of Colonial Revival, Tudor Revival, and Queen Anne architecture. The area developed after being laid out in 1893, and is a prime example of a turn-of-the-20th-century American suburb, or "streetcar suburb." The dwellings date between 1895 and 1930. The district is predominantly residential. Also located in the district is the McCabe United Methodist Church, Beth Shalom Synagogue, Hanover Presbyterian Church, and No. 30 School.It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1979.

1201 North Market Street is a 110 m (360 ft), 23-story high rise building in Wilmington, Delaware. It is the tallest building in Wilmington and the state of Delaware. The tower was designed by the architectural firm of Skidmore, Owings & Merrill and opened in 1988. On clear days, the skyline of Philadelphia, 30 miles to the northeast, can be seen from the top floors.

The one story building is located at 1209 North Orange Street in Wilmington, Delaware. Many companies are incorporated in Delaware for its business-friendly General Corporation Law. It was estimated in 2012 that $9.5 billion of potential taxes had not been levied over the past decade, due to an arrangement known as the "Delaware loophole." Companies formed in Delaware are required to have an address in the state at which process may be served. Therefore, Delaware entities with no physical office in the state must have a registered agent with a Delaware address. Notable companies represented by CT at this location include Google, American Airlines, Apple Inc., General Motors, The Coca-Cola Company, Walmart, Yum! Brands, Verizon, Take-Two Interactive, and about 430 of Deutsche Bank's more than 2,000 subsidiary companies and special purpose companies. Both former President of the United States Donald Trump, and his main opponent in the 2016 United States presidential election, Hillary Clinton, have registered companies at the center.
