Santa Maria, Amer

Amer is a municipality in the comarca of la Selva in the province of Girona, Catalonia, Spain. From 1895, Amer was linked to Girona by the narrow gauge Olot–Girona railway, which was extended to Les Planes d'Hostoles in 1900, Sant Feliu de Pallerols in 1902 and Olot in 1911. The line closed in 1969 and has since been converted into a greenway.

Pasteral Reservoir (Catalan: Pantà del Pasteral) is a reservoir located on the Ter river, on the border between La Cellera de Ter and Amer, Catalonia, Spain. The reservoir has a storage capacity of 233 hm³. The dam on the other hand has a structural height of 33 m and a crest length of 150 m.

More than half of the area is mountainous and is part of the eastern ridge of the Guilleries massif. The municipality covers an area of 14.6 square kilometres (5.6 sq mi) and the population in 2014 was 2,071 and, in 2020, 1.950. The population density is 133,56 hab/km². The village is 166 m above sea level. The highest mountain in the village is Sant Gregori (1088m) but the most representative one is Puigdefrou (843m). Electronic music Sak Noel was born in the village in 1983.

Les Planes d'Hostoles is a village and municipality in the province of Girona and autonomous community of Catalonia, Spain. The municipality covers an area of 37.51 square kilometres (14.48 sq mi) and the population in 2014 was 1,694. From 1900, Les Planes d'Hostoles was linked to Girona by the narrow gauge Olot–Girona railway, which was extended to Sant Feliu de Pallerols in 1902 and Olot in 1911. The line closed in 1969 and has since been converted into a greenway. In this Área there are lots of waterfalls. To visit them you need to book a ticket on the protected Space of the river Brugent.

Susqueda Reservoir (Catalan: Pantà de Susqueda; Spanish: Embalse de Susqueda) is a reservoir located on the Ter river, near Osor, Catalonia, Spain. The dam is located in Osor while the main water body is within the boundaries of Susqueda and Sant Hilari Sacalm. The construction of the dam was completed in 1968, creating a reservoir with a storage capacity of 233 hm³ that covered the old villages of Susqueda and Querós. The dam has a structural height of 135 m and a crest length of 360 m.

Susqueda is a municipality in the comarca of the Selva in Catalonia, Spain. It is located in the Guilleries Massif area, on the left bank of the Ter river in the north-west of the comarca. A local road links the municipality with the C-152 road to Santa Coloma de Farners.

The Catalan Transversal Range (Serralada Transversal) is a system of minor mountain ranges at the eastern end of the Pre-Pyrenees, between the Osona and Garrotxa comarques. The existence of the Catalan Transversal Range has made communications in the northern areas of Catalonia difficult in the past, especially between Northeastern Catalonia (Catalan Coastal Depression, with cities like Girona, Figueres and La Jonquera) and Western Catalonia (Catalan Mediterranean System; Lleida, Cervera and further west to Aragón), a problem that has been partly solved with the development of the Eix Transversal.
