Flaxby is a village and civil parish in the Harrogate district of North Yorkshire, England. It is close to the A1(M) motorway and 2 miles (3.2 km) east of Knaresborough. Flaxby was once part of the wapentake of Claro. It is also part of the ecclesiastical parish of Goldsborough (St Mary).In 1994, an Early Iron Age farmstead of the 7th–6th centuries BC was discovered by archaeologists, but the site was abandoned until the late Roman period.Proposals have been put forward to develop the land to the east of Flaxby, north of the A59 road and west of the A1(M) motorway into a new town called Flaxby Park. The developers have announced their intention to build 2,500 - 3,000 homes on 440 acres (180 ha) of land that would also see a primary school, a medical centre, leisure facilities and numerous shops and bars. The development would also include a bus park and ride system with the possibility of a new railway station on the York to Harrogate line. A railway station has already been proposed at Flaxby Moor (south of the A59) but in 2014, a feasibility study of new stations predicted a low demand of passenger numbers from a new station on the line.

St Bartholomew's Church is an Anglican church in Arkendale, a village in North Yorkshire, in England. A church in the village was first recorded in the 14th century. It was demolished in 1836 and rebuilt at a cost of £500, to a design by John Freeman. It was consecrated in January 1837, the first new church in the recently created Diocese of Ripon. The church is in the Early English style and is built of white brick. It has a square stone tower which projects at the west end and has battlements. The church originally seated 210 worshippers. The Victorian church clock was restored in 2023. Nikolaus Pevsner describes the church as "uncommonly unattractive". It is not a listed building.

It is 6 miles (10 km) north-east of Harrogate town, and a had a population of 278 according to the 2001 census, increasing to 394 at the 2011 census. It consists of a Pub, a Village Hall, a Church and is close to Staveley village. The first part of the toponym originates from Old English eorcnan, meaning probably "precious, noble, true", and cognate to the name Archibald.

Marton cum Grafton is a civil parish in the Borough of Harrogate of North Yorkshire, England. The parish has only two settlements (Marton and Grafton), and has a magnesian limestone and sandstone geography, which has been used for quarrying. The landform is broadly flat, though there are some small hills with the Marton and Grafton being separated by 98 feet (30 m) despite being only 0.5 miles (0.8 km) apart.

Goldsborough railway station served the village of Goldsborough, North Yorkshire, England from 1850 to 1965 on the Harrogate line. The station was over 13 miles (21 km) west of York railway station, and nearly 3 miles (4.8 km) east of Knaresborough. The site of the station has been bought by a development company, with a view to reopening as Flaxby Parkway.

Grafton is a village in the Harrogate district of North Yorkshire, England. It is situated approximately 15 miles (24 km) north-west of the city of York and 6 miles (9.7 km) north-east of the market town of Knaresborough. The village is joined with Marton and forms the civil parish of Marton cum Grafton. Grafton was first mentioned in the Domesday Book in 1086. The toponym is from the Old English grāf and tūn, meaning "farmstead in the wood".

Hopperton is a village in the county of North Yorkshire, England. It is part of the Allerton Mauleverer with Hopperton parish. The village is situated close to the A59, the A1(M) and the A168. Cattal railway station is situated just under two miles from the village with services to Leeds, York and Harrogate. Until 1958, Hopperton had its own railway station next to a level crossing on the original A1 Great North Road. The village had one pub, the Mason Arms, which closed in 2020 and is now a dwelling house . The nearest towns are Knaresborough 4 miles (6.4 km) to the west, and across the county border in West Yorkshire, Wetherby 5 miles (8 km) to the south west. The latter offers the closest large supermarket to Hopperton. From 1974 to 2023 it was part of the Borough of Harrogate, it is now administered by the unitary North Yorkshire Council.

Goldsborough is a village and civil parish in the Harrogate district of North Yorkshire, England. It is situated near the River Nidd and one mile (1.6 km) east of Knaresborough. Goldsborough is recognised by the well-known stately home Goldsborough Hall and its other features including: Goldsborough Primary School, the Bay Horse Inn and the Goldsborough Cricket Grounds. The village was historically part of the West Riding of Yorkshire until 1974.

Goldsborough Hall is a Jacobean stately home located in the village of Goldsborough, North Yorkshire, England. It is a member of the Historic Houses Association. The house itself is a Grade II* listed building. The Hall was built for Sir Richard Hutton (1560–1639) after he acquired the Goldsborough Estate in 1598, and in the 20th century it was home to Princess Mary, Countess of Harewood as her first family home. The original building still stands and is occupied as a private family home. The Hall and gardens are open throughout the year to visitors wishing to explore the grounds, take afternoon tea, experience AA 3 rosettes fine dining or stay the night, as well as exclusive hire for weddings and functions.
