The Gothic church of Šamorín (Slovak: Stredoveký farský kostol Šamorína) is a church of the Reformed Christian Church in Šamorín in Dunajská Streda District in Slovakia.

Dunajská Lužná (Hungarian: Dénesdtorcsmisérd) is a municipality (village) in the Bratislava Region of western Slovakia in Senec District. Dunajská Lužná lies approximately 15 km from the capital city of Bratislava towards Dunajská Streda and Komárno. It was founded on 1 January 1974 consisting of three formerly separate villages – Nové Košariská (German: Mischdorf, Hungarian: Misérd), Jánošíková (German: Schildern, Hungarian: Dénesd) and Nová Lipnica (German: Tartschendorf, Hungarian: Torcs). Dunajská Lužná belongs to the vicinity of Bratislava. There is increasing building activity because of new inhabitants coming from Bratislava or other cities. Not far from the municipality towards Senec lie two lakes - Malá Voda and Piesková Jama. They are used for fishing and bathing and in summer months they are quite crowded. Near the township runs a dam, protecting the villages and townships all the way from Bratislava to Gabčíkovo from flooding of the Danube River. There is a large Roman Catholic community in Dunajská Lužná with the Church, devoted to "The Elevation of the Holy Cross". Besides Roman Catholics there are also Lutherans and other religions.

The Čunovo Water Sports Centre is an artificial whitewater slalom course in Slovakia, on an island in the Danube river, 14 km southeast of Bratislava, near the village of Čunovo. It is powered by flow diversion from the Čunovo dam. Since 1997, it has hosted a full schedule of local, regional, and international competitions, including multiple World Cup races, 2 European Championships and the 2011 World Championships.

The 2011 ICF Canoe Slalom World Championships took place from September 7–11, 2011 in Bratislava, Slovakia under the auspices of International Canoe Federation. It was the 34th edition. Bad weather conditions on September 7 and 8 forced the organizers to make changes to the schedule. The events were all held over the remaining three days of the Championships. The women's C1 team event debuted at these championships, but did not count as an official medal event due to insufficient number of participating federations.The event was also the only global qualification for the 2012 Summer Olympics in London.It was the first time Slovakia hosted the ICF Canoe Slalom World Championships. The races were held in the Čunovo Water Sports Centre on an offshoot of the river Danube near the borders with Austria and Hungary. Slovakia won the medal table with 3 golds, 2 silvers and 3 bronzes.
