Osaka Conference Center (大阪カンファレンスセンター, Ōsaka kanfarensu sentā), officially known as Osaka Conference Center & Hotel (大阪カンファレンスセンター＆ホテル, Ōsaka kanfarensu sentā ando hoteru), is a conference center with a hotel in Tennoji-ku, Osaka, Osaka, Japan. Although Convention Linkage, Inc., the operator appointed by the City of Osaka, has started re-branding since April 2014, the center is still known as International House, Osaka (大阪国際交流センター, Ōsaka kokusai kōryū sentā) or i-house (アイハウス, Ai hausu) for the building name it tenants.

The 1576 siege of Mitsuji (Japanese: 三津寺砦の戦い) was part of the eleven-year Ishiyama Hongan-ji War. The Ikkō-ikki, a group of warrior monks and peasants, controlled the fortress and stood as one of the primary obstacles to Oda Nobunaga's bid for power. In May 1576, Nobunaga personally took part in an attack on the fortress. He led a number of ashigaru (foot soldiers) in pushing back the Ikki garrison to their inner gates. Nobunaga suffered a bullet wound to his leg.He also lost one of his generals, Harada Naomasa.

Shitennō-ji (Japanese: 四天王寺, Temple of the Four Heavenly Kings) is a Buddhist temple in Ōsaka, Japan. It is also known as Arahaka-ji, Nanba-ji, or Mitsu-ji. The temple is sometimes regarded as the first Buddhist and oldest officially-administered temple in Japan, although the temple complex and buildings have been rebuilt over the centuries, with the last reconstruction taking place in 1963. Shortly after World War II, Shitennō-ji became independent of the parent Tendai sect, and formed the "Wa" sect (wa-shū, 和宗) of Buddhism.

Shitennoji Junior and Senior High School (四天王寺中学校・高等学校, Shitennōji Chūgakkō Kōtōgakkō) is a girls' private junior and senior high school in Tennoji-ku, Osaka. It is a part of the Shi-Tennoji Gakuen, a group of Buddhist educational institutions affiliated with Shitennoji temple in Osaka. It was established in April 1922 as Tennoji Women's High School (天王寺高等女学校, Tennōji Kōtōjogakkō).

St. Barnabas' Hospital (聖バルナバ病院, Sei Barunaba byōin) is a hospital founded in 1873. The hospital is located in Tennōji-ku, Osaka, Japan. It is the oldest hospital of the Anglican Church in Japan.

Ōsaka-Uehommachi Station (大阪上本町駅, Ōsaka-Uehonmachi-eki) is a railway station in Tennoji-ku, Osaka, Japan, served by the Kintetsu Railway's Osaka, Nara, and Namba Lines. Trains on the Nara Line arrive at and depart from an underground platform. The station is connected to Tanimachi Kyuchome Station on the Tanimachi Line (T25) and the Sennichimae Line (S18) of the Osaka Metro. It has been the Kintetsu Railway's terminus since the Nara Line was opened in 1914. The station is also known as Ueroku Station (上六駅, Ueroku-eki) since it is located in Uehommachi Rokuchōme (or Ueroku for short), which is currently used as the name of the connecting bus stops. The station was renamed from Uehommachi Station (上本町駅) on 20 March 2009, when it started being served by trains on the Hanshin Namba Line.

The Battle of Tennōji (天王寺・岡山の戦い, Tennōji Okayama no tatakai) was fought on 3 June, 1615 between the forces of Tokugawa Ieyasu and Toyotomi Hideyori. Tokugawa was besieging Osaka, and Hideyori had planned a counterattack. Both sides were plagued by mistakes until Hideyori's side finally fell. He presumably committed suicide. The Toyotomi army suffered nearly 50% casualties in this battle, with more than 15,000 dead. This was also the final battle of Sanada Yukimura.
