Battle of Tennōji

Isshin-ji (一心寺) is a Pure Land Buddhist temple in Osaka, Japan. Starting in the Meiji period, thirteen images have been formed, each incorporating the ashes of tens of thousands of devotees. The annual burial ceremony on 21 April in turn draws tens of thousands of worshippers.

Tennōji Zoo (天王寺動物園) is a 11-hectare (27-acre) zoo located at Tennōji Park in Tennōji-ku, Osaka, Japan, opened on January 1, 1915. It is the third zoo to be built in Japan and is located southwest of the Shitennō-ji temple, the first Buddhist temple in Japan.

Shitennoji Junior and Senior High School (四天王寺中学校・高等学校, Shitennōji Chūgakkō Kōtōgakkō) is a girls' private junior and senior high school in Tennoji-ku, Osaka. It is a part of the Shi-Tennoji Gakuen, a group of Buddhist educational institutions affiliated with Shitennoji temple in Osaka. It was established in April 1922 as Tennoji Women's High School (天王寺高等女学校, Tennōji Kōtōjogakkō).

Shitennoji-mae Yuhigaoka Station (四天王寺前夕陽ヶ丘駅, Shitennōji-mae Yūhigaoka-eki, T26) is a metro station on the Osaka Metro Tanimachi Line in Tennoji-ku, Osaka, Japan.

The 1576 siege of Mitsuji (Japanese: 三津寺砦の戦い) was part of the eleven-year Ishiyama Hongan-ji War. The Ikkō-ikki, a group of warrior monks and peasants, controlled the fortress and stood as one of the primary obstacles to Oda Nobunaga's bid for power. In May 1576, Nobunaga personally took part in an attack on the fortress. He led a number of ashigaru (foot soldiers) in pushing back the Ikki garrison to their inner gates. Nobunaga suffered a bullet wound to his leg.He also lost one of his generals, Harada Naomasa.

Shitennō-ji (Japanese: 四天王寺, Temple of the Four Heavenly Kings) is a Buddhist temple in Ōsaka, Japan. It is also known as Arahaka-ji, Nanba-ji, or Mitsu-ji. The temple is sometimes regarded as the first Buddhist and oldest officially-administered temple in Japan, although the temple complex and buildings have been rebuilt over the centuries, with the last reconstruction taking place in 1963. Shortly after World War II, Shitennō-ji became independent of the parent Tendai sect, and formed the "Wa" sect (wa-shū, 和宗) of Buddhism.

Shinsekai (新世界, lit. New World) is an old neighbourhood located next to south Osaka City's downtown "Minami" area. The neighbourhood was created in 1912 with New York (specifically, Coney Island) as a model for its southern half and Paris for its northern half. At this location, a Luna Park amusement park operated from 1912 until it closed in 1923. The centrepiece of the neighbourhood was Tsutenkaku Tower (the "tower reaching to heaven"). As a result of minimal redevelopment after World War II, the area has become one of Japan's poorest.

(通天閣観光株式会社, Tsūtenkaku Kankō Kabushiki-gaisha), is a tower and well-known landmark of Osaka, Japan and advertises Hitachi. It is located in the Shinsekai district of Naniwa-ku, Osaka. Its total height is 103 metres (338 ft); the main observation deck is at a height of 91 metres (299 ft).

Taihei-ji (太平寺) is a Buddhist temple in Osaka Prefecture, Japan. It was founded in about 1555, and it is affiliated with Sōtō Buddhism.

Osaka Yuhigaoka Gakuen Junior College (大阪夕陽丘学園短期大学, Ōsaka yūhigaoka gakuen tanki daigaku) is a private women's junior college in Tennōji-ku, Osaka, Japan, established in 1950.
