The Rocky Knob AVA is an American Viticultural Area in a mountainous area east of the Blue Ridge Parkway in southwest Virginia. The AVA includes portions of Floyd and Patrick counties. The area is located on the eastern slopes of the Blue Ridge Mountains near the towns of Woolwine and Meadows of Dan and astride the Blue Ridge Parkway. It was established in 1983 and encompasses 9,000 acres (36 km2). The soil is primarily loam and gravel and is well-drained. Rocky Knob AVA was named for the eponymously named mountainous recreational area located within the AVA.

Rocky Knob Recreation Area is a 4,500 acres (18 km2) recreation area along the Blue Ridge Parkway, which spans from mile markers 167–174. The park is home to 15 miles of hiking trails, 81 tents camping sites, 28 RV sites, and 72 picnic sites. The campground is open seasonally, typically from May–October. Rocky Knob is also home to Rock Castle Gorge, a 3,500 acres (14 km2) gorge, and home to the Rock Castle Gorge National Recreation Trail. The trail drops 1,000 feet in elevation in 3 miles, and backpackers can request a backcountry camping permit from the National Park Service.

Chateau Morrisette Winery is a winery located in Floyd, Virginia. It was founded by David Morrisette in 1980, making it among the oldest wineries in Virginia. Containing 13 acres (5.3 ha) of land, the winery production has increased to approximately 60,000 cases per year.

Slate Mountain Presbyterian Church and Cemetery is a historic Presbyterian church and cemetery in Patrick County, Virginia. It was built in 1932, and is one of six "rock churches" founded by Bob Childress and built between 1919 and the early 1950s. The building consists of a one-story, gable-fronted rectangular form with a roughly square, Gothic Revival bell tower centered on the building's front elevation. The building was erected on a concrete block foundation, and has walls of light wood framing covered with a thick quartz and quartzite fieldstone exterior veneer.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2007.

Union is an unincorporated community in Floyd County, Virginia, United States.

Chestnut Creek Wetlands Natural Area Preserve is a 244-acre (99 ha) Natural Area Preserve located in Floyd County, Virginia. Local wetlands support several rare species, while the upland slopes support northern hardwoods including beech, birch, and maple. The area has a long farming and grazing history, but the wetlands have survived, dominated by sedges and grasses with few trees and shrubs. The property was acquired using a voter-approved state government bond and a recovery grant from the United States Fish and Wildlife Service.The preserve is owned and maintained by the Virginia Department of Conservation and Recreation, and it hosts an agricultural lease as of 2016. It does not include improvements for public access, and visitors must make arrangements with a state-employed land steward prior to visiting.

Mabry Mill is a watermill located at milepost 176.2 of Blue Ridge Parkway in Floyd County, Virginia. Run by the National Park Service, it is a tourist attraction. A short trail around the mill connects historical exhibits about life in rural Virginia. The trail allows visitors to view the gristmill, sawmill, and blacksmith shop. Mabry Mill was built by Edwin Boston Mabry (E. B. Mabry). He returned to Floyd County in 1903 and began constructing the mill. It was first a blacksmith and wheelwright shop, then became a sawmill. By 1905, it was in operation as a gristmill. By 1910, the front part of the mill was completed and included a lathe for turning out wheel hubs, a tongue and groove lathe, a planer and a jig-saw. Between 1905 and 1914 Mabry bought adjacent tracts of land, mostly for the purpose of acquiring more water power. During peak seasons, demonstrations of crafts are given by National Park Service volunteers at Mabry Mill.

Glenanna is a historic home located at Floyd, Floyd County, Virginia. It was built in 1849, and is a large two-story, double pile, brick dwelling in the Greek Revival style. The front facade features a massive, two-story, single-tier portico sheltering a small balcony on the second floor. The portico, a small conservatory, and a kitchen wing were added in the early-20th century. Also on the property are a contributing kitchen / servant house; a well shelter / dairy; and a smokehouse.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2002. It is located in the Floyd Historic District.

Floyd is a town in Floyd County, Virginia, United States. The population was 448 at the 2020 census. It is the county seat of Floyd County. The Town of Floyd was originally named Jacksonville as the surrounding county was formed during the tenure of President Andrew Jackson. The name was subsequently changed to Floyd for Virginia governor John Floyd.
