Meadows of Dan is an unincorporated community and census-designated place in Patrick County, Virginia, where the Blue Ridge Parkway (milepost 178) crosses U.S. Route 58 (Jeb Stuart Highway). It was first listed as a CDP in the 2020 census with a population of 72.There are numerous country shops, classic houses, and restaurants in the community. It is located near the Patrick/Floyd county line about 20 miles east of Hillsville and about 14 miles northwest of Stuart, Virginia. The community's name is credited to one of its earliest English settlers, James Steptoe Langhorne, and comes from the meadows that abound near the Dan River which flows through the area. The community's motto as posted on the welcoming sign is "A simpler place in time". Meadows of Dan is located along the Crooked Road, Virginia and the Crooked Road, Virginia's heritage music trail and in the Rocky Knob American Viticultural Area. The community of Meadows of Dan hosts an annual Folk Fair, in cooperation with the Virginia Peach Festival. Meadows of Dan was also a setting for the ministry of Bob Childress, whose life was chronicled in the book The Man Who Moved a Mountain. The Cockram Mill and Mayberry Presbyterian Church are listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Meadows of Dan is located approximately one half hour north of Andy Griffith’s hometown of Mount Airy, North Carolina, the city which is widely believed to have inspired the fictitious Mayberry on the Andy Griffith Show. It has been speculated that the name “Mayberry” may have come from either Mayberry Road, The Mayberry Trading Post, or the Mayberry Presbyterian Church in Meadows of Dan.

Cockram Mill is a historic grist mill complex located near Meadows of Dan, Patrick County, Virginia. The mill dates to about 1885, and is a two- and three-story, rectangular frame building on a concrete foundation. It measures 111 feet by 24 feet and is located adjacent to a concrete dam on the headwaters of the Dan River. The mill is operated by two metal turbine wheels, 14 feet and 16 feet in diameter. Associated with the mill is the contributing miller's house built about 1921.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1990.

Slate Mountain Presbyterian Church and Cemetery is a historic Presbyterian church and cemetery in Patrick County, Virginia. It was built in 1932, and is one of six "rock churches" founded by Bob Childress and built between 1919 and the early 1950s. The building consists of a one-story, gable-fronted rectangular form with a roughly square, Gothic Revival bell tower centered on the building's front elevation. The building was erected on a concrete block foundation, and has walls of light wood framing covered with a thick quartz and quartzite fieldstone exterior veneer.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2007.

Chateau Morrisette Winery is a winery located in Floyd, Virginia. It was founded by David Morrisette in 1980, making it among the oldest wineries in Virginia. Containing 13 acres (5.3 ha) of land, the winery production has increased to approximately 60,000 cases per year.

Mayberry Presbyterian Church is a historic Presbyterian church at 1127 Mayberry Church Road in Meadows of Dan, Patrick County, Virginia. It is one of the "rock churches" founded by Bob Childress. It was built in 1925, and is a one-story frame church building faced in natural quartz and quartzite stone. It features Gothic styled lancet windows. The rock facing was added to the frame building in 1948.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2007.

The Rocky Knob AVA is an American Viticultural Area in a mountainous area east of the Blue Ridge Parkway in southwest Virginia. The AVA includes portions of Floyd and Patrick counties. The area is located on the eastern slopes of the Blue Ridge Mountains near the towns of Woolwine and Meadows of Dan and astride the Blue Ridge Parkway. It was established in 1983 and encompasses 9,000 acres (36 km2). The soil is primarily loam and gravel and is well-drained. Rocky Knob AVA was named for the eponymously named mountainous recreational area located within the AVA.

Rocky Knob Recreation Area is a 4,500 acres (18 km2) recreation area along the Blue Ridge Parkway, which spans from mile markers 167–174. The park is home to 15 miles of hiking trails, 81 tents camping sites, 28 RV sites, and 72 picnic sites. The campground is open seasonally, typically from May–October. Rocky Knob is also home to Rock Castle Gorge, a 3,500 acres (14 km2) gorge, and home to the Rock Castle Gorge National Recreation Trail. The trail drops 1,000 feet in elevation in 3 miles, and backpackers can request a backcountry camping permit from the National Park Service.

Buffalo Mountain Natural Area Preserve is a 1,140-acre (4.6 km2) Natural Area Preserve in Floyd County, Virginia.

West Fork Furnace is a historic iron furnace and national historic district located near Floyd, Floyd County, Virginia. The district includes structural, landscape and archaeological components of a small and well preserved mid-19th-century iron furnace built about 1853. The components consist of the furnace, retaining wall, staging area, head race, wheel pit, tail race, and East Prong of Furnace Creek. The furnace remained in operation until 1855.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2009.
