The Théâtre des Nouveautés ("Theatre of the New") is a Parisian theatre built in 1921 and located at 24 boulevard Poissonnière (Paris, 9th arr.). The name was also used by several earlier Parisian theatre companies and their buildings, beginning in 1827.

Grands Boulevards (French pronunciation: ​[ɡʁɑ̃ bulvaʁ]), formerly named Rue Montmartre (1931–1998), is a station on Line 8 and Line 9 of the Paris Métro. In 2019, it was the 44th busiest station of the Métro network, with 6,807,424 yearly users.The section of both lines from just east of Richelieu–Drouot to west of République was built under the Grand Boulevards, partly on the border between the 2nd and 9th arrondissements, that replaced the Louis XIII wall and is in soft ground, which was once the course of the Seine. The lines are built on two levels, with Line 8 on the higher level and Line 9 in the lower level. The platforms are at the sides and the box containing the lines and supporting the road above is strengthened by a central wall between the tracks. There is no interconnection between the lines at Grands Boulevards, with each level having different accesses to the street.

On 12 January 2019, an explosion occurred 6 Rue de Trevise in 9th arrondissement of Paris, France. Two firefighters, a Spanish tourist, and another woman were killed, and forty-seven others were injured. According to local prosecutor Remy Heitz, the apparent cause of the explosion was a gas leak. Firefighters were present at the time of the blast while investigating a suspected gas leak.

Le Palace is a Paris theatre located at 8, rue du Faubourg-Montmartre in the 9th arrondissement. It is best known for its years as a nightclub. Created by impresario Fabrice Emaer in 1978, intellectuals, actors, designers, and American and European jetsetters patronised the club for its flamboyant DJ Guy Cuevas, extravagant theme parties and performances, and Emaer's rule-breaking mix of clubgoers that threw together rich and poor, gay and straight, black and white.After Emaer's death in 1985, Le Palace changed hands and names several times before reopening in 2008 as a theater and concert space of the same name.

The Conservatoire national supérieur d'art dramatique (CNSAD; English: National Academy of Dramatic Arts) is France's national drama academy in Paris and a constituent college of University PSL. It is a higher education institution run by the French Ministry of Culture and, with an acceptance rate of two to three percent and an average graduating class of thirty students. Its alumni include: Jeanne Moreau, Isabelle Huppert, Carole Bouquet, Sebastian Roché, Jean-Paul Belmondo, Louis Garrel, Celine Sallette and Olivier Martinez.

Bouillon Chartier, or simply Chartier, is a "bouillon" restaurant in Paris founded in 1896, located in the 9th arrondissement and classified as a monument historique since 1989.

The murder of Jean Jaurès, French deputy for Tarn and Socialist politician, took place on Friday, July 31, 1914, at 9:40 pm, as he dined at the Café du Croissant on rue Montmartre in Paris's 2nd arrondissement, in the heart of the Republic of the Croissant, not far from the headquarters of his newspaper, L'Humanité. He was hit by two gunshots: one bullet pierced his skull and the other nestled in woodwork. The famous politician collapsed, mortally wounded. Committed three days before France's entry into World War I, this murder put an end to the desperate efforts Jaurès had made since the Sarajevo bombing to prevent a military explosion in Europe. It precipitated the rallying of the majority of the French left to the Sacred Union, including many socialists and trade unionists who had previously refused to support the war. The Sacred Union ceased to exist in 1919 when his assassin, Raoul Villain, was acquitted. The transfer of Jaurès's ashes to the Panthéon in 1924 underlined another political split within the Left, between communists and socialists.

The Théâtre Grévin is a Parisian theatre situated at 10 boulevard Montmartre in the 9th arrondissement of Paris and located within the Musée Grévin. It also overlooks the Passage Jouffroy.This site can be reached by the Grands Boulevards métro station.

The Café du Croissant or Crosse du Croisant (today the Taverne du Croissant) is a café in the 2nd arrondissement of Paris, France. It is famous for having been the place of the assassination of Jean Jaurès by Raoul Villain on July 31, 1914. On February 20, 1938, the owner Albert Wiedmer donated the marble plaque of the table on which Jaurès was assassinated to the municipality of Champigny-sur-Marne at the request of the city's mayor Albert Thomas, a friend of Jaurès. It was classified as a Historic Monument object in 1988. Yet the waiters still have the patrons believe the café has kept the original table with a dark stain on a brighter wood that is said to be Jaurès's blood.The assassination is still remembered in the café: in 1923, a commemorative plaque was added to the façade by the Human Rights League; a red and golden floor mosaic shows the date of Jaurès's death and the exact place where he fell. Additionally, a window shelters a part of Jaurès's chair, his hat with a bullet inside, and the two front pages of the newspaper L'Humanité of July 31 and August 1, 1914.On July 31, 1984, President François Mitterrand visited the Café du Croissant to commemorate the 70th anniversary of the assassination. In a radio show, he told that in 1934 he had rushed to the café to pay tribute to Jaurès.The establishment was re-opened in 2011 as the Taverne du Croissant. On July 31, 2014, President François Hollande and Germany's Vice-Chancellor Sigmar Gabriel visited the café upon the centenary of the assassination of Jaurès. The restaurant offered a special dinner menu for the centenary.

The Musée Grévin (French: [myze ɡʁevɛ̃]; Euronext: GREV) is a wax museum in Paris located on the Grands Boulevards in the 9th arrondissement on the right bank of the Seine, at 10, Boulevard Montmartre, Paris, France. It is open daily; an admission fee is charged. The musée Grévin also has locations in Montreal and Seoul.

The Folies Bergère (French pronunciation: ​[fɔ.li bɛʁ.ʒɛʁ]) is a cabaret music hall, located in Paris, France. Located at 32 Rue Richer in the 9th Arrondissement, the Folies Bergère was built as an opera house by the architect Plumeret. It opened on 2 May 1869 as the Folies Trévise, with light entertainment including operettas, comic opera, popular songs, and gymnastics. It became the Folies Bergère on 13 September 1872, named after nearby Rue Bergère. The house was at the height of its fame and popularity from the 1890s' Belle Époque through the 1920s. Revues featured extravagant costumes, sets and effects, and often nude women. In 1926, Josephine Baker, an African-American expatriate singer, dancer and entertainer, caused a sensation at the Folies Bergère by dancing in a costume consisting of a skirt made of a string of artificial bananas and little else. The institution is still in business, and is still a strong symbol of French and Parisian life.

The Théâtre des Variétés is a theatre and "salle de spectacles" at 7–8, boulevard Montmartre, 2nd arrondissement, in Paris. It was declared a monument historique in 1974.
