Dayton Outpatient Center Stadium (DOC Stadium) is a 3,500 seat artificial turf stadium located in West Carrollton, Ohio, on the campus of West Carrollton High School. The Dayton Dutch Lions partnered with West Carrollton City Schools and Dr. Suresh Gupta of the Dayton Outpatient Center to install a new playing surface in the West Carrollton High School Stadium as part of a 30-year deal. The original stadium was renamed to the Dayton Outpatient Center Stadium in recognition of the significant investment made by Dayton Outpatient Center. Renovations started on March 10, 2014, and were completed with a ribbon-cutting ceremony on May 9, 2014. The Motz Group, a Cincinnati-based company that specializes in building playing fields, replaced the existing grass field with artificial turf at a cost of $450,000 to $475,000. The combined costs for the renovations to the stadium and installation of lights on practice fields are estimated at $529,000.DOC Stadium was officially opened on May 10, 2014, with a United Soccer League soccer game that saw the Dayton Dutch Lions tie the LA Galaxy II, 1–1 with a record attendance of 1,527.

West Carrollton High School is a public high school in West Carrollton, Ohio, United States. It is the only high school in the West Carrollton City School District. Athletic teams are known as the "Pirates" and the school colors are scarlet and black. As of the 2013–14 school year, the school has an enrollment of approximately 900 students.West Carrollton has been rated as "Effective" since 2002 by the Ohio Department of Education. The school met nine of the 12 state indicators for the 2005–2006 school year.

Alexandersville, Ohio was a town located in Montgomery County, Ohio, United States just north of West Carrollton and south of Moraine. It was incorporated into West Carrollton in 1943.Alexandersville was platted in 1815. A post office called Alexandersville was established in 1828, and remained in operation until 1907.

Kettering Health Washington Township, formerly known as Southview Medical Center, is an acute care hospital in Washington Township, Montgomery County, Ohio, United States, at the junction of State Route 725 and Interstate 675. It is part of the Kettering Health network. It features a maternity center, intensive care unit, catheter laboratory, endoscopy/colonoscopy center and the Hand Center of Southwest Ohio, a specialized center for the treatment of hand injuries. Holes Creek is a stream in the U.S. state of Ohio. The 9-mile (14 km) long stream is a tributary of the Great Miami River. The stream originates in extreme north-central Warren County in Clearcreek Township, roughly 1.5 miles east of Dayton–Wright Brothers Airport. It soon thereafter enters south-eastern Montgomery County for the duration of its run. The stream passes through portions of Washington and Miami Townships before joining the Great Miami River across from Moraine Airpark. The stream is a major nature and recreation feature for Washington Township, comprising several parks, green spaces and the Grant Nature Center.Holes Creek has the name of the local Hole family who settled there.

Moraine Airpark (FAA LID: I73) is a public-use airport situated in the city of Moraine, Ohio, United States. 4 miles (6.4 km) southwest of the city of Dayton in Montgomery County. The Airpark originally was called South Dayton Airport which was originally located on Stroop Rd and Lamme Rd in from 1941-1954. It's moved to its current location in 1955 and has been open to the public for the last 68 years (2023). They have everything from a Fairchild to a Christian Eagle based here.Careflight has a hanger for maintenance based there as well. It is also home to a chapter of the Experimental Aircraft Association, which it self holds Young Eagles Days where young pilots are taken for free airplane rides.The airport holds an annual fly-in. It also holds a hangar party as part of festivities for each year's inductions to the nearby National Aviation Hall of Fame.

Raymond Floyd, age 26, won the first of his four major titles, one stroke ahead of runner-up Gary Player.Floyd held a five-shot lead after the third round, at 202 (−11), and carded a 74 (+3) on Sunday.During the tournament's third round, demonstrators tried to disrupt the play of Player and Jack Nicklaus. Ice was thrown in Player's face and one spectator yelled while Nicklaus prepared to putt. Security was stepped up for the final round on Sunday.This was the first PGA Championship after the formation of the "Tournament Players Division" in December 1968, later renamed the PGA Tour. It also marked the permanent move of the PGA Championship to August, excluding 1971, which was played in Florida in February. Except for 1965, it had been played in July in the 1960s; five times during the decade it was held the week immediately after The Open Championship in Britain, including 1968. The new scheduling allowed more players to participate in both majors, cementing the concept of the modern grand slam. The attendance on Sunday was 23,543 and a new record was set for the four days at 80,847; including practice days, the week's attendance was 106,043.
