Dayton Mall is a shopping mall in Miami Township, Montgomery County, Ohio, United States, a suburb of Dayton. The mall's anchor stores are Dick's Sporting Goods, DSW, Guitar Center, H&M, JCPenney, Kirkland's, LensCrafters, Macy's, Morris Home Furniture, Ross Dress for Less, and Ulta Beauty. There are 2 vacant anchor stores that were once Elder-Beerman and Sears. Located ten miles (16 km) south of downtown Dayton, just north of the junction of Interstate 75 and Interstate 675 between the suburbs of Centerville and Miamisburg, the mall has attracted millions of visitors since its grand opening in 1970. The mall was formerly owned by Washington Prime Group, a Columbus-based firm, which acquired the complex in 1997; it is managed and leased by Spinoso Real Estate Group.

The Cox Arboretum and Gardens MetroPark is a 189 acres (76 ha) arboretum and park located at 6733 Springboro Pike, Dayton, Ohio (in Miami Township, south of the city proper). It is open daily without charge. Cox Arboretum and Gardens MetroPark is one of many Dayton area parks within the Five Rivers Metroparks system. The arboretum was established in 1962 when James M. Cox Jr., and family donated their property to a nonprofit foundation, which continues to help fund the arboretum. In 1972 the land was given to Five Rivers Metroparks in a public/private partnership. The arboretum contains a shrub garden with over 500 varieties of trees and shrubs, butterfly house and garden, children's maze, conifer knoll, crab apple allee, herb garden, ornamental grass collection, perennial garden, rock garden, water garden, woodland wildflower garden, and 2.5 miles (4.0 km) of walking trails.

Dayton Christian integrates Biblical instruction into its curriculum. Dayton Christian's mission is "Educating for Eternity." The school's founder, Rev. Claude (Bud) E. Schindler, Jr., was formerly an NCR sales executive. As of 2017, Dr. John Gredy is the school system's Head of School. In 2004 the school moved from the historic Julienne school building on Homewood Avenue near downtown Dayton to the former NCR World Training Center near Miamisburg.

Woodbourne-Hyde Park is located south of the city of Dayton and is a suburb of Dayton.

The 1969 PGA Championship was the 51st PGA Championship, played August 14–17 on the South Course of NCR Country Club in Kettering, Ohio, a suburb south of Dayton. Raymond Floyd, age 26, won the first of his four major titles, one stroke ahead of runner-up Gary Player.Floyd held a five-shot lead after the third round, at 202 (−11), and carded a 74 (+3) on Sunday.During the tournament's third round, demonstrators tried to disrupt the play of Player and Jack Nicklaus. Ice was thrown in Player's face and one spectator yelled while Nicklaus prepared to putt. Security was stepped up for the final round on Sunday.This was the first PGA Championship after the formation of the "Tournament Players Division" in December 1968, later renamed the PGA Tour. It also marked the permanent move of the PGA Championship to August, excluding 1971, which was played in Florida in February. Except for 1965, it had been played in July in the 1960s; five times during the decade it was held the week immediately after The Open Championship in Britain, including 1968. The new scheduling allowed more players to participate in both majors, cementing the concept of the modern grand slam. The attendance on Sunday was 23,543 and a new record was set for the four days at 80,847; including practice days, the week's attendance was 106,043.

The Miami Valley School is a non-profit organization and is accredited by the Independent Schools Association of the Central States. Dayton Outpatient Center Stadium (DOC Stadium) is a 3,500 seat artificial turf stadium located in West Carrollton, Ohio, on the campus of West Carrollton High School. The Dayton Dutch Lions partnered with West Carrollton City Schools and Dr. Suresh Gupta of the Dayton Outpatient Center to install a new playing surface in the West Carrollton High School Stadium as part of a 30-year deal. The original stadium was renamed to the Dayton Outpatient Center Stadium in recognition of the significant investment made by Dayton Outpatient Center. Renovations started on March 10, 2014, and were completed with a ribbon-cutting ceremony on May 9, 2014. The Motz Group, a Cincinnati-based company that specializes in building playing fields, replaced the existing grass field with artificial turf at a cost of $450,000 to $475,000. The combined costs for the renovations to the stadium and installation of lights on practice fields are estimated at $529,000.DOC Stadium was officially opened on May 10, 2014, with a United Soccer League soccer game that saw the Dayton Dutch Lions tie the LA Galaxy II, 1–1 with a record attendance of 1,527.
