Scunthorpe () is an industrial town in the North Lincolnshire district, in the ceremonial county of Lincolnshire, England. It is Lincolnshire's third most populous settlement, after Lincoln and Grimsby, with a population of 81,286 in 2021. Scunthorpe is the United Kingdom's largest steel processing centre.

Scunthorpe railway station serves the town of Scunthorpe in North Lincolnshire, England. The station is located a short walk from the town centre, on Station Road. As one approaches the station by road, there is a pay and display car park with around 50 spaces, including 2 disabled spaces. From the car park, it is a short walk to the Ticket Office. Close to the entrance, there is a public telephone box.The station has two platforms. Platform 1 serves mainly eastbound trains toward Grimsby/Cleethorpes, although some Northern Trains "local stopper" services toward Doncaster do use this platform through the day. All westbound TransPennine Express (TPE) services, and most Northern services use Platform 2. This platform is accessible via a footbridge over the tracks and is not accessible for wheelchairs or mobility-impaired passengers. Lifts however, became available at this station in spring 2019.The station has limited seating on both platforms and three waiting rooms. There are toilets available on Platform 1, although their use was at one time accessible only by requesting a key from the ticket office; they are now open at all times. When access was restricted, the toilets were kept very clean, earning them the title of "Loo of the Year" in 2005, under the "Railway Stations" category.This is not the original Scunthorpe station. The original station was known as Frodingham and located over half a mile to the east near the Brigg Road bridge (then a level crossing). It opened in 1864, it was replaced by a second station just 200 yd west from the first in 1887. This one was closed when the present station was opened on 11 March 1928. For over 40 years, the original station was known as "Scunthorpe & Frodingham". From 1906, the town had another station serving the North Lindsey Light Railway, a line which ran from Dawes Lane, about half a mile to the east, to (originally) West Halton.

Scunthorpe Civic Centre, also known as Pittwood House, is a municipal building in Ashby Road in Scunthorpe, a town in Lincolnshire in England. The building served as the headquarters of Scunthorpe Municipal Borough Council and later of North Lincolnshire Council, but is now used as a university campus. It is a Grade II listed building.

The Pods is a leisure centre in Scunthorpe, North Lincolnshire, England. The leisure centre offers a wide range of modern facilities, including two swimming pools, a gym, a café and a Sports Hall. The leisure centre is located in the town's Central Park near Ashby Road.The Pods is reported to be built the highest environmental standards and is aiming for a ‘excellent' BREAAM environmental rating. It has grey water recycling, a bio-mass boiler, and the roof is partly covered with the sedum plants. Hexagonal panels and panes of glass have been used to create the building's dome shaped roofs, which is of a similar style to Cornwall's Eden Project. North Lincolnshire have provided a large pond and car park built next to the leisure centre. The park and children's play areas around The Pods have also been refurbished in a two million pound restoration, completed in January 2011. Around it there is a park and tennis courts.

The Plowright Theatre, is a live entertainment venue on Laneham Street in Scunthorpe, North Lincolnshire. It is owned and run by North Lincolnshire Council. It is the Sister Venue to the Baths Hall located on Doncaster Road in Scunthorpe. The Plowright Theatre was commissioned by the former Scunthorpe Borough Council and built by J. W. Taylor in 1958. It is a traditional proscenium style theatre with a 354 seat auditorium. Originally known as Scunthorpe Civic Theatre it was renamed in the 1990s in recognition of the achievements of local actress Joan Plowright. Plowright was born in Brigg, educated in Scunthorpe, and is currently the President of Scunthorpe Little Theatre Club. The club was founded by her father, Bill Plowright, and staged the theatre's first performance, Peer Gynt, in 1958.

Frodingham railway station was a railway station in Frodingham, Lincolnshire, England. It was open by the Trent, Ancholme, and Grimsby Railway on 1 October 1866 and, like all the others built by that company, had staggered platforms set around the level crossing on the Brigg Road. The first station here was closed in autumn 1886, when a new Frodingham station, built by the Manchester, Sheffield and Lincolnshire Railway, was opened, to the west of the Brigg Road level crossing. This station was suffixed "and Scunthorpe" at some date and was closed in 1928, when the LNER opened a new station which it named Scunthorpe nearer to the town centre.

Engineering UTC Northern Lincolnshire is a mixed University Technical College in Scunthorpe, North Lincolnshire, England. It opened in September 2015 as Humber UTC and caters for students aged 13 to 19 (year 9 to year 13).The school's site is in Scunthorpe town centre. Industry partners include the University of Hull, Phillips 66, Tronox, ABP Humber, Orsted, RAF, Airco, STEM UK, North Lincolnshire Council and others.The school was rebranded from Humber UTC to Engineering UTC Northern Lincolnshire in early 2018.The school extended its provision to include a year 9 cohort in November 2018, after approval from the Department for Education (DfE).

Scunthorpe and Appleby Frodingham Works Cricket Club Ground is a cricket ground in Scunthorpe, Lincolnshire. The first recorded match on the ground was in 1925 when Lincolnshire first played at the ground in the Minor Counties Championship against the Nottinghamshire Second XI. From 1925, the ground hosted 49 Minor Counties Championship matches, the last of which came against Staffordshire. In addition, the ground has also hosted a single MCCA Knockout Trophy match, which came in 1987 when Lincolnshire played Durham.The ground also held a single List-A match in 1975, when Minor Counties North played Yorkshire in the Benson and Hedges Cup.In local domestic cricket, the ground is the home of Appleby Frodingham Cricket Club who play in the Yorkshire ECB County Premier League. The cricket club is part of a larger body called the Appleby-Frodingham Works Athletic Club, which is associated with Corus Group and was originally created by Appleby-Frodingham Steel Company.

Scunthorpe (Dawes Lane) railway station was a small railway station, the original southern terminus of the North Lindsey Light Railway situated adjacent to the level crossing on Dawes Lane and about 1⁄2 mile east of the present mainline station, opened in 1926, and about 1⁄8 mile east of Frodingham railway station, Scunthorpe's first station. The station was opened on 3 September 1906 with a service to Winterton and Thealby. Passenger services ended on 13 July 1925 but the section of line through the station is still open in connection with bulk waste trains from sites on Greater Manchester to a landfill at Roxby mines.
