The Rock 'n' Roll Nashville Marathon, previously known as the Country Music Marathon (2000–2015), is an annual marathon, half marathon, and 5K run that has been held in Nashville, Tennessee, since 2000. The marathon is followed by an evening country music concert. Nashville is a major center for the music industry, especially country music, and is commonly known as "Music City" The Rock 'n' Roll Marathon is a qualifying event for the Boston Marathon. It is owned by Advance Publications as part of the Rock 'n' Roll Marathon Series.

The Wildhorse Saloon is a country/western-themed restaurant, live music venue, and dance club located in downtown Nashville, Tennessee. It is managed by Marriott and owned by Ryman Hospitality Properties (formerly known as Gaylord Entertainment Company). Originally opened on June 1, 1994 in a converted warehouse, the Wildhorse initially capitalized on the line dancing craze of the early-to-mid-1990s. As it continues to enjoy success as a bar and dance venue, in recent years it has become a successful concert venue for all genres of music. Because of its downtown location, open bar, large atrium, and permanent stage, the Wildhorse is also often used as a formal banquet hall. The Wildhorse consists of three levels. The top two levels overlook the dance floor and stage. On April 13, 2023, it was announced that the Wildhorse Saloon would be replaced by a concert hall and honky-tonk inspired by Luke Combs's song "Hurricane" with building updates expected to begin as late as late 2023 or early 2024. Wildhorse Saloon intends to remain open during redevelopment.

The Nashville metropolitan area (officially the Nashville-Davidson–Murfreesboro–Franklin, TN Metropolitan Statistical Area) is a metropolitan statistical area in north-central Tennessee. Its principal city is Nashville, the capital of and largest city in Tennessee. With a population of over 2 million, it is the most populous metropolitan area in Tennessee. It is also the largest metropolitan area in Tennessee in terms of land area. The Office of Management and Budget defines the metro area for statistical use by the United States Census Bureau and other agencies. The area is the 35th largest metropolitan area in the United States. The metropolitan statistical area was first designated in 1950 and initially included only Davidson County. As surrounding counties increased in population and densities and in the number of their residents employed in Davidson County, the OMB added new counties to the MSA. Today, the metro area includes Davidson and 13 other counties.

Nashville is considered a global city type "Gamma" by the GaWC as of 2020. A major center for the music industry, especially country music, Nashville is commonly known as "Music City". It is home to three major professional sports teams, the Predators, Titans, and Nashville SC. The city is also the home of many colleges and universities including Tennessee State University, Vanderbilt University, Belmont University, Fisk University, Trevecca Nazarene University, and Lipscomb University. Nashville is sometimes referred to as the "Athens of the South" due to the large number of educational institutions. The city is also a major center for the healthcare, publishing, banking, automotive, and technology industries. Entities with headquarters in the city include AllianceBernstein, Asurion, Bridgestone Americas, Captain D's, Concord, Hospital Corporation of America, LifeWay Christian Resources, Logan's Roadhouse, and Ryman Hospitality Properties.

On December 25, 2020, Anthony Quinn Warner detonated a recreational vehicle (RV) bomb in downtown Nashville, Tennessee, United States, killing himself, injuring eight people and damaging dozens of buildings in the surrounding area. It took place at 166 Second Avenue North between Church Street and Commerce Street at 6:30 am, adjacent to an AT&T network facility, resulting in days-long communication service outages. People near the RV heard gunshots, and loudspeakers on the RV warned them to evacuate before the bombing, which was felt miles away. The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) determined that Warner, a Nashville resident, was the bomber and acted alone.

Riverfront station is a train station in Nashville, Tennessee, serving the WeGo Star commuter rail service. Located at 108 South 1st Avenue in Downtown Nashville near the John Seigenthaler Pedestrian Bridge, it serves as the western terminus for the line. No parking facilities are available at the station, however, connecting bus service is provided via MTA buses. It is within walking distance of Nissan Stadium via the previously mentioned John Seigenthaler Pedestrian Bridge. The two bus lines servicing the station are Route 64 Star Downtown Shuttle and Route 93 Star West End Shuttle.

The Acme Farm Supply Building is a listed building in Nashville, Davidson County, Tennessee, US. Originally a grocery store, it has been a restaurant and music venue since 2014.

The AT&T Building (formerly the South Central Bell Building and BellSouth Building, also colloquially known as the Batman Building) is a 617-foot (188 m), 33-story skyscraper completed in September 1994 and located in Nashville, Tennessee. The structure is designed as an office tower capable of housing 2,000 workers. It is currently the tallest building in the state of Tennessee.

The John Seigenthaler Pedestrian Bridge (previously called the Shelby Street Bridge or Shelby Avenue Bridge) is a truss bridge that spans the Cumberland River in Nashville, Tennessee, United States. The bridge spans 3,150 feet (960 m) and is one of the longest pedestrian bridges in the world.

The Johnny Cash Museum opened in May 2013 in Nashville, Tennessee, to honor the life and music of the country superstar often referred to as the "Man in Black." It houses the world's largest collection of Johnny Cash memorabilia and artifacts, including a stone wall taken from his lake house in Hendersonville, Tennessee, and is officially authorized by Cash's estate.

The Patsy Cline Museum is a museum that opened on April 7, 2017 on the second floor of the Johnny Cash Museum building on Third Avenue South in Nashville, Tennessee. It is home to an extensive collection of Patsy Cline memorabilia as well as real-life artifacts once owned by the country singer, who died in a plane crash in 1963 at the age of 30.
