Wien Simmering railway station

Simmering is a station on U3 of the Vienna U-Bahn. Above the U-Bahn station is the Wien Simmering railway station, which is served by international and regional trains, and also by line S80 of the Vienna S-Bahn. Both stations are located in the Simmering District. The U-Bahn station opened in 2000.

Simmering (German pronunciation: [ˈzɪmɐˌʀɪŋ] (listen); Central Bavarian: Simmaring) is the 11th district of Vienna, Austria (German: 11. Bezirk, Simmering). It borders the Danube and was established as a district in 1892. Simmering has several churches, some museums, schools, old castles, and four cemeteries, one of them being the Wiener Zentralfriedhof, one of the largest cemeteries of Europe.

The Filial Church Hasenleiten (German: Filialkirche Hasenleiten or Filialkirche Zum Göttlichen Kinderfreund) is one of the Roman Catholic churches in Vienna's 11th district of Simmering dedicated to St. John Maria Vianney, and is a listed monument. On April 1, 2018, the parish of Hasenleiten was merged with the parishes of Neusimmering and St. Luke (German: Pfarrkirche Neusimmering and Pfarrkirche St. Lukas) to form the Parish of the Divine Love (German: Pfarre zur Göttlichen Liebe). Since then, the Parish Church Hasenleiten has been a Filial Church of the Parish of Divine Love, and a church of the subparish of Hasenleiten.

Simmeringer Had is a stadium in Vienna, Austria with a capacity of 5,000 people. There have been three stadiums with the name, all of which have hosted the 1. Simmeringer SC Austrian football club since 1900. The largest and most important of these stadiums also hosted the Austria national team during the 1920s. The current stadium dates to the 1970s. The name derives from the Simmeringer Haide, a low-lying region of Vienna where the Had was originally geographically located.

The Vienna Gasometers are four gasholder houses, built as part of the municipal gas works (Gaswerk Simmering) in Vienna, Austria, from 1896 to 1899. They are located in the 11th district, Simmering. They were used from 1899 to 1984 to house gas holders, also known as gasometers, each of 90,000 m³ (3 million cu. ft.) storage capacity. After the changeover from town gas to natural gas between 1969 and 1978, they were no longer used and were shut down. Only the brick exterior walls were preserved. The structures have found new residential and commercial use in modern times.

The current director generals are Gabriela Petrovic, who handles administrative matters, and Tobias Thomas.Although Statistik Austria was validated as Austria's institution for statistics research, the organization itself was already founded in 1829 as with the name 'Statistical Bureau'. In 1840 it was renamed the Direktion der Administrativen Statistik, in 1863 again the K&K Statistische Zentralkommission; in the First Austrian Republic (German: Erste Republik Österreich) from 1921 to 1938 (German Invasion) it was named Bundesamt für Statistik and after the Second World War, from 1945 to 1999 it bore the name Österreichisches Statistisches Zentralamt.
