The Diocese of Wilmington (Latin: Dioecesis Wilmingtoniensis) is a Latin Church ecclesiastical territory or diocese of the Catholic Church in the eastern United States and comprises the entire state of Delaware and the Eastern Shore of Maryland (i.e. the parts of the Delmarva Peninsula not in Virginia: the nine Maryland counties included here are Caroline, Cecil, Dorchester, Kent, Queen Anne's, Somerset, Talbot, Wicomico, and Worcester). The Diocese of Wilmington is one of four Catholic dioceses in the United States to have territory in more than one federal entity; the Diocese of Gallup and the Diocese of Norwich each span two states while the Archdiocese of Washington spans Washington, D.C. and five counties of Maryland.On Thursday, April 30, 2021, Pope Francis accepted the resignation of Bishop William Francis Malooly and appointed William Edward Koenig as his successor.

The Cathedral of Saint Peter is the mother church of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Wilmington. Located on West 6th Street in Wilmington, Delaware. the cathedral is in the Quaker Hill Historic District of the city.

Serviam Girls Academy is a private school in Wilmington, Delaware, offering classes in grades 5–8 for girls. Established in 2008 as an Ursuline school, it is modeled after schools in the NativityMiguel Network of Schools. The current enrollment is approximately 60 students, most of whom live in New Castle, Newark, and the City of Wilmington. The school has a brother school, Nativity Preparatory School, which is also located in Wilmington. Serviam Girls Academy's Mission Statement: Cultivating the potential of young women through a challenging, holistic education rooted in the Ursuline tradition. Their Vision Statement: Empowering young women, changing the world. The Academy seeks to provide a holistic, tuition-free education for low-income girls in grades 5-8. The school's rigorous, college-focused program includes an extended school day and school year, small class size, a mandatory summer program, and support to its graduates in high school and college.

Grace United Methodist Church is a historic Methodist church located at 9th and West Streets in Wilmington, New Castle County, Delaware. It was designed by architect Thomas Dixon and built in 1868. It is constructed of serpentine stone of a light pea green color in the Victorian Gothic style. The church building measures approximately 166 feet by 102 feet, 6 inches. It features a needle spire that rises to 186 feet and is topped by a Celtic cross.It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1983. It was dedicated in 1868 to the Union victory at Gettysburg, which saved the city from being ransacked by the advancing Confederates.

West 9th Street Commercial Historic District is a national historic district located at Wilmington, New Castle County, Delaware. It encompasses 28 contributing buildings in a commercial area of Wilmington developed in the early 20th century. The district includes representative examples of the Italianate and Colonial Revival styles It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2008.

Foord & Massey Furniture Company Building is a historic warehouse and showroom located at Wilmington, New Castle County, Delaware. It was built between 1917 and 1919, and is a five-story, five bay by four bay, brick commercial building. It has Collegiate Gothic Revival elements, one of the few commercial buildings in the immediate area designed in this style.It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2006.

Friends Meetinghouse is a historic Quaker meeting house at 4th and West Streets in Wilmington, Delaware in the Quaker Hill neighborhood. The meeting is still active with a membership of about 400 and is part of the Philadelphia Yearly Meeting. It was built in 1815–1817 and added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1976.

Reynold's Candy Company Building is a historic commercial building located at Wilmington, New Castle County, Delaware. It was built in 1929 as a restaurant and candy factory. It is a three-story, three bay commercial building with a rectangular plan built of wall bearing brick construction. It features a curved cast metal canopy over the front doors, an ornate white terra cotta facade, terra cotta panels with stylized vine pattern relief, and is in the Beaux Arts style.It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1985.

The Quaker Hill Historic District is a national historic district located at Wilmington, New Castle County, Delaware. It encompasses 151 contributing buildings in a residential neighborhood west of the central business district of Wilmington. The district includes 19th-century residential structures of all classes, along with several 19th-and 20th-century commercial structures. The predominant structures are three-story rowhouse dwellings in a variety of popular styles including Second Empire, Italianate, and Gothic Revival. Notable non-residential buildings include the Quaker Meetinghouse and Cemetery, St. Peter's Cathedral and Rectory (1816), Union Methodist Church, and New Mount Bethel Baptist Church It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1979, with a boundary increase in 1985.

Crosby and Hill Building is a historic commercial building located at Wilmington, New Castle County, Delaware. It was built about 1859, with the present facade added in 1920. It is a four-story, three-bay rectangular plan building of bearing wall brick construction. It has a flat roof with parapet wall. The building is an example of a late-19th century commercial building that was "modernized" in the first quarter of the 20th century. The building has housed a number of businesses including a pharmacy, the Household of Faith Church, the Crosby and Hill dry goods wholesaler and retailer, the Diamond Silk Shirt and Waist Company, the Wilmington Board of Trade Builders Exchange, and John's Bargain Basement Department Store Company.It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1985.

Zachariah Ferris House is a historic home located at Wilmington, New Castle County, Delaware. It was built between 1718 and 1749, and was an example of an early farmhouse continually occupied by professional and working families. It is a two-story, brick dwelling measuring 29 feet wide and 18 feet deep with a gable roof. It features a panel of brickwork between the two windows of the second floor, where two rows of numerals and letters are built in with dark glazed headers. The house was owned by Congressman Louis McLane and U.S. Senator Outerbridge Horsey.It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1970. In 1976, it was moved to Willistown Square to save it from demolition. It is now owned by the Delaware Historical Society and is part of the Old Town Hall Commercial Historic District.

Henry Townsend Building is a historic commercial/residential building located at Wilmington, New Castle County, Delaware. It was built in 1913–1914, and is a four-story, five bay commercial apartment building with a rectangular plan built of wall bearing brick construction. It features a limestone facade with ornate denticulated cornice supported by four large brackets in the Beaux Arts style. Between 1922 and 1964, the first floor was used as a W. T. Grant Department Store.It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1985.
