Ilioupoli metro station

Ilioupoli (Greek: Ηλιούπολη, lit. "Sun City") is a suburban municipality and a town in Central Athens regional unit and located in the central-southern part of the Athens agglomeration. Its name is the modern form of the ancient name of Heliopolis in Egypt. Development of Ilioupoli started around 1924, when Greek refugees from Asia Minor settled there.

Cedi or Kedoi (Ancient Greek: Κηδοί) was a deme of ancient Attica, of the phyle of Erechtheis, sending two delegates to the Boule.Its site is tentatively located near modern Ilioupoli.

Agios Dimitrios–Alexandros Panagoulis (Greek: Άγιος Δημήτριος–Αλέξανδρος Παναγούλης), commonly known as Agios Dimitrios, and also known as Aghios Dimitrios on signage, is a station on line 2 of the Athens Metro. It served as the line's terminus from 5 June 2004, when it was inaugurated, until the extension to Elliniko opened on 26 July 2013. The station took its name from the municipality of Agios Dimitrios (Brahami), which is the area it serves, also the station has the name of Alexandros Panagoulis, a fighter against the dictatorial regime of 1967-1974 and later Member of Parliament, who was killed in a car crash at the point where the station is situated on 1 May 1976. The station is located beneath the Vouliagmenis Avenue. It is entirely underground and has a central island style platform, at the ends of which are the stairways, escalators & lifts up to the concourse level from which there are 4 exits to street level. The station is attached to Athens Metro Mall, one of Athens' major shopping centers. In the initial plans to build the metro line 2 the station Agios Dimitrios / Alexandros Panagoulis was known by name "Ilioupoli", which came from the municipality of Ilioupoli, one of the areas which it serves. During construction of the Station it was decided to rename the station to "Alexandros Panagoulis". However shortly before the inauguration of the station it was decided to re-rename the station to its current name to appear more relevant to the municipality it serves.

Alimos (Greek: Άλιμος) is an intermediate station on Athens Metro Line 2. It opened with the Elliniko extension on 26 July 2013. The station is adjacent to Vouliagmenis Avenue.

Trachones Field (Greek: Γήπεδο Τραχώνων, Gipedo Trachonon), known locally as Galaxias (Greek: Γαλαξίας), is a 457-seat track and field stadium in Trachones, Alimos, Athens, Greece. It is the seat of the local soccer team A.O.T. Alimos F.C.

Dafni (Greek: Δάφνη) is a metro station on Athens Metro Line 2, which opened on 15 November 2000, and was the line's terminus until 5 June 2004, when Agios Dimitrios station opened.

Alopece (Ancient Greek: Ἀλωπεκή, romanised: Alopeke, also spelt as Alopecae) was an asty-deme of the city of Athens, but located exterior to the city wall of Athens. Alopece was situated only eleven or twelve stadia from the city, and not far from Cynosarges. It possessed a temple of Aphrodite, and also apparently one of Hermaphroditus.The location of Alopece is near current day Koutsopodi. Alopece belonged to the tribal group Antiochis.

Ymittos (Greek: Υμηττός), is a town and a suburb in the Athens urban area, Greece. Since the 2011 local government reform it is part of the municipality Dafni-Ymittos, of which it is a municipal unit. With a land area of 0.975 km², it was the second-smallest municipality in Greece (after Nea Chalkidona) before 2011. It is situated 2.5 km southeast of the Acropolis of Athens. Ymittos has two lyceums.

Halimus or Halimous (Ancient Greek: Ἁλιμοῦς, Latin: Halmius) was a deme of ancient Athens, said to have been so called from τὰ ἅλιμα, sea-weeds, was situated on the coast between Phalerum and Aexone, at the distance of 35 stadia from the city of Athens. It had temples of Demeter and Core, and of Heracles. Halimus was the deme of Thucydides the historian. The site of Halimus is located north of modern Ag. Kosmas.
