It borders the Suffolk parishes of Blundeston and Lound and the Norfolk parishes of Burgh St Peter, Wheatacre, Aldeby and Haddiscoe across the Waveney and the parishes of Fritton and St Olaves and Belton with Browston to the north. The village of St Olaves was formerly part of the parish of Herringfleet until local government reorganisation in 1974 redrew the county boundary.
