Southmead Hospital

North Bristol NHS Trust is a National Health Service trust that provides community healthcare and hospital services to Bristol, South Gloucestershire, and North Somerset, England. The trust employs over 8,000 staff delivering healthcare across Southmead Hospital, Cossham Hospital, and the Bristol Centre for Enablement, as well as the local communities. Medical teaching facilities are provided in association with the University of the West of England, Bristol University, and the University of Bath.

Monks Park is a northern suburb of the city of Bristol, England and is the highest point within the city. Monks Park stretches westward, towards Southmead, from the A38 trunk road. Filton Park lies directly north, on the South Gloucestershire side of the city boundary. Horfield lies to the east of the A38 and also to the south. Monks Park takes its name from James Henry Monk, a nineteenth-century bishop of Gloucester and Bristol. The first development in Monks Park took place in the 1930s. Housing is mainly privately owned and semi-detached. Southmead Hospital, Bristol's largest hospital, occupies the south west corner of the suburb. There are two primary schools (Upper Horfield and St Teresa's RC) and Orchard School Bristol, formerly known as Monks Park School prior to 2009.

Horfield Leisure Centre is a leisure centre in Horfield, Bristol, UK. It is one of the three most used leisure facilities in the Bristol City Council area, the other two being Hengrove Park Leisure Centre and Easton Leisure Centre.

The Magnesian Conglomerate is a geological formation in Clifton, Bristol in England (originally Avon), Gloucestershire and southern Wales, present in Tytherington, Durdham Down and Cromhall Quarry. It dates back to the Rhaetian stage of the Late Triassic, although it may be as old as the Norian stage of the Late Triassic and as young as the Hettangian stage of the Early Jurassic. This formation was first discovered in autumn 1834 and was studied in 1836 by Henry Riley and Samuel Stutchbury.The Avon Fissure Fill is probably the same formation as the Magnesian Conglomerate.

The Avon Fissure Fill, also known as the Bristol Fissure Fill or Tytherington Fissure Fill, is a fissure fill in Avon, England (now Bristol) which dates variously from the Norian and Rhaetian stages of the Late Triassic, or possibly as late as the Hettangian stage of the Early Jurassic. The fissure fill at Avon was a sinkhole formed by the dissolution of Lower Carboniferous limestones.It is paired with the nearby Magnesian Conglomerate; it may have been the same formation as the Magnesian Conglomerate.

Horfield Barracks is a former military installation in the Horfield area of Bristol.

Golden Hill is an inner suburb of Bristol, England, lying east of Horfield Common and north-east of Bishopston. Redland and Henleaze are nearby. The housing is mainly in private ownership and was built in the 1920s and 1930s. Bristol Rovers practise on the football pitch, though it is closed for maintenance as of 2016. The fields are owned by Redland High School for Girls. A large Tesco store was built in 1993 on an adjacent green-field site, which had been for many years one of the playing fields of Bristol Grammar School. The construction was unpopular with the local community and drew protests. Plans for expansion are currently being reviewed. A second playing field is located in Golden Hill on Wimbledon Road. This is used by Golden Hill Sports Ltd (registered charity 1118954), which runs the YMCA Cricket Club and Golden Hill Sports Football Club. In addition, the charity also organises children's activity days during the school holidays as well as a number of social events throughout the year.

Henleaze is a northern suburb of the city of Bristol in South West England. It is an almost entirely residential inter-war development, with Edwardian streets on its southern fringes. Its main neighbours are Westbury on Trym, Horfield, Bishopston and Redland. Until 2016 Henleaze was the name of a ward for Bristol City Council, which included Golden Hill and Westbury Park as well as Henleaze. Henleaze is now part of the Westbury-on-Trym and Henleaze ward.

The Anglican Church of the Holy Trinity with St Edmund is a church on Wellington Hill, Horfield in Bristol, England. It has been designated as a grade II* listed building. The west tower dates from the 15th century. It contains five bells, four of which were cast by the Bilbie family of Chew Stoke in 1773. The nave and aisles by William Butterfield date from 1847, and the chancel and crossing tower are dated 1893. The transepts were added in 1913 and 1929. The organ, which was built by Palmers of Bristol, was installed in 1885.The church has associated with the Oxford Movement since the early 19th century. The parish and benefice fall within the Diocese of Bristol.In 1877 the graveyard became the resting place of Newport Chartist John Frost. Although Frost's grave site was lost for many years, in the 1980s a new headstone was created and re-erected on the site, with the aid of a grant from Newport City Council. The new headstone was unveiled by Neil Kinnock.There are also war graves of 17 British and two Canadian service personnel of World War I, and a Royal Navy sailor of World War II.

Orchard School Bristol is a secondary school with academy status, located in Horfield in Bristol, England.

Horfield is a suburb of the city of Bristol, in southwest England. It lies on Bristol's northern edge, its border with Filton marking part of the boundary between Bristol and South Gloucestershire. Bishopston lies directly to the south. Monks Park and Golden Hill are to the west. Lockleaze and Ashley Down are on the eastern fringe. The Gloucester Road (A38) runs north–south through the suburb. Horfield is also the name of a ward for Bristol City Council. The ward includes Monks Park and Southmead Hospital, but does not include the southern part of Horfield, including Horfield Common and Horfield Prison, which is in Bishopston ward.

Southmead is a northern suburb and council ward of Bristol, in the south west of England, bordered by Filton in South Gloucestershire and Monks Park, Horfield, Henleaze and Westbury on Trym. The River Trym rises in Southmead and flows south west through Badock's Wood, a Local Nature Reserve. There is a round barrow near the northern end of the wood, and a Site of Special Scientific Interest, Pen Park Hole.
