Acton, Ontario

Acton GO Station is a railway station in Acton, Ontario, Canada. It is served by GO Transit's Kitchener line. It is located at the intersection of Mill St East and Eastern Avenue, adjacent to the Old Hide House. Previous Acton stations were operated by the Grand Trunk Railway and, later, the Canadian National Railway.

Limehouse Conservation Area is located on the Niagara Escarpment near Limehouse, Ontario and is owned and operated by Credit Valley Conservation. It is within the watershed of the Credit River, being bisected by its tributary, the Black Creek. Redside dace, a provincially threatened species of fish, is found there. The area is known for a system of deep rock fissures and crevices, some of which are accessible from a trail via ladders at the location known as the "Hole in the Wall". Remains of the 19th century lime kilns (first opened in 1840 and ceased operations in 1917) can be found in the area, making it a site of the regional cultural heritage.

Darbyville is a small, unincorporated community in Milton, Ontario, Canada. The settlement was originally located in Nassagaweya Township, Halton County.

The Halton County Radial Railway is a working museum of electric streetcars, other railway vehicles, buses and trolleybuses. It is operated by the Ontario Electric Railway Historical Association (OERHA). It is focused primarily on the history of the Toronto Transit Commission (TTC) and its predecessor, the Toronto Transportation Commission, Its collection includes PCC, Peter Witt, CLRV and ALRV, and earlier cars from the Toronto streetcar system as well as G-series and M-series Toronto subway cars.The museum is open to the public, with rides on many of its vehicles. It is located between the villages of Rockwood and Campbellville in Milton, Ontario, Canada, along part of the Toronto Suburban Railway's former right-of-way. The tracks conform to the TTC's track gauge of 4 ft 10+7⁄8 in (1,495 mm), which is 60 mm (2+3⁄8 in) wider than 1,435 mm (4 ft 8+1⁄2 in) standard gauge. Vehicles from other systems must be altered to accommodate the tracks, and cars intended for third-rail power must be reconfigured for use with overhead wire. In 1889, electric railway service on routes radiating from Toronto, Ontario began. An Ontario Historical Plaque was erected at the Halton County Radial Railway Museum by the province to commemorate the Radial Railways' role in Ontario's heritage. Museum Peter Witt streetcars can be seen in the 2005 film Cinderella Man on the streets of Toronto to give it a 1930s New York City appearance.

Rockwood Academy was a private school located at 477 Main Street South, Rockwood, Ontario. Founded in 1850 by William Wetherald, a Quaker, it operated until 1883. Competition with the provincial government's collegiate institutes founded in the 1870s had lessened demand for such private education. Its three-storey stone building, constructed in 1853, still stands in the town.

Scotch Block is an unincorporated community in Halton Hills, Ontario, Canada.Settlers arrived in the early 1800s, and Scotch Block encompassed approximately 35 square kilometres (10 sq mi) of agricultural land in southwestern Esquesing Township.Sixteen Mile Creek flows through the settlement, and the present-day Scotch Block Dam and Reservoir is located there. Scotch Block is located on the Niagara Escarpment, and a portion of the Bruce Trail passes through it.
