Lubliniec

Lubliniec County (Polish: powiat lubliniecki) is a unit of territorial administration and local government (powiat) in Silesian Voivodeship, southern Poland. It came into being on January 1, 1999, as a result of the Polish local government reforms passed in 1998. Its administrative seat and largest town is Lubliniec, which lies 54 kilometres (34 mi) north-west of the regional capital Katowice. The only other town in the county is Woźniki, lying 45 km (28 mi) north-east of Lubliniec. The county covers an area of 822.13 square kilometres (317.4 sq mi). As of 2019 its total population is 76,470, out of which the population of Lubliniec is 23,784, that of Woźniki is 4,305, and the rural population is 48,381.

Lubliniec railway station is a railway station in Lubliniec, Silesian Voivodeship, Poland. As of 2022, it is served by Polregio (local and InterRegio services) and PKP Intercity (EIP, InterCity, and TLK services).

Lipie Śląskie [ˈlipjɛ ˈɕlɔ̃skʲɛ] is a village in the administrative district of Gmina Pawonków, within Lubliniec County, Silesian Voivodeship, in southern Poland. It lies approximately 6 kilometres (4 mi) south-east of Pawonków, 3 km (2 mi) south-west of Lubliniec, and 54 km (34 mi) north-west of the regional capital Katowice. Abundant skeletons of the Upper Triassic tetrapods (i.e., large dicynodonts, dinosaurs) were described from the clay pit located between Lisowice and Lipie Śląskie.

Lubecko [luˈbɛt͡skɔ] is a village in the administrative district of Gmina Kochanowice, within Lubliniec County, Silesian Voivodeship, in southern Poland. It lies approximately 4 kilometres (2 mi) west of Lubliniec and 55 km (34 mi) north-west of the regional capital Katowice. First written mention about Lubecku come from 1226. A church was built here, most probably, in early 14th century. From 1921 Lubecko belonged to Poland. In 1944 Lubecko was bombed, by mistake, by US air-forces. Almost half the village destroyed and 6 persons died. In December 2009, exquisite wall paintings (frescoes) from early 14th century were uncovered in Lubecko's church.

It lies approximately 6 kilometres (4 mi) south of Ciasna, 6 km (4 mi) north-west of Lubliniec, and 58 km (36 mi) north-west of the regional capital Katowice.
