The Sydney Goldstein Theater, formerly the Nourse Theater, is a 1,687-seat venue located at 275 Hayes Street, San Francisco, California. It is host to the City Arts & Lectures series as well as podcast tapings and conversations with notable writers and cultural figures. Built in 1926 in the Spanish Revival style as a part of the High School of Commerce, it was used as an auditorium for student events and assemblies until it was closed in 1952. The theater was used intermittently for pageants and concerts until 1985 when the auditorium was temporarily converted to a courtroom for a large asbestos exposure case. It was one of the first “wired” courtrooms with computers linked to a mainframe in Texas used to share documents. After the end of the trial, it was no longer used as a public venue, serving only as a storage facility for the San Francisco Unified School District for nearly 30 years.In 2013, when the Herbst Theatre was closed for repairs, the founder of the City Arts and Lectures program, Sydney Goldstein, renovated the Nourse Theater and made it the new home of the program. In 2018, following Goldstein's death, the theater was renamed in her honor.

International High School of San Francisco (familiarly known as International or IHS) is a private high school in Hayes Valley, San Francisco, California. Graduates earn either the International Baccalaureate ("IB") or the French Baccalaureate ("French Bac"). The IB curriculum is taught in English, while the French Bac is taught in French. A common misconception is that French is required to attend IHS. This is not true. Non-French speakers follow the IB curriculum. Approximately two-thirds to three-quarters of the students graduate with the IB diploma. (The IB is an internationally recognized degree program, with the fastest growth coming in the United States. Stuart Hall/Convent in San Francisco and Berkeley High School are two schools in the Bay Area that also offer the IB diploma.) IB and French Bac graduates earn substantial college credit from pursuing these programs. Many graduates attend respected universities. At IHS, for example, 61 out of 239 graduates (37%) in the last three graduating classes (2015–17) matriculated at University of Chicago (10), UC Berkeley (9), NYU (8), Carnegie Mellon (7), Stanford (6), UCLA (6), King's College London (5), St. Andrews (4), Harvard (3), Columbia (3), Cornell (3), Washington University (3), Johns Hopkins (3), Georgetown (3), MIT (2), Brown (2), Williams (2), Penn (2), University College London (2), Carleton (2), Davidson, Emory, London School of Economics, and Wellesley.The IHS faculty is recruited from all over the world and represents over 20 nationalities. The average number of years of teaching experience is just under 20, and more than 80% of the faculty hold master's degrees or higher.

Chinese American International School (CAIS) is an independent pre-Kindergarten through Grade 8 co-educational Chinese-English dual language immersion school located in San Francisco, California. The CAIS program is oriented around the school mission: "Embrace Chinese; become your best self; create your place in the world." To these ends, CAIS offers a Chinese-English dual language immersion curriculum with up to 50% of each school day in Chinese. The school was the first in the United States to have Mandarin immersion education.CAIS also has international travel programs for current students, high school-aged alumni, and faculty and staff. The school organizes trips to Taipei, Beijing, and Yunnan in the fifth, seventh, and eighth grades, respectively.

The French American International School is a PK-12 independent school in San Francisco, California. The lower school (PK-8) is known as "French American" or simply "FAIS," FAIS is a bilingual French-English school from PK to 8th grade. The high school, International High School, referred to as "IHS" or "International", has its own identity and French is not required to attend. IHS is currently the only school in San Francisco to offer both the International Baccalaureate Diploma Program and the French Bac. Over half of the incoming freshman class at IHS come from Bay Area middle schools outside of FAIS, including, Chinese American International School (CAIS), Ecole Bilingue de Berkeley, International School of the Peninsula (ISTP), Live Oak, San Francisco Day, Presidio Hill, Hamlin, SF Friends, Adda Clevenger, Brandeis, Children's Day, Katherine Delmar Burke, Marin Country Day, St. Paul Episcopal, Alice Fong Yu, Aptos, and Everett, among others. Louise M. Davies Symphony Hall is the concert hall component of the San Francisco War Memorial and Performing Arts Center in San Francisco, California. The 2,743-seat hall was completed in 1980 at a cost of US$28 million to give the San Francisco Symphony a permanent home.Previously, the symphony shared the neighboring War Memorial Opera House with the San Francisco Opera and San Francisco Ballet. The construction of Davies Hall allowed the symphony to expand to a full-time, year-round schedule.

The New Conservatory Theatre Center is a not-for-profit theatre company located in San Francisco, California. NCTC showcases an eight-show Pride Season, an In-Concert/Cabaret Series, Family Theatre performances, YouthAware Touring Educational Theatre, and an Emerging Artists program. NCTC also houses a comprehensive Conservatory for youth and adults. It is located in San Francisco at 25 Van Ness Avenue, near Market Street.

San Francisco Ballet School was founded in 1933 as part of the San Francisco Operatic and Ballet School when Gaetano Merola, the founder of the San Francisco Opera, perceived a need for an institution where dancers could be trained to perform in opera productions.

100 Van Ness is a skyscraper in San Francisco. Formerly an office building, it was converted into residential use. It is located in the Civic Center neighborhood near the San Francisco City Hall on Van Ness Avenue. The building, completed in 1974, stands 400 feet (122 m) and has 29 floors of former office space that housed the California State Automobile Association (CSAA).The building was sold by CSAA to VNO Patson, LLC in 2008 and was leased back to CSAA until 2010, at which time they relocated to a new corporate headquarters campus near Walnut Creek. VNO Patson's interest in the building was foreclosed on by its lender and is now owned by Civic Center Commons Associates, which took title to the property in 2011. The current owner, Emerald Fund, converted the building into 418 rental apartments. It was completed by 2015. The amenity roof deck is the largest in San Francisco and includes a bocce ball court, fire pit BBQ stations and several group lounge spaces (complete with heated concrete benches). The conversion was completed by the San Francisco office of Solomon Cordwell and Buenz and the interior design was completed by New York-based Irish Interior Designer Colum McCartan, founder and principal of McCARTAN.
