The Ropičanka (Polish: Ropiczanka) is a 16 kilometres (10 mi)-long stream in the Moravian-Silesian Region, Czech Republic. It is a left tributary of the Olza, which it enters on the outskirts of Český Těšín. The Ropičanka flows through Řeka, Smilovice, Střítež and Ropice (from source to mouth). A small portion of its volume (about 0.07 m³/s or 2.5 ft³/s) is diverted to the watershed of the Stonávka in order to increase the flow rate at the Těrlicko Dam.

Jesus Church (Polish: Kościół Jezusowy) or Grace Church is a Lutheran Church located in Cieszyn, Poland. It is one of the largest and most important Protestant churches in Poland. The construction of the Lutheran basilica was made possible with the assistance of Sweden's Charles XII, who forced Austrian Emperor Joseph I to provide right for Protestants. Late Austrian Baroque in style, Jesus Church was constructed between 1709 1710 and between 1750 the bell tower was built . In the first two decades of the church's existence, it was a significant center of pietism. The church has a capacity of 6000 people (sitting on benches) and a lot of standing places if necessary. The Church also houses the Protestant Museum altogether with Tschammer Library which has about 23 000 books in its collection. On 12 October 2008, President of Poland Lech Kaczyński visited Lutheran Jesus Church in Cieszyn, becoming the first Polish president who had visited a Protestant place of worship in Poland.

The Museum of Cieszyn Silesia (Polish: Muzeum Śląska Cieszyńskiego) in Cieszyn is one of the oldest public museums in Central Europe and the oldest public museum in Poland, set up by father Leopold Jan Szersznik in 1802.

Český Těšín (Czech: [ˈtʃɛskiː ˈcɛʃiːn] ; Polish: Czeski Cieszyn; German: Tschechisch-Teschen) is a town in Karviná District in the Moravian-Silesian Region of the Czech Republic. It has about 23,000 inhabitants. Český Těšín lies on the west bank of the Olza river, in the heart of the historical region of Cieszyn Silesia. Until the 1920 division of the region between Poland and Czechoslovakia it was just a western suburb of the town of Teschen, which after the division fell to Poland as Cieszyn. The combined population of the Czech and Polish parts of the town is around 57,000 (23,500 in Český Těšín, 33,500 in Cieszyn). The historic centre in Český Těšín is well preserved and is protected by law as an urban monument zone.

The Town Hall in Cieszyn is a historic town hall in Cieszyn, Poland. It is located in the corner of the southern frontage of the Town Square and Srebrna Street.

Cieszyn ( CHESH-in, Polish: [ˈt͡ɕɛʂɨn] ; Czech: Těšín [ˈcɛʃiːn] ; German: Teschen; Latin: Tessin; Silesian: Ćeszyn) is a border town in southern Poland on the east bank of the Olza River, and the administrative seat of Cieszyn County, Silesian Voivodeship. The town has 33,500 inhabitants (as of December 2021), and lies opposite Český Těšín in the Czech Republic. Both towns belong to the historical region of Cieszyn Silesia, and formerly constituted the capital of the Duchy of Cieszyn as a single town.

The Těšín electoral district was a parliamentary constituency in the First Czechoslovak Republic. It was set up ahead of the April 1920 parliamentary election in an area that both Czechoslovakia and Poland claimed as theirs. No vote was held there in 1920 and the constituency was abolished before the 1925 parliamentary election.

Cieszyn County (Polish: powiat cieszyński) is a unit of territorial administration and local government (powiat) in Silesian Voivodeship, southern Poland, on the Czech and Slovak border. It came into being on January 1, 1999, as a result of the Polish local government reforms passed in 1998. The county's administrative seat and largest town is Cieszyn, which lies on the Czech border 62 kilometres (39 mi) south-west of the regional capital Katowice. The county also contains four other towns: Ustroń, 14 km (9 mi) east of Cieszyn, Skoczów, 15 km (9 mi) north-east of Cieszyn, Wisła, 20 km (12 mi) south-east of Cieszyn, and Strumień, 23 km (14 mi) north-east of Cieszyn. The county covers an area of 730.2 square kilometres (281.9 sq mi). As of 2019 its total population is 178,145, out of which the population of Cieszyn is 34,513, that of Ustroń is 16,073, that of Skoczów is 14,385, that of Wisła is 11,132, that of Strumień is 3,718, and the rural population is 98,324.

Venice of Cieszyn (Polish: Cieszyńska Wenecja) is a part of the Old Town in Cieszyn, Poland. It is a section of contemporary Przykopa Street (formerly Nad Młynówką) which comprises buildings from the 18th-19th century, many of them with bridges over the course of Młynówka (an artificial canal). In the past the buildings over Młynówka belonged to craftsmen: tanners, weavers, clothiers, leather-dressers and smiths, who needed constant access to water for their craft. It is the area between the intersection of Przykopa Street and Jan Łyska Avenue and the corner of Przykopa and Schodowa streets.

The Duchy of Teschen (German: Herzogtum Teschen), also Duchy of Cieszyn (Polish: Księstwo Cieszyńskie) or Duchy of Těšín (Czech: Těšínské knížectví), was one of the Duchies of Silesia centered on Cieszyn (Teschen) in Upper Silesia. It was split off the Silesian Duchy of Opole and Racibórz in 1281 during the feudal division of Poland and was ruled by Silesian dukes of the Piast dynasty from 1290 until the line became extinct with the death of Duchess Elizabeth Lucretia in 1653.The ducal lands initially comprised former Lesser Polish territories east of the Biała River, which in about 1315 again split off as the Polish Duchy of Oświęcim, while the remaining duchy became a fiefdom of the Bohemian kings in 1327 and was incorporated into the Lands of the Bohemian Crown in 1348. While the bulk of Silesia was conquered by the Prussian king Frederick the Great in the Silesian Wars of 1740–1763, Teschen together with the duchies of Troppau (Opava), Krnov and Nysa remained with the Habsburg monarchy and merged into the Austrian Silesia crown land in 1849. The so-called "commander line" of the Habsburg-Lorraine dynasty, a cadet branch descending from Archduke Charles, Duke of Teschen, held the title "Duke of Teschen" until 1918.
