The Basilica of St. Stephen is part of Good Shepherd Parish and has a parochial school associated with it.The church is listed as an historic landmark by the city of New Orleans.

Touro Synagogue is a Reform synagogue in New Orleans, Louisiana. It was named after Judah Touro, the son of Isaac Touro, the namesake of the country's oldest synagogue, Touro Synagogue in Newport, Rhode Island. The New Orleans Touro Synagogue is one of the oldest synagogues in the United States and the oldest in the country outside the original Thirteen Colonies. The current synagogue was founded in 1881 from the merger of two older (originally Orthodox) congregations: the German Jewish Shangarai Chasset congregation, and Portuguese Jewish (Sephardic) Nefutzot Yehudah congregation. The current sanctuary building on St. Charles Avenue in Uptown New Orleans was constructed in 1908 and dedicated 1 January 1909.

La Petite Grocery is a neighborhood eatery located in Uptown New Orleans, Louisiana. Open since 2004, the restaurant features south Louisiana French-inspired cuisine. The restaurant's executive chef is Justin Devillier, and is owned by New Orleans restaurateur Joel Dondis. La Petite Grocery's name originates from Frank Vonderhaar's 1937 market called “the little grocery store.” When La Petite Grocery opened in 2004, it paid homage to the Vonderhaar family with its restaurant name. Hansen's Sno-Bliz is a snowball stand located in New Orleans, Louisiana, U.S.A., on Tchoupitoulas Street at Bordeaux Street. It opened in 1934 and is believed to be the 2nd oldest sno-ball stand in the United States after Walther Gardens (Baltimore, 1928). It has been operated continuously by the Hansen family. After Hurricane Katrina and the subsequent death of founders Ernest and Mary Hansen, the shop closed for some time before being reopened by their granddaughter Ashley Hansen, in early summer of 2006. The shop is open annually from March to October.In 2014, Hansen's received an America's Classics award at the James Beard Foundation Awards.Sno-balls in Louisiana are similar to what the rest of the country calls snow cones, but they are made with more-finely-shaved ice and a large variety of homemade syrups.

Xavier University Preparatory School was a private, Catholic high school in New Orleans, Louisiana. The Sisters of the Blessed Sacrament founded, owned and operated the school, having opened it in 1915 as what would eventually become Xavier University of Louisiana.Andrew Vanacore of The Times Picayune wrote in 2013 that "Xavier Prep has evolved over nearly a century into a symbol of achievement for girls from the city's black middle class." The school closed that same year, later reopened as St. Katharine Drexel Preparatory School.
