The Marin Theatre Company (MTC) is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization and professional LORT D regional theater located in Mill Valley, California. Jasson Minadakis is the company's Artistic Director and Meredith Suttles its Managing Director / CEO.Reaching an annual audience of approximately 35,000 people, MTC offers a season of six mainstage productions that runs annually from August to June in its 231-seat Boyer Theatre. Recent notable productions since 2010 include the Bay Area premiere of Matthew Lopez's The Whipping Man, the 10th Anniversary revival of Suzan-Lori Parks's Pulitzer Prize for Drama-winning Topdog/Underdog, the Bay Area premiere of Annie Baker's Circle Mirror Transformation, the West Coast premiere of Keith Huff's A Steady Rain, the world premiere of Steve Yockey's Bellwether, the world premiere of Libby Appel's adaptation of Anton Chekhov's The Seagull, the world premiere of Bill Cain's 2011 Harold and Mimi Steinberg/American Theatre Critics Association New Play Award -winning 9 Circles, the West Coast premiere of Tarell Alvin McCraney's In the Red & Brown Water, and the Bay Area premiere of Bill Cain's 2010 Steinberg/ATCA New Play Award -winning Equivocation.MTC is committed to the development and production of new plays by American playwrights, with a comprehensive New Play Program that includes world and regional premieres each season, two nationally recognized annual playwriting awards, new play readings and workshops by the nation’s best emerging playwrights and a National New Play Network Playwright in Residence.MTC offers theater experiences and education programs for youth and teens, student matinees performances of mainstage shows, the Marin Young Playwrights Festival, the 24/7 twenty-four hour play festival, after-school classes, classroom workshops, summer camps and more. Approximately 12,000 students from over 40 Bay Area schools participate in our education programs each year.

Sweetwater Saloon was a bar and music venue located at 153 Throckmorton Avenue Mill Valley, California, with a 30-year history of live musical performances by the likes of Bonnie Raitt, Elvis Costello, Jerry Garcia, The String Cheese Incident, John Lee Hooker and Carlos Santana. There were typically at least 4 to 5 musical acts booked per week making it a popular local hangout. Sweetwater Saloon also featured an open mike night on Mondays that occasionally featured surprise performances by well-known artists such as Gregg Allman, Train and others. Village Music, a nationally recognized independent record store also in Mill Valley held twice-yearly parties at Sweetwater by well-known musicians who were also Village Music store customers. A documentary film about Village Music, Sweetwater and the music community in Mill Valley,Village Music: Last of the Great Record Stores was released in 2012. After closing in 2007 it was reopened as Sweetwater Music Hall in 2012 by Bob Weir and his partners a few blocks away from its original location

Arroyo Corte Madera del Presidio is a 4.1-mile-long (6.6 km) year-round stream in southern Marin County, California, United States. This watercourse is also known as Corte Madera Creek, although the actual stream of that name flows into San Francisco Bay further north at Point San Quentin. This watercourse has a catchment basin of about 8 square miles (21 km2) and drains the south-eastern slopes of Mount Tamalpais and much of the area in and around the town of Mill Valley; this stream discharges to Richardson Bay.

Bothin Marsh is a 106 acres (43 ha) wetland in Marin County, California. Parts of the wetlands are in the Bothin Marsh Open Space Preserve, a regional park.

Old Mill School is one of 5 public elementary schools in Mill Valley, California, along with Park, Tamalpais Valley, Edna Maguire, and Strawberry Point Schools. The main building, built in 1921, is the oldest existing public elementary school building in Mill Valley. At the beginning of the 2015 school year, there were 333 students at Old Mill in kindergarten through 5th grades, and 14 grade-level teachers assisted by subject-specific teachers and teacher's aides.
