Bothin Marsh is a 106 acres (43 ha) wetland in Marin County, California. Parts of the wetlands are in the Bothin Marsh Open Space Preserve, a regional park.

Tamalpais High School (often abbreviated as Tam) is a public secondary school located in Mill Valley, California, in the San Francisco Bay Area. It is named after nearby Mount Tamalpais, which rises almost 2,500 feet (760 m) above Mill Valley. The 2 AM Club is a bar in Mill Valley, California. The bar was the location for the cover photo of the Huey Lewis and the News' album Sports; Lewis himself attended school in Mill Valley. It is known locally as "The Deuce".The bar was opened by Bill Brown on the corner of Miller and Montford, and was called The Brown Jug. Prohibition forced its closure in 1921. It was reopened in 1933, with the same name, by Joe Hornsby. It became known as the 2 A.M. Club, because it was outside the city limits and so was allowed to stay open until 2 am, whereas bars within the city of Mill Valley had to close by 10 pm. It was officially renamed as the 2 A.M. Club in 1940.A toilet seat guitar created by Charlie Deal hangs behind the bar. Deal obtained a patent for the idea. The guitar is one of the many items visible in the photographs used for the Sports album.The band 2AM Club named themselves after the bar.

It is separated from Mill Valley by U.S. Route 101. Its population was 5,447 at the 2020 census.

Strawberry Spit (also Sanctuary Island) is a small artificial island in the San Francisco Bay's Richardson's Bay embayment of Strawberry Lagoon. It is still referred to as Strawberry Spit, although it no longer is technically a spit. Historically the spit was a haul out area for harbor seals. A channel was built separating Aramburu Island from the mainland to isolate and therefore protect the seals from human disturbances.The landscape north and landward of Strawberry Spit is dominated by Ring Mountain, whose slopes are strewn with a multitude of boulders that include minerals such as mica, amphibolite and eclogite.

Strawberry Lagoon is an inlet within Richardson Bay, Marin County, California, United States. This location, particularly on Strawberry Spit, is a winter haul-out area for the Harbor seal. Pressures of urban development at Strawberry Point along with increases in small boat traffic have diminished the use of this lagoon for seal haul out, noted as early as 1990.
