Eko Atlantic

Tarkwa Bay is an artificial sheltered beach located near the Lagos harbour in Nigeria. Due to its island status, it is only accessible by boat or water taxis. The beach, popular with swimmers and water-sports enthusiasts, also has a welcoming resident community.

The Federal College of Fisheries and Marine Technology is a higher education institute located on Victoria Island in Lagos, Nigeria. It is a monotechnic approved by the National Board for Technical Education. The College was originally known as the Federal School of Fisheries, established in 1969 as a vocational training institute for Nigeria's in-shore fishing fleet. It was upgraded to a technological institution in 1992. The college offers courses in fisheries technology, general science, marine engineering, nautical science and Maritime Transport and Business Management. It has two hostels, accommodating about 450 students.The college is headed by a provost who reports the Minister of Agriculture. In February 2009 Samuel Azikwe Zelibe, former head of the Fisheries Department of Delta State University, was appointed provost. In January 2010 the provost warned that despite the N74 million government allocation and a N37.4 million World Bank grant last year, the college had scarcely enough funding to cover basic needs, let alone upgrade facilities and purchase a training vessel. He said more money was needed to develop a Fishery Technology laboratory, raise buildings and build roads.The college fronts Victoria Beach, which is rapidly eroding. When the building was commissioned in May 1993 the beach was about 150 m (490 ft) wide. Two years later, waves had reached to within a few meters of the foundation of the buildings, forcing construction of a protective groyne.

The Remembrance Arcade located at the Tafawa Balewa Square, Lagos, is a cenotaph site used to commemorate Nigerian soldiers who died in World War I, World War II and the Nigerian Civil War. It is located within the Tafawa Balewa Square in the Lagos Central Business District. The Armed Forces Remembrance celebrations are performed yearly at this site. At the entrance of the site, a statue of an unknown soldier with a gun can be seen facing the entrance. The green space is laid out with grasses, pavements, and the cenotaph.

The Federal Palace Hotel is a 5 star hotel with 150-rooms that overlooks the Atlantic Ocean, located in the commercial hub of Victoria Island in Lagos. Established in 1960 as the country's premier international hotel, it was originally owned by the Victoria Beach Hotel, as part of the A. G. Leventis trading group. Considered "a landmark of the Lagos metropolis", the hotel is notable for having been the setting for the signing of Nigeria's Declaration of Independence. It has been a Sun International property since 2007.

Victoria Island (VI) is an affluent area that encompasses a former island of the same name neighbouring Lagos Island, Ikoyi and the Lekki Peninsula by the Lagos Lagoon. It is the main business and financial centre of Lagos State, Nigeria. Victoria Island is one of the most exclusive and expensive areas to reside in Lagos. The town and island lie within the boundaries of the Eti-Osa Local Government Area (LGA).

Bar Beach is a beach on the Atlantic Ocean along the shoreline of Lagos, situated on Victoria Island. For a time, it was the most popular beach in Nigeria especially when Lagos was the capital of the country.

Kuramo Beach is a sandy beach in Lagos, Nigeria, located at the south side of Victoria Island, just east of Bar Beach and south of the Kuramo Waters lagoon. It was the location of numerous illegal shanties and cabins, some of them being used for music entertainment, bars and prostitution. In August 2012, a surge of the Atlantic Ocean hit Kuramo Beach, destroying some of these shacks and killing 16 people. The next day government authorities evacuated the area, demolished the remaining shacks and began to refill the sand.The ocean surge is said to occur every August at the beach, though in former years no lives were lost.
