The Hirst Research Centre, also known as the GEC Hirst Research Centre or GEC Research Laboratories, was established in 1919 at Wembley, Middlesex, by the General Electric Company.

Wembley High Technology College (also known as WHTC) is a coeducational secondary school and sixth form with academy status, situated in Brent, a borough situated in Greater London, England. Formerly called East Lane County Secondary school since 1934, then Wembley High School from 1979, Wembley High Technology College was established in 2003 and is a popular and heavily oversubscribed secondary school. Paul Bhatia is the current headteacher. Wembley High was assessed as 'Outstanding' by Ofsted and has achieved one of the top results in Brent. Its Chair of Governors is Councillor Ruth Moher, and the school's ward is located at Northwick Park. The college has recently improved facilities, adding a new science block, several astroturf pitches (2008) a new hall (2009), and a sixth form block (2011). The school converted to academy status in August 2012.

North Wembley is a district in North West London, England. It is located in the London Borough of Brent and is mostly made up of the 1930s Sudbury Court Estate. North Wembley forms the north-western part of the district of that is its namesake. The major roads in the area are East Lane, Watford Road, and Sudbury Court Drive. Most of it is part of the Wembley HA0 postcode area, but a small part in the east (including East Lane Business Park) falls under Wembley HA9, and parts in the west (including Sudbury Court Drive) fall under Harrow HA1.

Preston Park is a 7.5-hectare (19-acre) public park in Preston in the London Borough of Brent. It is Green Flag accredited. It is a grassed area with scattered trees, with two sports pavilions and a children's playground. There is access from Carlton Avenue East, College Road and Montpelier Rise.

Preston ward is a political division of the London Borough of Brent that returns three representative councillors. At the 2006 election all 3 seats were held by the Conservatives, but Labour took 2 of the 3 seats at the 2010 election and won all 3 seats in 2014. The population of the ward at the 2011 Census was 15,484. The ward covers most of the area known as North Wembley.

The Windermere is a Grade II listed public house at Windermere Avenue, South Kenton, London.It is on the Campaign for Real Ale's National Inventory of Historic Pub Interiors.It was built in 1938.

South Kenton is a National Rail suburban rail station in Kenton, north-west London. The station is served by suburban services operated by Arriva Rail London and London Underground Limited (LUL) services. It is on both the London Overground Watford DC line and Bakerloo line between Kenton to the north, and North Wembley to the south. It is located between The Link in the Sudbury Court Estate of North Wembley, and Windermere Grove in Kenton, in the Wembley postal area.

Wembley () is a large suburb in north-west London, England, 8 miles (13 km) northwest of Charing Cross. It includes the neighbourhoods of Alperton, North Wembley, Preston, Sudbury, Tokyngton and Wembley Park. The population was 102,856 in 2011.Wembley was for over 800 years part of the parish of Harrow on the Hill in Middlesex. Its heart, Wembley Green, was surrounded by agricultural manors and their hamlets. The small, narrow, Wembley High Street is a conservation area. The railways of the London & Birmingham Railway reached Wembley in the mid-19th century, when the place gained its first church. Slightly south-west of the old core, the main station was originally called Sudbury, but today is known as Wembley Central. By the 1920s, the nearby long High Road hosted a wide array of shops and Wembley was a large suburb of London. Wembley then, within three decades, became an integral outer district of London, in density and contiguity. Wembley formed a separate civil parish from 1894, incorporated as a municipal borough of Middlesex in 1937. In 1965, when local government in London was reformed, the area merged with the Municipal Borough of Willesden, which was separated by the River Brent, to create the London Borough of Brent, one of the 32 local government districts of Greater London. The estate of Wembley Park was largely pleasure grounds when the Metropolitan Railway reached this part in 1894. It was chosen to host the British Empire Exhibition in 1924, resulting in the development of landmarks including the Empire Stadium, later known as Wembley Stadium, which became an iconic football stadium. Suburban protection of public parkland and low-to-mid building density of all but high-rise western Wembley Park means most of Wembley is integral to and archetypal of the once well-advertised – mainly Middlesex – Metroland. After years of debate, the 1923 stadium was replaced by a modernised stadium with a grand, skyline arch which opened in 2007; it is home to the England national football team, hosts latter and/or final stages of annual competitions such as the FA Cup and has the greatest capacity nationwide. In the early 21st century the London Designer Outlet pedestrianised plaza was built.

Northwick Park is a large green public park between Harrow and Kenton in north-west London, forming part of the London Borough of Brent. Most of the park consists of playing fields. It is also the name of the electoral ward of Brent that covers the park, the area around its namesake station, and most of North Wembley. The park was originally an estate as part of Sheepcote Farm in the manor of Harrow, and named after its lord, Northwick. The Middlesex County Council acquired 192 acres of land in the 1930s to plant trees and create a landscape to the existing hedges. The amount of public open space has since diminished, partly due to the building of Northwick Park Hospital, a major NHS hospital. Later in 2006, a major privately owned golf course called Playgolf Northwick Park was opened, which has been voted number one 9-hole golf course in the UK in 2009 by National Golfers Magazine. Until World War II, there was a previous golf course there at the land now covered by the Harrow campus of the University of Westminster.From 1987 to 1991, there were proposals to change local authority borders which included transferring Northwick Park to the London Borough of Harrow, which was objected to by Brent London Borough Council. The proposals were eventually rejected.Today, Northwick Park includes nine standard pitches, three cricket pitches, two Gaelic football pitches, two flying areas and eight softball areas. The park also consists of a 1,133 square metre pavilion - a single storey brick building constructed circa 1950 with a hall, ancillary area for sports, and dedicated car park. The pavilion has also been hired for filming.To the west of Northwick Park, across Watford Road, is the Harrow School Playing Fields.

Preston is a small locality in northwest London. It forms part of the London Borough of Brent and the northern part of Wembley. It is a residential suburb containing Preston Road Station (Metropolitan line) with some stores on either side. The area to the station's north is covered under the HA3 postcode and is, along with the area around South Kenton station to the west, normally considered part of Kenton.

Wembley Central is an interchange station on the West Coast Main Line (WCML), London Overground and London Underground on the Watford DC line in Wembley, in north-west London, served by suburban services operated by London Underground and Arriva Rail London and regional services operated by London Northwestern Railway and Southern services. It is on the east-west High Road. The station serves Wembley Stadium and the nearby Wembley Arena.

Wembley Football Club is an English semi-professional football club based in Wembley, in the London Borough of Brent, London, England. Founded in 1946, the club currently play in the Combined Counties League Premier Division North. They play in red and white and are nicknamed "The Lions", due to the lion on the coat of arms for the old Borough of Wembley. Traditional local rivals for Wembley are Harrow Borough and Edgware Town, while Wealdstone F.C. are also regarded as rivals although, as Wealdstone have regularly played at a higher level, meetings between the clubs have been rare.
