Preston Park (Brent)

The Windermere is a Grade II listed public house at Windermere Avenue, South Kenton, London.It is on the Campaign for Real Ale's National Inventory of Historic Pub Interiors.It was built in 1938.

Preston ward is a political division of the London Borough of Brent that returns three representative councillors. At the 2006 election all 3 seats were held by the Conservatives, but Labour took 2 of the 3 seats at the 2010 election and won all 3 seats in 2014. The population of the ward at the 2011 Census was 15,484. The ward covers most of the area known as North Wembley.

South Kenton is a National Rail suburban rail station in Kenton, north-west London. The station is served by suburban services operated by Arriva Rail London and London Underground Limited (LUL) services. It is on both the London Overground Watford DC line and Bakerloo line between Kenton to the north, and North Wembley to the south. It is located between The Link in the Sudbury Court Estate of North Wembley, and Windermere Grove in Kenton, in the Wembley postal area.

The Hirst Research Centre, also known as the GEC Hirst Research Centre or GEC Research Laboratories, was established in 1919 at Wembley, Middlesex, by the General Electric Company.

Preston Road is a London Underground station on the Metropolitan line in the London Borough of Brent. It lies between Northwick Park and Wembley Park and is in Travelcard Zone 4. It serves the local area of Preston in Wembley and parts of Kenton. It is served by 'slow' (all stations) trains only (fast and semi-fast trains do not stop at stations between Wembley Park and Harrow-on-the-Hill).

Preston is a small locality in northwest London. It forms part of the London Borough of Brent and the northern part of Wembley. It is a residential suburb containing Preston Road Station (Metropolitan line) with some stores on either side. The area to the station's north is covered under the HA3 postcode and is, along with the area around South Kenton station to the west, normally considered part of Kenton.

North Wembley is a National Rail suburban rail station on Watford DC line in North Wembley, north-west London. The station is served by suburban services operated by Arriva Rail London under the London Overground brand and London Underground Limited services. It is between South Kenton to the north, and Wembley Central to the south and located on the south side of East Lane, part of the London Borough of Brent, serving residents of North Wembley and western parts of Wembley Park.

Northwick Park is a large green public park between Harrow and Kenton in north-west London, forming part of the London Borough of Brent. Most of the park consists of playing fields. It is also the name of the electoral ward of Brent that covers the park, the area around its namesake station, and most of North Wembley. The park was originally an estate as part of Sheepcote Farm in the manor of Harrow, and named after its lord, Northwick. The Middlesex County Council acquired 192 acres of land in the 1930s to plant trees and create a landscape to the existing hedges. The amount of public open space has since diminished, partly due to the building of Northwick Park Hospital, a major NHS hospital. Later in 2006, a major privately owned golf course called Playgolf Northwick Park was opened, which has been voted number one 9-hole golf course in the UK in 2009 by National Golfers Magazine. Until World War II, there was a previous golf course there at the land now covered by the Harrow campus of the University of Westminster.From 1987 to 1991, there were proposals to change local authority borders which included transferring Northwick Park to the London Borough of Harrow, which was objected to by Brent London Borough Council. The proposals were eventually rejected.Today, Northwick Park includes nine standard pitches, three cricket pitches, two Gaelic football pitches, two flying areas and eight softball areas. The park also consists of a 1,133 square metre pavilion - a single storey brick building constructed circa 1950 with a hall, ancillary area for sports, and dedicated car park. The pavilion has also been hired for filming.To the west of Northwick Park, across Watford Road, is the Harrow School Playing Fields.

Wembley High Technology College (also known as WHTC) is a coeducational secondary school and sixth form with academy status, situated in Brent, a borough situated in Greater London, England. Formerly called East Lane County Secondary school since 1934, then Wembley High School from 1979, Wembley High Technology College was established in 2003 and is a popular and heavily oversubscribed secondary school. Paul Bhatia is the current headteacher. Wembley High was assessed as 'Outstanding' by Ofsted and has achieved one of the top results in Brent. Its Chair of Governors is Councillor Ruth Moher, and the school's ward is located at Northwick Park. The college has recently improved facilities, adding a new science block, several astroturf pitches (2008) a new hall (2009), and a sixth form block (2011). The school converted to academy status in August 2012.

Brent North is a constituency represented in the House of Commons of the UK Parliament since 1997 by Barry Gardiner of the Labour Party.

St Gregory's Catholic Science College is a coeducational Roman Catholic secondary school and sixth form located in the Kenton area of the London Borough of Harrow, England. It is located near to the border of the London Borough of Brent, and accepts pupils from both boroughs. The school has had great success in recent years, offering highly valued GCSEs such as statistics and business studies with most of its students achieving 70% A-A*. Although predominantly Roman Catholic, the school accepts some pupils from other religions too. Previously a voluntary aided school, in January 2016 St Gregory's Catholic Science College converted to academy status and is now sponsored by the All Saints' Trust.

Preston Manor is a mixed all-through school within the London Borough of Brent, located in the Preston and Wembley Park areas. It educates primary and secondary school-age children and adults and has a sixth form.
