Foss Cross railway station was on the Midland and South Western Junction Railway in Gloucestershire. The station opened on 1 August 1891 with the section of the line between Cirencester Watermoor and the junction at Andoversford with the Great Western Railway's Cheltenham Lansdown to Banbury line, which had opened in 1881. Foss Cross was an isolated station, and the nearest village was Chedworth, over a mile away, and that petitioned successfully for its own station, which opened just a year later. Other villages such as Bibury were up to four miles away. The result was that the station was very lightly used for passenger traffic and towards the end of its life only one passenger a day used it regularly.However, what it lacked in passengers it made up in goods traffic. The station handled much agricultural traffic until the 1930s and there was also a set of sidings leading to stone quarries. Some of the stone was used by the railway, and water from the large water tower at Cirencester Watermoor station was hauled regularly to Foss Cross sidings in rail-mounted tankers to supply the stone crushing equipment located there. Foss Cross station closed to both passengers and goods when the line closed to all traffic in 1961. The main station building and part of the platform remained in 2013, along with a cattle dock, two huts and foundations of the goods shed. In 1929 a train consisting of 67 wagons with a weight of 475 tons conveyed the dismantled Rose Cottage from Chedworth from Foss Cross to Brentford on the first part of its journey to Michigan where it was rebuilt on the instructions of Henry Ford. Today the platform remains along with two structures (see the picture of this article). The main building is very overgrown but you walk along the tree covered platform and enter via the middle door. Inside are some faded signs on the door and some men's urinals at the far end. The whole area is very overgrown but you can still see the station very clearly.

Chedworth Halt railway station was on the Midland and South Western Junction Railway in Gloucestershire. The station opened on 1 October 1892, 14 months after the opening of the section of the line between Cirencester Watermoor and the junction at Andoversford with the Great Western Railway's Cheltenham Lansdown to Banbury line, which had opened in 1881. Villagers at Chedworth had complained that the station provided at Foss Cross was inconvenient. The original station was very small and used an old railway carriage on the single platform as the waiting shelter. It was relocated a little further north when the line was made double track in 1902. No goods facilities were provided. The Station Master's house adjacent to the very substantial but now demolished bridge over the centre of the village still has in its back garden the steps cut into the embankment via which he would go up onto the formation and walk to the station. The village pub has a good photo of him standing on the trackbed. The station was always lightly used and from 1925 it was downgraded to halt status, with staffing entirely withdrawn in 1954. The line closed to all traffic in 1961 and the station buildings were demolished.

Foss Cross Quarry (grid reference SP056092) is a 0.67-hectare (1.7-acre) geological Site of Special Scientific Interest in Gloucestershire, notified in 1972. The site is listed in the 'Cotswold District' Local Plan 2001-2011 (on line) as a Key Wildlife Site (KWS) and a Regionally Important Geological Site (RIGS).

Chedworth is a village and civil parish in Gloucestershire, southwest England, in the Cotswolds. It is known as the location of Chedworth Roman Villa, administered since 1924 by the National Trust. Chedworth Stream rises close to the village and flows east for about 1.9 miles (3 km) in a narrow valley before joining the River Coln at the point where it is crossed by the ancient Fosse Way.

Chedworth Roman Villa is located near Chedworth, Gloucestershire, England and is a scheduled monument. It is one of the largest and most elaborate Roman villas so far discovered in Britain and one with the latest occupation beyond the Roman period. The villa was built in phases from the early 2nd century to the 5th century, with the 4th-century construction transforming the building into an elite dwelling arranged around three sides of a courtyard. The 4th-century building included a heated and furnished west wing containing a dining-room (triclinium) with a fine mosaic floor, as well as two separate bathing suites: one for damp-heat and one for dry-heat. The villa was discovered in 1864, and was excavated and opened to public view soon afterwards. It was acquired in 1924 by the National Trust who have conducted a long-term conservation programme, with new on-site facilities and cover-buildings. Historians have debated whether Chedworth was a villa rustica or a religious sanctuary and hostel, as evidence has been found in support of both arguments. Most currently believe, however, that Chedworth was the former, inhabited by a very wealthy Romano-Briton.

Stowell Park Estate is a 6,000-acre (24 km2) historic agricultural and sporting estate in the Cotswold Hills, Gloucestershire, England. The estate includes the village of Yanworth. The main house is a Grade II* listed building and surrounded by extensive parkland, a mill, and church. The landscaped park is listed Grade II on the Register of Historic Parks and Gardens.

Yanworth is a village and civil parish in the Cotswold district, in the county of Gloucestershire, England 14 miles south east of Cheltenham and 88 miles North West of London. It has a population of 300, decreasing to 112 at the 2011 census. The village itself is part of the Stowell Park estate owned by Lord (Sam) Vestey. St Michael's church is set apart from the village and dates to about 1200.
