Red Top Mountain State Park

Stamp Creek is a stream in the U.S. state of Georgia. It empties into Lake Allatoona.Stamp Creek was named from fact livestock stamped the ground at a nearby mineral lick.

The Battle of Allatoona, also known as the Battle of Allatoona Pass, was fought October 5, 1864, in Bartow County, Georgia, and was the first major engagement of the Franklin-Nashville Campaign of the American Civil War. A Confederate division under Maj. Gen. Samuel G. French attacked a Union garrison under Brig. Gen. John M. Corse, but was unable to dislodge it from its fortified position protecting the railroad through Allatoona Pass.

Pine Mountain is a summit in Cartersville, Georgia. At its highest point, the mountain has an elevation of 1,562 feet (476 m). Pine Mountain contains several miles worth of hiking trails.

Allatoona is an unincorporated community in Bartow County, in the U.S. state of Georgia. The community is located along Allatoona Creek, 6 miles (9.7 km) southeast of Cartersville. It was once a small mining community until a dam was erected at the base of the Etowah River, completely flooding the town of Allatoona. It is today perhaps best known as the site of the Battle of Allatoona.

George Washington Carver State Park was a state park in the U.S. state of Georgia. It existed from 1950 to 1975, when it was then leased to Bartow County as a county park known as Bartow Carver Park, and since 2017 as George Washington Carver Park. Red Top Mountain, located on Lake Allatoona, consists of 1,553 acres (6 km2) and derives its name from the rich red color of the soil that comes from the high iron content in the ground. In 1950, the state initially leased the land for 25 years from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. The park served not only to preserve the area’s history, but also boost Bartow County’s growth and agricultural economy.

Corbin is an unincorporated community in Bartow County, in the U.S. state of Georgia.

Lake Allatoona (officially called Allatoona Lake) is a U.S. Army Corps of Engineers reservoir on the Etowah River in northwestern part of the State of Georgia. This reservoir is mostly in southeastern Bartow County and southwestern Cherokee County. A small portion is located in Cobb County near Acworth. Cartersville is the nearest city to Allatoona Dam. Also, Red Top Mountain State Park is located on its shores, on the peninsula between the two arms of the lake. Most of the north side of the lake remains protected from land development because of its isolated location, mostly blocked by the lake. The major highways Interstate 75 and U.S. Highway 41 pass along the southern and western sided of Lake Allatoona, and they cross the Etowah River downstream from the Allatoona Dam.

Rowland Springs is an unincorporated community in Bartow County, Georgia, United States. It is located approximately five miles east of Cartersville with approximately ten subdivisions and churches, including Rowland Springs Baptist Church. It is situated off Rowland Springs Road and off Georgia State Route 20. The community was named for John S. Rowland, who established a mineral spa at this site in the 1840s.

Cartersville High School is a public high school in Cartersville, Georgia. Cartersville is a part of the Cartersville City School System. It was established in 1924 and teaches grades 9 to 12.

The Cartersville City School District is a public school district in Bartow County, Georgia, United States, based in Cartersville. It serves the city of Cartersville in Bartow County. The school board maintains schools for pre-school to grade twelve. There is one primary school, one elementary school, a middle school, and a high school. The district has 226 full-time teachers and over 3,940 students.

North Metro Technical College (commonly North Metro Tech, or NMTC ) was a two-year state technical college located in the state of Georgia, and governed by the Technical College System of Georgia. The college was accredited by the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools to award associate degrees since 2006. Since the beginning of July 2009, it is now the North Metro campus of nearby Chattahoochee Technical College.
