Howard station (CTA)

The Howard Yard is a CTA rail yard in the Rogers Park neighborhood on the North Side of Chicago, Illinois, on the border with Evanston, Illinois. It is the largest rail yard of the CTA, and stores cars from the Yellow, Red, and Purple Lines of the Chicago Transit Authority. Currently, 5000-series railcars are stored here. It is adjacent to Howard station. The yard was opened in 1919 and gradually replaced the functions of Wilson Yard, until the latter was destroyed by fire in 1996. The yard was rebuilt between 1991 and 1993. A train derailed in the yard in 1990, disrupting rail traffic to Evanston. In 2023, a Yellow Line train collided with a CTA snowplow on tracks adjacent to the yard.

Jarvis is an 'L' station on the CTA's Red Line, located at 1523 W. Jarvis Avenue in the Rogers Park neighborhood of Chicago, Illinois. The style of the station is typical for the intermediate Red Line stops between Howard and Wilson – a narrow platform in the middle of the tracks, with the Red Line stopping on the inner tracks, and the Purple Line Express running on the outside tracks during weekday rush hours.

Calvary was a commuter railroad station on the Chicago and North Western Railway's Milwaukee Division, today’s Union Pacific / North Line. The station was located at Mulford Street and Chicago Avenue, in Evanston, Illinois.

Chicago Math and Science Academy (CMSA), a public charter school, authorized by Chicago Public Schools (CPS) and rated by CPS as Level 1, or Level 1+ school for eight years consecutive years. CMSA is a middle school and high school (grades 6th-12th) located in Chicago, Illinois in the Rogers Park neighborhood. For three years in a row, U.S. News & World Report has ranked CMSA as the #1 public charter high school in Illinois. The school has 600 students and 45 full-time equivalent teachers for the 2018-2019 school year. CMSA opened in 2004, and the school is managed by Concept Schools, a non-profit charter management organization. As of 2018, 95% of the students were eligible for the free lunch program.

Calvary was a station on the Chicago Rapid Transit Company's Evanston Line, now the Chicago Transit Authority's Purple Line. The station was located at 400 Chicago Avenue, across from the entrance to Calvary Cemetery. Calvary opened on May 16, 1908, and closed in 1931; it was replaced by South Boulevard. After its closure, Calvary remained boarded and abandoned for seven decades before being demolished in February 1995.

The Emil Bach House is a Prairie style house in the Rogers Park neighborhood of Chicago, Illinois, United States that was designed by architect Frank Lloyd Wright. The house was built in 1915 for an admirer of Wright's work, Emil Bach, the co-owner of the Bach Brick Company. The house is representative of Wright's late Prairie style and is an expression of his creativity from a period just before his work shifted stylistic focus. The Bach House was declared a Chicago Landmark on September 28, 1977, and was added to the U.S. National Register of Historic Places on January 23, 1979.

Lake Shore Apartments is a historic apartment building at 470-498 Sheridan Road in Evanston, Illinois. The three-story building was built in 1927. Its location was chosen to provide views of Lake Michigan and relative distance from Evanston's busier commercial areas; to compensate for this, the owners provided residents with transportation to local schools and public transit stations. Architect Roy F. France, who also designed several other Evanston apartment buildings, designed the building in the Georgian Revival style. The building features a brick exterior with terra cotta detailing, projecting bays and bow windows, and an arcade leading to a private courtyard.The building was added to the National Register of Historic Places on March 15, 1984.

Tudor Manor is a historic apartment building at 524 Sheridan Square in Evanston, Illinois. The brick three-flat was built in 1916. Architect Louis C. Bouchard designed the building in the Tudor Revival style. The building's design includes multiple large bay windows, an arched entrance, a crenellated roofline, and multiple ornate chimneys. Each apartment originally included amenities such as a sunroom, a library, a maid's room, a fireplace, mahogany detailing, and a vacuum cleaning system.The building was added to the National Register of Historic Places on March 15, 1984.

The Building at 548–606 Michigan Avenue is a historic building in Evanston, Illinois. The three-story brown brick building was built in 1924. Architect N. Hilton Smith designed the building, which incorporates elements of Gothic and Prairie School architecture. The building's design features geometric themes, projecting bays, terra cotta detailing, and a brick parapet. The building encircles a recessed courtyard with a wrought iron gate and multicolored stone paths.The building was added to the National Register of Historic Places on March 15, 1984.

Rogers Park is the first of Chicago's 77 community areas. Located 9 miles (14 km) from the Loop, it is on the city's far north side on the shore of Lake Michigan. The neighborhood is commonly known for its cultural diversity, lush green public spaces, early 20th century architecture, live theater, unique bars/restaurants, beaches, and progressive mindset. It is bounded by the city of Evanston along Juneway Terrace and Howard Street to the north, Ridge Boulevard to the west, Devon Avenue and the Edgewater neighborhood to the south, and Lake Michigan to the east. The neighborhood just to the west, West Ridge, was part of Rogers Park until the 1890s and is still commonly referred to as West Rogers Park.
