Northeast High School is a high school located at 1601 Cottman Avenue (at Algon Avenue) in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, United States. Northeast is one of the oldest high schools in Philadelphia, founded in 1890 as the Northeast Manual Training School. Before 1957, it was located at 8th Street and Lehigh Avenue in Philadelphia (later the home of Thomas Edison High School). As of June 2016 Northeast High School had 175 graduating classes. Some of the best known alumni include Lil Uzi Vert (hip hop artist), Herb Adderley (hall of fame football player), Eddie Stanky (major league baseball player and manager), Guy Rodgers (hall of fame basketball player), Brent Grimes (former football cornerback), Carlos Mina from Buenos Aires, Argentina (hall of fame soccer player), Sonny Hill (organizer of Philadelphia summer basketball leagues), Ralph Garman (TV/radio personality & podcaster), & Drew Gulak (WWE Cruiserweight Champion & WWE 24/7 Champion). Northeast serves Rhawnhurst and other sections of Northeast Philadelphia. The high school was featured in the A&E series Teach: Tony Danza, where actor Tony Danza taught a tenth grade English class during the 2009–2010 school year. It was also the setting for Frederick Wiseman's 1968 documentary on high schools titled, simply, High School. Steve's Prince of Steaks is a cheesesteak eatery that was founded in 1980 on Bustleton Ave in the Oxford Circle section of Northeast Philadelphia. The eatery has since expanded to three additional locations and is popular among locals. The eatery is known for its melted American cheese and does not chop the meat.

Oxford Circle is a neighborhood in the lower Northeast section of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, United States. Its namesake is the much used traffic circle at Roosevelt Boulevard and Oxford Avenue. The Oxford Circle neighborhood has traditionally included the areas up to Rhawnhurst and Mayfair but does not really have a fixed boundary other than in publications about Philadelphia which are of a public relations or informational nature.Oxford Circle is also the colloquial name for the nearby Summerdale neighborhood, which is located west of Roosevelt Boulevard, opposite the city's Frankford section. However, Summerdale is, for the most part, a different neighborhood than the one that is discussed in this article.

Roosevelt Mall is a medium-sized outdoor shopping mall, located along Pennsylvania Route 73 (Cottman Avenue) between Bustleton Avenue west end and U.S. Route 1 (Roosevelt Boulevard) in the east end, or Rhawnhurst neighborhood, of Northeast Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The mall has 45 stores and services. It is currently anchored by a large, three-level Macy's department store on its east end. Since 2015, the mall has featured a flea market on Saturdays during the summer.

Kennedy Crossan Academics Plus Elementary School is a historic elementary school building in the Burholme neighborhood of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. It is part of the School District of Philadelphia. The building was designed by Irwin T. Catharine and built in 1922–1924. It is a two-story, nine-bay, brick building on a raised basement in the Late Gothic Revival style. It features a central entrance with arched opening and stone surround and a crenellated brick parapet.The building was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1988.

Ryers station is a station located along SEPTA's Fox Chase Line. It is located at Cottman and Rockwell Avenues and has a 71-space parking lot. In FY 2013, Ryers station had a weekday average of 402 boardings and 376 alightings. The station itself consists of a new high-level platform and shelter, completed in early 2012.

Laura H. Carnell School is an historic elementary school located in the Oxford Circle neighborhood of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania at 1100 Devereaux Avenue. It is part of the School District of Philadelphia. The building was designed by Irwin T. Catharine and built in 1930–1931. It is a three-story, eight-bay, brick building on a raised basement in the Late Gothic Revival style. A rear addition was built in 1953. It features stone arched entryways, stone two-story bay, and crenellated battlement with four small towers. The school was named after Temple University dean Laura H. Carnell. The building was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1988.

Ryers is a neighborhood in Northeast Philadelphia. Ryers is bounded by Cottman Avenue (PA 73) on the southwest, Fillmore Street on the northwest. Both of these highways separate Philadelphia from Cheltenham and Rockledge, Montgomery County. The Fox Chase Line separates Ryers from Burholme and Fox Chase borders it via Hartel St. on the northeast. The name Ryers comes from the Ryerss Estate which is located in Burholme Park along Central Avenue. The Estate was owned by Joseph Waln Ryerss who left it to his son Robert, a lawyer. Eight months before he died at the age of 65, Robert shocked Philadelphia society by marrying his housekeeper of many years, Mary Ann Reed. The will stipulated that upon Mary Ann’s death the estate was to be turned over to the city of Philadelphia to be used as a park, library, and museum “free to the public.” Before she died, Mary Ann Ryerss turned the property over to the city of Philadelphia in 1905. The Ryerss Museum and Library was opened to the public in 1910 under the administration of the Fairmount Park Commission. Who later left it to the Free Library of Philadelphia.

Roughly bordered by Cottman Avenue to the south, Pennway Street to the west, the Pennypack Creek to the north, and Roosevelt Boulevard to the east, Rhawnhurst encompasses ZIP codes 19152 and part of ZIP code 19111. The geographic center of Rhawnhurst is at the intersection of Castor Avenue and Rhawn Street.

Knowlton Mansion, also known as the Rhawn Residence, is a historic mansion in the Fox Chase neighborhood of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, United States. The three-story mansion was designed in the Gothic Revival style by renowned 19th century architect Frank Furness as a residence for William Rhawn, a successful Philadelphia banker. The house was completed in 1881 and was named after John Knowles, Rhawn's wife's great-grandfather. It later served as the residence for Robert MacKay Green II, who was the son of Robert MacKay Green I who invented ice cream soda in 1874. The mansion was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1974. Today the mansion serves as the home to Conroy Catering. The first fundraiser held at Knowlton by Conroy Catering was for former State Representative Chris Wogan in December 1997 .
