Chestnut Hill College is a private Catholic college in the Chestnut Hill section of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The college was founded in 1924 as a women's college by the Sisters of St. Joseph. It was originally named Mount Saint Joseph College. In 1980, the college established a coeducational graduate education program and started to admit male students to its undergraduate programs in 2003. As of 2012, a total of 2,318 students were enrolled in Chestnut Hill College's three constituent schools, with fewer than 900 as undergraduates.

The Morris Arboretum & Gardens of the University of Pennsylvania (37 ha / 92 acres) is the official arboretum of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. The Arboretum is open daily except for major holidays. It is located at 100 East Northwestern Avenue, Chestnut Hill, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

Erdenheim Farm is a 450-acre (1.82 km2) working farm in Springfield and Whitemarsh Townships, Montgomery County, Pennsylvania, United States. Located just outside the Chestnut Hill section of Philadelphia, it is bordered by the Morris Arboretum & Gardens to the east, Whitemarsh Valley Country Club to the south, Carson Valley School to the north, and Corson's Quarry to the west. The Wissahickon Creek flows through the farm and Stenton Avenue crosses it. All but 23 acres of the land is now protected from development by conservation easements.

After B.K.S. Iyengar is an abstract bronze sculpture, by Robert Engman, that commemorates B. K. S. Iyengar's 1976 visit to the United States. It is located at Morris Arboretum, 9414 Meadowbrook Avenue, English Park Step Garden, Philadelphia. It was dedicated in September 1988.Another casting is at the Annmarie Sculpture Garden, Solomons, Maryland, on loan from the Hirshhorn Museum and Sculpture Garden.The statute was originally sited at Cobble Court, the historic house built by J. H. Carstair and owned by Marvin and Marian Garfinkel. Iyengar was a guest of the Garfinkels when he visited Philadelphia in 1976 and gave a public demonstration of yoga at Haverford College. Artist Robert Engman was one of the Garfinkels' neighbors.

Carson College for Orphan Girls, also known as Carson Valley School, is a historic school complex and national historic district located in Flourtown, Springfield Township, Montgomery County, Pennsylvania. The buildings remain in active use by the same institution, now coeducational and named Carson Valley Children's Aid.

Woodmere Art Museum, located in the Chestnut Hill section of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, has a collection of paintings, prints, sculpture and photographs focusing on artists from the Delaware Valley and includes works by Thomas Pollock Anshutz, Severo Antonelli, Jasper Francis Cropsey (The Spirit of Peace), Joan Wadleigh Curran, Daniel Garber, Edward Moran, Violet Oakley, Herbert Pullinger, Edward Willis Redfield, Nelson Shanks, Jessie Willcox Smith, Benjamin West (The Fatal Wounding of Sir Philip Sidney), Philip Jamison, Barbara Bullock and N. C. Wyeth (Anthony and Mr. Bonnyfeather).The collection includes the Violet Oakley lunette paintings of The Child and Tradition, Youth and the Arts, and Man and Science.

Mount Saint Joseph Academy, commonly called The Mount, in Flourtown, Pennsylvania, is a Philadelphia-area all-female, Catholic, college preparatory school within the Archdiocese of Philadelphia. It was founded in 1858 by the Sisters of Saint Joseph. The academy was originally located in Philadelphia on the grounds of what is now Chestnut Hill College. Originally a boarding school, the academy began accepting day students in 1911. In 1928, this all girls high school was the first Catholic school to be approved by the Middle States Association accrediting agency. In response to the growth of the school and evolving educational needs, the Mount moved in 1961 to its present site, just outside the community of Chestnut Hill near Philadelphia. Since relocation to the new campus, the school has grown significantly.

Erdenheim is a community in Springfield Township, Montgomery County, Pennsylvania. It is served by the 19038 ZIP Code. The primary commercial areas are located along Bethlehem Pike. The name is German for "Earthly Home," and comes from nearby Erdenheim Farm, which was established in 1765 by Johannes Georg Hocker. The area was known as "Heydricksdale" or simply "Wheelpump" after a local inn, but was changed to "Erdenheim" when the community was laid out in 1892. Students in Erdenheim attend schools in the Springfield Township School District. Springfield Township High School is located in Erdenheim. Phil-Mont Christian Academy is a private school located adjacent to Cisco Park in the building originally housing the first Springfield Township High School, and later Hillcrest Junior High. Cisco Park is also the site of the former Chestnut Hill Amusement Park, also known as White City (Philadelphia). Flourtown Fire Company in neighboring Flourtown protect the citizens of the small community. Erdenheim Terrace (near Auchy Lane and Erdenheim Road) contains some of the oldest still standing homes in the township. Erdenheim was subject to some of the first Post-War suburban development in the Philadelphia Area, with the Chesney Downs development, located between Glendalough Road, Avondale Road, and Longfield Road being constructed in the late 1940s, while the Holiday at Paper Mill Glen development, located between Harston Road, Fraser Road, and Atwood Road was constructed in 1955. The Springfield Mill and Yeakle and Miller Houses are listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

The Yeakle and Miller Houses, also known as the Daniel Yeakle and John Faber Miller Houses, are two historic, American homes that are located in Erdenheim in Springfield Township, Montgomery County, Pennsylvania. The houses were added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1992.

Andorra is a neighborhood in Northwest Philadelphia, which is a section of the city of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, United States. Andorra is a part of Roxborough, being within the borders of the original Roxborough Township and having the same zip code (19128). At some point during the 19th or 20th century, Andorra developed a cultural identity as a neighborhood within Roxborough. Andorra (which occupies one of the higher elevations in Philadelphia, on bluffs overlooking the Schuylkill River) was named "Andorra" after a fancied resemblance to the small country of the same name which sits astride the Pyrenees between France and Spain.Andorra borders Montgomery County. Although within Philadelphia city limits, Andorra resembles suburban Montgomery County more than Philadelphia city neighborhoods. Andorra was established and developed in 1950 and therefore has stereotypically suburban characteristics, such as a strip mall, many single or double-family dwellings set back from the street, and apartment buildings on large lots with ample off-street parking.

Philadelphia-Montgomery Christian Academy, commonly known as Phil-Mont Christian Academy, is a selective private Christian school serving grades PK-12. Phil-Mont was founded in 1943 by Cornelius Van Til and others. Phil-Mont's curriculum is rooted in a christian worldview, the principles of the liberal arts, and uses some features of a classical education model. Phil-Mont currently resides in the former Springfield Township High School & Hillcrest Junior High School building, built in 1923/24. Phil-Mont purchased the unused building and restored it to working order for grades 6-12 in 1979. The property was originally part of Chestnut Hill Park/White City Amusement Park, part of which is now also Springfield Township's James A. Cisco Park and Hillcrest Pond.

The Thomas Mill Covered Bridge, aka the Thomas Mill Bridge or the Thomas Mill Road Covered Bridge, is a historic, single-span, wooden covered bridge across the Wissahickon Creek in Wissahickon Valley Park in Northwest Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The only remaining covered bridge in Philadelphia and the only covered bridge in a major American city, it was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1980.
