Mount Saint Joseph Academy, commonly called The Mount, in Flourtown, Pennsylvania, is a Philadelphia-area all-female, Catholic, college preparatory school within the Archdiocese of Philadelphia. It was founded in 1858 by the Sisters of Saint Joseph. The academy was originally located in Philadelphia on the grounds of what is now Chestnut Hill College. Originally a boarding school, the academy began accepting day students in 1911. In 1928, this all girls high school was the first Catholic school to be approved by the Middle States Association accrediting agency. In response to the growth of the school and evolving educational needs, the Mount moved in 1961 to its present site, just outside the community of Chestnut Hill near Philadelphia. Since relocation to the new campus, the school has grown significantly.

Black Horse Inn, also known as Sampson & the Lion, is a historic inn and tavern located in Flourtown in Springfield Township, Montgomery County, Pennsylvania. The original section was built in 1744 and is a 2+1⁄2-story stuccoed stone structure with a one-story, stone kitchen addition in the rear. The original section measures 16 feet by 18 feet, and the kitchen addition 15 feet by 15 feet. In 1833, a three-story addition was made to the north and between 1880 and 1908, three one-story additions were made to the rear. Also in 1833, a one-story porch was added to the front, west, and south sides. The building is in the Federal style.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2005.

The Springfield Mill and Yeakle and Miller Houses are listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

Philadelphia-Montgomery Christian Academy, commonly known as Phil-Mont Christian Academy, is a selective private Christian school serving grades PK-12. Phil-Mont was founded in 1943 by Cornelius Van Til and others. Phil-Mont's curriculum is rooted in a christian worldview, the principles of the liberal arts, and uses some features of a classical education model. Phil-Mont currently resides in the former Springfield Township High School & Hillcrest Junior High School building, built in 1923/24. Phil-Mont purchased the unused building and restored it to working order for grades 6-12 in 1979. The property was originally part of Chestnut Hill Park/White City Amusement Park, part of which is now also Springfield Township's James A. Cisco Park and Hillcrest Pond.

Chestnut Hill College is a private Catholic college in the Chestnut Hill section of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The college was founded in 1924 as a women's college by the Sisters of St. Joseph. It is located at Morris Arboretum, 9414 Meadowbrook Avenue, English Park Step Garden, Philadelphia. It was dedicated in September 1988.Another casting is at the Annmarie Sculpture Garden, Solomons, Maryland, on loan from the Hirshhorn Museum and Sculpture Garden.The statute was originally sited at Cobble Court, the historic house built by J. H. Carstair and owned by Marvin and Marian Garfinkel. Iyengar was a guest of the Garfinkels when he visited Philadelphia in 1976 and gave a public demonstration of yoga at Haverford College. Artist Robert Engman was one of the Garfinkels' neighbors.

Erdenheim Farm is a 450-acre (1.82 km2) working farm in Springfield and Whitemarsh Townships, Montgomery County, Pennsylvania, United States. Located just outside the Chestnut Hill section of Philadelphia, it is bordered by the Morris Arboretum & Gardens to the east, Whitemarsh Valley Country Club to the south, Carson Valley School to the north, and Corson's Quarry to the west. The Wissahickon Creek flows through the farm and Stenton Avenue crosses it. All but 23 acres of the land is now protected from development by conservation easements.
