Hälleviksstrand is a locality situated in Orust Municipality, Västra Götaland County, Sweden with 214 inhabitants in 2010. Hälleviksstrand is often locally called Strana and is a fishing town. 2015 Hälleviksstrand had a population of less than 200 inhabitants.

Mollösund is an old fishing village and a locality situated in Orust Municipality, Västra Götaland County, Sweden with 236 inhabitants in 2010. It is located on the southwest tip of Orust Municipality in the outer archipelago of Sweden’s west coast. Records of permanent settlements date back to the early 16th century. The traditionally predominant catches were herring and the common ling, used mostly to prepare the dish lutefisk. During the latter part of the 19th century, approximately 30 sailing ships berthed in Mollösund transported raw materials to and from the region, including coal, iron, and salt. Commercial fishing from Mollösund has all but shut down in recent years, but preparation of lutefisk with imported products still occurs on a small scale. The area is home to approximately 277 year-round residents and is a popular tourist destination during the summer months.

The Haga dolmen (Swedish: Hagadösen) is a megalithic dolmen, dating from the Neolithic era. It is located on the island of Orust in Bohuslän, Västra Götaland County, Sweden. Hagadösen is registered by the Swedish National Heritage Board.

Orust (Swedish pronunciation: [ˈûːrɵst]) is an island in Bohuslän, western Sweden, and Sweden's third largest island. In 2014 Statistics Sweden declared it to instead be the fourth largest island, under a definition which adds artificial canals to the possible bodies of water surrounding an island. It has been noted that under this definition, all of Götaland would be the country's largest island, rendering Orust instead the fifth largest. The largest town on Orust is Henån, the municipal capital, where approximately 1,800 inhabitants live. Other communities, many of which are fishing villages, include Ellös, Edshultshall, Hälleviksstrand, Mollösund, Morlanda, Stocken, Svanesund, Svanvik and Varekil. Orust is home to approximately 15,160 inhabitants in the winter and many more in the summer. Its main industry is the shipyards, the two largest being Najadvarvet and Hallberg-Rassy.

Pilane in Klövdal, Tjörn, Bohuslän, Sweden, is an Iron Age settlement site and grave field, dated to 1-600 AD. The grave field consists of approximately 90 ancient monuments, including stone circles, burial mounds, circular stone grave markers and standing stones. The site is under the care of the Swedish National Heritage Board and the land is leased as sheep pasture. In the summer of 2007, the Pilane site started to be used for a seasonal outdoor sculpture exhibition: Skulptur i Pilane (Sculpture in Pilane). During its first year the exhibition had 60,000 visitors. The art activities are coordinated by the private, non-profit Pilane Heritage Museum, which is financed by the entry fees. The site occupies a prominent position, with extensive views over land and sea. The Basteröd rock carvings site is nearby.

Tjörn Municipality (Tjörns kommun) is a municipality that covers the island of Tjörn in Västra Götaland County in western Sweden. Its seat is located in the town of Skärhamn. Tjörn is the sixth largest Swedish island. It is located in the province of Bohuslän. The former municipal entities on the island and adjacent islets were united to form Tjörn Municipality in 1952. For centuries the local economy was dominated by fishing and boat building. The largest employers are still the shipping company TransAtlantic (formerly known as B&N) and the shipyards Djupviks varv and Rönnängs varv.

The Nordic Watercolour Museum (Swedish: Nordiska Akvarellmuseet) is a museum, artist workshop and research facility in Skärhamn on the island of Tjörn in Sweden, opened in 2000. The architects behind the museum, painted in the typical Swedish Falu red colour, are the Danes Niels Bruun and Henrik Corfitsen, who won the assignment after an international competition. An extension built in 2012 was designed by Anders Tengbom. The museum was Swedish Museum of the Year in 2010, and in 2011 it and the newspaper Göteborgs-Posten won the 2010 Swedish Arts and Business Awards for their marketing collaboration. In 2015 it celebrated its fifteenth anniversary and started a new book series, Vattenkonst Nordiska Akvarellmuseet.

Svanvik is a locality situated in Orust Municipality, Västra Götaland County, Sweden. Its population in 2010 was 293. It is situated on Sweden's fourth largest island, Orust.

Orust Municipality (Orusts kommun) is a municipality in Västra Götaland County in western Sweden. Its seat is located in the town of Henån, with an approximate population of 1,800. The municipality includes Sweden's third largest island Orust and some other small adjacent islets. The year-round population of around 15,000 increases significantly in the summer due to an influx of summer vacationers. The former municipal entities on the island Orust and adjacent minor islands were grouped into larger units in 1952 and united into a single municipality in connection with the nationwide municipal reform of 1971.
