The Koornmarktspoort is city gate in Kampen, Overijssel, the Netherlands. It was originally part of the city wall and is the oldest of the Kampen city gates.

Beemster (Dutch pronunciation: [ˈbeːmstər] (listen)) is a former municipality in the Netherlands, in the province of North Holland. The Beemster is the first so-called polder in the Netherlands that was reclaimed from a lake, the water being extracted from the lake by windmills. The Beemster polder was drained between 1609 and 1612. It has preserved intact its well-ordered landscape of fields, roads, canals, dykes and settlements, laid out in accordance with classical and Renaissance planning principles. A grid of canals parallels the grid of roads in the Beemster. The grids are offset: the larger feeder canals are offset by approximately one kilometer from the larger roads. Beemster merged into the existing municipality of Purmerend on 1 January 2022.

Since 2022 it has been part of the municipality of Purmerend. In 2001, the town of Middenbeemster had 3628 inhabitants. The built-up area of the town was 0.82 km², and contained 1404 residences. The slightly larger statistical area "Middenbeemster" has a population of around 3820. The town is the birthplace of the painter Carel Fabritius.

Museum Betje Wolff is a history and decorative arts museum in Beemster, North Holland in the Netherlands. The museum, founded in 1950, is located in a former Dutch Reformed Church. It is named after Betje Wolff. Wolff lived in the building with her husband, Adrian Wolff, who was a pastor. The museum library has a complete collection of all of Betje Wolff's works.The museum has rooms decorated in period styles of three different centuries. There is an 18th-century garden. It focuses on the lifestyle of residents of Beemster.

Since 2022 it has been part of the municipality of Purmerend. In 2001, the town of Westbeemster had 117 inhabitants. The built-up area of the town was 0.04 km², and contained 40 residences. The larger statistical district "Westbeemster" has a population of around 360. By 2020, the town population had increased to 810 inhabitants.

Since 2022 it has been part of the municipality of Purmerend. The statistical district "Noordbeemster", which covers the village and the surrounding countryside, has a population of around 360.

Neck is a village in the northwest Netherlands. It is located in the municipality of Wormerland, North Holland, about 3 km west of Purmerend. The village was first mentioned in 1328 as "sic: van Hicke", and means "neck" which refers to the narrowest point of the waterway separating the Beemster from the Wormer.The polder mill Nekkermolen dates from 1631. In 1878, a pumping station was installed, but the wind mill has remained in service to this day to lend a hand, because the water in the polder rises fast during a storm.

Schermerhorn (Dutch pronunciation: [ˈsxɛrmərˌɦɔrn]) is a village in the Dutch province of North Holland. It is a part of the municipality of Alkmaar, and lies about 9 km south of Heerhugowaard.

Zuidoostbeemster is a town in the west of the Netherlands in the former municipality of Beemster, North Holland. It is located about 1 km northwest of Purmerend. Since 2022 it has been part of the municipality of Purmerend. In 2005, the statistical district "Zuidoostbeemster", covering the village and surrounding countryside, had a population of around 2050. By 2020 the village grew to 3,310 inhabitants.

Purmerend Weidevenne is a suburban railway station, in the Weidevenne estate in Purmerend, Netherlands. The station opened on 9 December 2007 and is on the Zaandam–Enkhuizen railway. The official opening of the station was on 8 December 2007.

Weidevenne (pronunciation ) is a district of Purmerend in the Netherlands, west of the Noordhollandsch Kanaal (North Holland Canal) across from the De Gors district. Its 14,451 inhabitants (as of 1-1-2007) mainly live in terraced houses. The population of Purmerend is expected to grow to 90,000, mainly due to the continuing expansion of Weidevenne. In November 2007 the district celebrated its tenth anniversary.
