The Krishnaswami Temple is a Hindu temple located in the neighbourhood of Muthialpet in Parry's corner (Old: George Town), Chennai, India. It was constructed in the 18th century and was the site of a major dispute between Left hand and Right hand castes in 1787 resulting in a major riot. The conflict eventually came to an end with the mediation of the authorities of the Madras government.

M. Singaravelar Maligai (Tamil: ம. சிங்காரவேலர் மாளிகை) is an official building comprising Government offices and civil and sessions courts, in Chennai district of Tamil Nadu state in the peninsular India. The building was named after M. Singaravelar alias Malayapuram Singaravelu, who was a social reformer. M. Singaravelar Maligai is located at an altitude of about 30 m above the mean sea level with the geographical coordinates of 13.095900°N 80.292400°E / 13.095900; 80.292400.The building consists of eight floors and an underground godown in the front side and a ground floor building at the backside of the campus. The fourth floor is occupied by the Chennai district Collectorate and in general, the building itself is called as Collectorate building. National Informatics Center has a branch here and in the District Administrative office. Aadhaar Permanent Enrollment Center and the office for Chief Minister's Medical Insurance Scheme are situated at the backside ground floor building.The first floor has Civil and Additional Sessions Courts. The second floor is occupied by the Office of the welfare of the District Adi Dravidiar, the Office of the welfare of District Backward Class, TADCO and civil court. Pay and Accounts Office (North) occupies the third floor. Apart from the Chennai District Collector Office in the fourth floor, the Office of the District Revenue Officer and a small meeting hall are available in that floor. The fifth floor has the Office of the District Revenue Officer, Stamp Office, the Office of the District Public Relations Officer, the Office of the P. A. to District Collector and the Office of the District Informatics Center. The sixth floor is occupied by Office of the District Social Security Scheme and the Office of the issuance of the Tribal Permanent Caste Certificate. The seventh floor contains Sub-treasury, Fort, Tondiarpet and the eighth floor comprises the Office of the District Deputy Superintendent for Stamps and an assembly hall. Every Monday, public grievances meetings are held and the Chennai district Collector meets the concerned public regularly. Four wheeler and two wheeler parking lots are available separately.
